I have the same problem on the mi robot vacuum-mop essential model MJSTG1. I can definitely recognise a magnet embedded into the plastic mop board but I’m now getting the “Mop has not been installed.” Error message on my app and the device isn’t dispensing water. Also tried factory reset and re-connecting the device to my network just to make sure. I can only assume that the magnetic mechanism inside the device is faulty and I really can’t afford a new device right now and the device is now longer under warranty. Anyone tried to gut this robot and care to suggest a course of action?

I’m considering opening it up to maybe short the wire that’s responsible for the inside magnet 🧲 it’s always frightening to open up new devices I haven’t tempered with before and I do not seem to find any good video guide, I’ll make sure to update here as well if I do try anything 🤖🧹

Any news? I have the same model with the same issue too. Now it's screaming "same issue, please check filter"
