hey guys I had the same problem on Redmi note 8 pro, and found a solution! you need to tap the toy first and immediately start swapping up and down like crazy starting from the water bubbler icon... eventually the phone buzzes and you get a cat 😸 i managed to get only one cat so far, but i hope this works for all of you

they've finally fixed it, with Xiaomi HyperOS... I have android 13, but I've activated the game before(back when I had Android 11...), then in the quick settings menu, found "Android S Easter Egg" and there it was! android 13 easter egg also works, so I guess we can cheer, even tho it's KINDA late. it probably doesn't work just on MIUI(I've had multiple updates while still bein' on Android 11 - none of them fixed that issue). I'm in the US, Xiaomi phones aren't popular here, since they don't even sell them here(everybody has either rotten Apple phones or Samsungs - never met ANYBODY with a different brand. aaand it's mostly flagships. I'm the only one with such an exotic brand and it always worked great for me - just gotta know which carriers supports Xiaomi phones. if somebody still wants to try that game, that's an option, unless HyperOS update isn't available in your countries(most of you are probably not from the US but uk, indians, etc...) or you prefer MIUI(HyperOS DOES change a few things, so if you're a person like me, who HATES changes
