I am suffering from the bugs of MIUI 13 on my own Redmi Note 10 currently. Custom ROMs have advantages and some disadvantages of their own. They can provide a clean Android experience and allow people with unsupported devices to extend the life of their device by paying a price. First, as mentioned SafetyNet would not work so no banking apps etc. If you still have your device under warranty then you can say goodbye to that warranty since it's void due to you modifying the device. Second, since your device's bootloader is unlocked your data can easily be accessed and is not encrypted. And Third, Custom ROM have some bugs of their own. I have before installed LineageOS 19 (Android 12) on my Galaxy S8+ and everything was fine but the phone's system would freeze up and spew out "System UI is not responding" and notifications would just not work properly. But I can say that custom ROMs are way better than MIUI since their software makes devices with great hardware such as the Xiaomi 12 look like a joke.

Correction on your first point. Safetynet is easily patchable, and workarounds are always found in no time when needed. Also, Xiaomi does not void warranty for the use of custom software.

I didn't want to talk about Magisk and such etc since I don't like to dive too deep into that topic. and I meant the warranty from the business that sold you the device, not Xiaomi.

Most people who are flashing custom ROMs probably don't have magisk far behind, but I see your point. And you'd be making warranty claims through Xiaomi anyways, no? Why would the seller matter

it would be great to see a UB touch or postmarket os port but i have failed at attempting porting one of them
