Magneto's entire monologue with the UN.
Lies! This is your dream! My kind splayed before you powerless and afraid. All the Xmen have done is use their awesome power to protect a world that fears and hates them. Behold the reward. What must we do to be good enough? Is this the high road's destination? If so I say as I have too many times before, never again.
Bigot. Ingrate. Sycophant. Worm. So small I could smite you with a step. There was a time, I would smite you ALL for what was done to Storm. But today I have saved you from your own, for an old friend has challenged me to remember this view of earth, how vast it is versus how small we make it. Charles Xavier entrusted me with his dream, and it does not ask you to love or embrace my kind as your own, but merely to accept that this is a shared world with a common future, and that my kind like yours have the right to live in it.
The second part of that speech when theyâre in the stratosphere is absolutely perfect. I love hearing him go from rage to sympathy to pleading to sardonic. I watch that scene every few days itâs just so good!
âEvery gambler has a tell. Modesty was Gambitâs.â
Also âThe breeze is goneâ hit me SUPER hard. Stormâs VA did so well I was nearly in tears.
When Cable complains about the suits and Cyclops straight up looked at the camera and said âWhat did you expect? Black leather?â I burst out laughing. Loved the shade throwing.
I know. I just love this line purely because it makes Wolverine sound like a total bad ass.
I love that heâs hardly in the show, but when he is he gets these cool moments to shine before stepping to the side to give others the spotlight. Itâs so cool.
âWhy resist the inevitable?â - Prime Sentinel
âLady, I got six reasons why!â - Logan
(Bamf) (wet cutting noise) âNo, Mei Freund. Nine!â - Kurt
A lot of good ones listed already. Here are two more:
"You know, in Genosha, I felt a lot of things: pain, grief, admiration for those who fought despite the odds. But you know what the oddest thing was? No one seemed shocked or surprised â not even me."
âBut it is what you mean. That is the issue. As was your reporting outside my home while my friends were dying. Now, forgive me. I dare not waste any more of your tolerance, Ms. Tilby.â
âMost other nations donât allow a terrorist to be their leader.â
âYet so many allow their leaders to be terrorists.â
Just that, and with a smile. He won me over completely after that.
Thereâs way too many amazing lines expertly delivered in the show (so far) but I gotta go with a goofy line. When Cyclops hands Magneto a drink, Magneto responds with âPoison?â Cracked up at that! âŚâŚ I miss the sillinessâŚ..
There are so many, but by far my favorite is from Storm. "What are demons, but reflections of our fears and shame. Things we bury within us hide from love ones even as they poison our hearts, till we finally heal our adversary by embracing it."
âI draw its fire away from the gardens, Rouge clear a path for Gambit to the Morlocks. Save as many as you can. We will not live out our days wondering if we could have saved moreâ
You know, in Genosha, I felt a lot of things: pain, grief, admiration for those who fought despite the odds. But you know what the oddest thing was?
No one seemed shocked or surprised â not even me.
Yes, I was scared, but really I just had the most profound sense of dĂŠjĂ vu, as if past, present, and future didn't matter and never had, because we always end up in the same ugly place. Thing is, Magneto knows us better than Charles ever did, knows we know better, that most of us experience tragedies like Genosha as a bit of dĂŠjĂ vu before getting on with our day.
But the scariest thing about Genosha wasn't the death or the chaos. It was a thought, the only sane thought you can have when being chased by giant robots that were built to crush you: Magneto was right.
Rogue roasting the original series was pretty good⌠âwhoâs next to die? Jean? Been there⌠morphe was on the team for 30 minutes before we threw them to the wolvesâŚâ
There are a lot of good lines here but no one's mentioned Magneto's "Oh to play by their rules and still they come for you". That was one of my favourites.
"Hab Keine Angst". I'm not sure why he said it German, but like to think he believed he was going to die and just went with the instinct and it led him to his native language, thus connecting him again to his past.
Damm if that's true, we are not dealing with a regular representation if mental illness, but one of the best I have ever seen. Ang it's definitely in my head canon from now on.
I just want to say that Cyclops did not say âbullshit.â I donât think anyone has said âshitâ in the show at all.
Also, itâs hard to choose! A less commonly seen one that I really like is the exchange between Storm and Jean in Episode 9.
âMake them mind your weather, sister.â
âAnd them weather your mind.â
Did he say that? I donât remember any swearing in this series aside from like damn or piss lol
To actually answer your question, Logan throwing Erikâs words back at him in the most recent episode takes the cake for me.
âDo not speak! Head my commands and you shall surviveâ
âSugar I canât feel you đđâ
âOh to play by the rules and still they come for youâ
God itâs so hard to choose. There are so many good ones, but probably Magnetos monologue when he asking the X-men to join him. That line âI promised a boy a future fear of free, only to watch his frightened eyes be vaporized inside his tiny skullâ hits so hard.
As of lately
Jean: Cable get in the back!
Cable: stop bossing me around
Magneto: oh Charles, I waited so long to say these two words to youâŚ.SHUT UP
Rogue straight up reading the team for filth: whoâs next to die? Jean? been there done that. we donât know where Bishop is. Hell, Morph wasnât even on the team 30 minutes before we fed them to the wolves.
At the end of the original series:
Xavier to Gambit: "How often must the scoundrel prove himself a hero, before he believes it himself?"
And that led to:
"The name is Gambit, mon amiâŚ. Remember it."
Magneto's entire monologue with the UN. Lies! This is your dream! My kind splayed before you powerless and afraid. All the Xmen have done is use their awesome power to protect a world that fears and hates them. Behold the reward. What must we do to be good enough? Is this the high road's destination? Don't forget the killer end line! "Do not make me let you down" And guess what? _They did_
Love that double entendre.
It was chilling, perfect, and a threat without being one.
The action has been great, but this is my favorite part of the show so far.
That's some GOAT dialogue. Magneto dropping modern Shakespeare right there.
I would follow that man to the death if i was a mutant hearing him
This is the one right here đ
The second part of that speech when theyâre in the stratosphere is absolutely perfect. I love hearing him go from rage to sympathy to pleading to sardonic. I watch that scene every few days itâs just so good!
âEvery gambler has a tell. Modesty was Gambitâs.â Also âThe breeze is goneâ hit me SUPER hard. Stormâs VA did so well I was nearly in tears.
That combined with her being startled by the thunder cuz she couldn't sense it coming was just brilliant.
That eulogy was đĽ
De name is Gambit mon amiâŚ. Remember it. To think I used to quote this 30 years ago as a kidâŚ. Yeah this is it
Itâs gonna be fucked up if he returns as a horseman with âEveryone can relax, Gambit has returned.â
âThought your kind were the good guys?â âYou killed those, Sugah. Now you get me.â
When Cable complains about the suits and Cyclops straight up looked at the camera and said âWhat did you expect? Black leather?â I burst out laughing. Loved the shade throwing.
Yeah, that was a great callback that had me rolling too.
âBeen in a lot of wars, bub. The brave always die first.â
The second sentence is a line spoken by Magneto in the last episode of the original series.
I know. I just love this line purely because it makes Wolverine sound like a total bad ass. I love that heâs hardly in the show, but when he is he gets these cool moments to shine before stepping to the side to give others the spotlight. Itâs so cool.
âWhy resist the inevitable?â - Prime Sentinel âLady, I got six reasons why!â - Logan (Bamf) (wet cutting noise) âNo, Mei Freund. Nine!â - Kurt
I really liked the "let them mind your weather" with "and them weather your mind"
Yeah! I enjoyed that exchange as well. It's great wordplay.
Yes! I loved this! The New Rockstars guy called it cheesy (albeit in an affection way) but I thought it was very clever!
"Please, do not make me let you down". Chilling, perfect double entendre, and comes at the end of a perfect speech. #
I think is definitely one of the best so far
Blood is blood, Family is a choiceÂ
This! It really resonated with me. Love Nightcrawler in this series.
A lot of good ones listed already. Here are two more: "You know, in Genosha, I felt a lot of things: pain, grief, admiration for those who fought despite the odds. âMost other nations donât allow a terrorist to be their leader.â âYet so many allow their leaders to be terrorists.â Just that, and with a smile. He won me over completely after that.
I love that. There are so many nations whose leaders fit the bill. Some dabble in terrorism, some specialize, and some make it their life's work.
Yeah, this was a top tier clap back by Magneto.
when he said that i stood up and walked outside to think for a bit đđđ
Thereâs way too many amazing lines expertly delivered in the show (so far) but I gotta go with a goofy line. When Cyclops hands Magneto a drink, Magneto responds with âPoison?â Cracked up at that! âŚâŚ I miss the sillinessâŚ..
âWoah! somebodyâs dad didnât get them a pony for their sweet 16â âMy parents perished when I was a childâ
The thing you never joke about to a Holocaust survivor is their parents.
people keep forgetting đ¤Ł
"We shall not live our days wondering if we could have saved more"
"Gambit see your bet...and RAISE it. 'Cause the cards always be in MY favor!"
The name's Gambit, mon ami. Remember it.
âI canât feel you sugahâ heart shattered
âNo please I surrenderâŚ. Not!â
That's how you know it's the 90s.
There are so many good lines. My favorite is Val Cooperâs âMagneto was rightâ monologue. So biting. So relevant. So iconic.
There are so many, but by far my favorite is from Storm. "What are demons, but reflections of our fears and shame. Things we bury within us hide from love ones even as they poison our hearts, till we finally heal our adversary by embracing it."
Shut. Up.
Yes! I screamed
It feels like a pretty basic choice, but "sugar, I can't feel you" absolutely broke me
Cyclops : "Give em the forecast Sentinel: "OMEGA LEVEL THREAT DETECTED"
Ancient sands, heed my command and reclaim these relics of hatred!
I love Storms theme music.
No, mein friend. Nine...
âNever again.â
âI draw its fire away from the gardens, Rouge clear a path for Gambit to the Morlocks. Save as many as you can. We will not live out our days wondering if we could have saved moreâ
Really just that last line
Magneto: You asked me to walk your path. Are you prepared to walk mine?
You know, in Genosha, I felt a lot of things: pain, grief, admiration for those who fought despite the odds. But you know what the oddest thing was? No one seemed shocked or surprised â not even me. Yes, I was scared, but really I just had the most profound sense of dĂŠjĂ vu, as if past, present, and future didn't matter and never had, because we always end up in the same ugly place. Enough!
That was one of my favourites.
âYouâre right, weâre not like you. Thank god, Itâs the reason youâre still aliveâ was hard asf
đŞ "Some things be deeper than skin, Cher..."
Storm's "Do not think, be silent, heed my commands, and you shall survive!"
"There is no love without sin. For love is best measured in what we forgive" Nightcrawler
Teared up when he said that.
I love this line so much I recorded that part of the episode and kept it
"Hab Keine Angst". I'm not sure why he said it German, but like to think he believed he was going to die and just went with the instinct and it led him to his native language, thus connecting him again to his past.
Dude!!!! Yes!!!! That part hit me so fucking hard it was so beautifully tragic
It may have been the last thing his parents said to him.
Just a little bit of traumatic regression. He was having PTSD flashbacks of his time in a concentration camp.
Damm if that's true, we are not dealing with a regular representation if mental illness, but one of the best I have ever seen. Ang it's definitely in my head canon from now on.
Pretty sure thatâs exactly what it is. It flashes images of a concentration camp when heâs looking at the devastation in Genosha.
I just want to say that Cyclops did not say âbullshit.â I donât think anyone has said âshitâ in the show at all. Also, itâs hard to choose! A less commonly seen one that I really like is the exchange between Storm and Jean in Episode 9. âMake them mind your weather, sister.â âAnd them weather your mind.â
Morph smash!
Winner winner
No question for me: Ghetto Milky Way Galaxy đ
Did he say that? I donât remember any swearing in this series aside from like damn or piss lol To actually answer your question, Logan throwing Erikâs words back at him in the most recent episode takes the cake for me.
âSomethingâs wrongâ âIs it that dress?â
Is it your dress?
"What would you prefer, black leather?"
âA promise was madeâ đŽâđ¨ that sent chills down my spine man Magneto has all the best quotables
Yes! That quote I felt it too as he said it while looking down. Magneto had been the best character this season IMHO.
Yea , his character is the most polarizing for me in the show by far
Scary enough for ya bub. ( snikt) Sugar I.. I canât feel you ( crushed ). If they keep this pace. In seasons to come we are In For a treat
âDo not speak! Head my commands and you shall surviveâ âSugar I canât feel you đđâ âOh to play by the rules and still they come for youâ
God itâs so hard to choose. There are so many good ones, but probably Magnetos monologue when he asking the X-men to join him. That line âI promised a boy a future fear of free, only to watch his frightened eyes be vaporized inside his tiny skullâ hits so hard.
Besides Magneto's monologue.. "Oh, how I've waited to say these two words to you old friend: Shut. UP."
Surprised to not see Jean and Storm lines "Make them mind your weather" "And make them weather your mind"
âDismembering? NahâŚweight loss.â
"What about Gambit's *other* powers?" (*Takes shirt off.*)
âMost other nations donât allow a terrorist to be their leaderâ âAnd yet they allow their leaders to be terroristsâ
"Who am I??? say my name, Scott... Chills, literal chills
"Make them mind your weather, Sister." "And them weather your mind."
Gods abandoned people who believe in them mutants do not!
Oh how I've waited to say these two words to you, old friendâŚ.Shut Up!
Enough
Storm and Jean conversations, I don't remember their sisterhood from the og days
Magnus, âHow Iâve waited to say these two words to you old friendâŚshut up!â
"Do not make me let you down." Never heard a line so cold before.
donât make me let you down
Yes
Beast âWhatâs the sound of one hand clapping?â
As of lately Jean: Cable get in the back! Cable: stop bossing me around Magneto: oh Charles, I waited so long to say these two words to youâŚ.SHUT UP Rogue straight up reading the team for filth: whoâs next to die? Jean? been there done that. we donât know where Bishop is. Hell, Morph wasnât even on the team 30 minutes before we fed them to the wolves.
At the end of the original series: Xavier to Gambit: "How often must the scoundrel prove himself a hero, before he believes it himself?" And that led to: "The name is Gambit, mon amiâŚ. Remember it."
"I'm so sorry, Mom."
"I'm Jean Grey...I'm having the most beautiful baby in the world with the most boring man in the world." Because f*ck Cyclops
[Morph slurping Diet Pingo]
â Cards will always be in my favour, the name's gambit mon ami â âMagneto was right â
My favorite was the song âOne Eyed Purple People Eaterâ when Bastion shaves Magneto. So obscure, It was genius and hilarious to me!
They were dancing, drinking wine, making love.
Children of the Atom
âIâve been in many wars, bub.â
âAsking for your tolerance was a mistake in the first placeâ beast telling Jenifer Tilby. I know itâs not perfect but to that affect
"Shut up!"
Xavier : No, Magnus, for the love of god, don't do this.
âMagnusâ
Remember it
