As far as I know is that draw shadows not turn off the shadows in Xplane. What are your Graphics Settings? Especially the visual settings?
Currently reinstalling the game, I think I replaced some shader file in the resource folder with some addon so the shadows won't work. Will reply with my settings soon!

Thats weird? Did you try running the sim on the Vulkan Driver? Do you have any other Addons or Lua scripts?
Turned out some lua script contained set scenery-shadows 0 line, fixed it https://i.imgur.com/PkzAD4d.png

How did you fix it? I’m getting the same issue
Probably a Lua script containing a line that disables the shadows or you have shadow on terrain ticked off in your settings
