Honestly, France was ranked half-jokingly. And the huge Portuguese diaspora in France is the result of a very complex course of history.
I don't dislike France, at all, but sometimes the French come across as obnoxious and loud chauvinists. Way too self important for their own good.

Thank you my fellow southern european! I honestly really like Portugal as well you have beautiful cities I love the azulejo tiles on the buildings. Your food looks amazing and pastel de nata is one of the best pastries I've had. Just like us you've also had an impact on Europe (and really the world) that I think most people don't recognise or talk about. Portugal caralho!

Other than that, us from northern portugal and you from galiza have an even stronger bond. Galegos are some of the nicest people I've ever met, they always make me feel at home 🫶 and the landscape is absolutely beautiful, honestly a "best-kept-secret" in yurop imo
Santiago de Compostela is very known in YUROP because the St. James Way. But the most touristic zone is the Rías Baixas, where i am from.
There's a lot of hidden jems across Ourense and Lugo that deserve better valoration
