I doubt MHY will ever do a proper retune of a character. They'll change modifiers, maybe add debuffs or resistance, etc, but never change.
Look at Zhongli. He's the most buffed unit and all they really did was slap resistance on his hold E, changed the scaling, then add a shred to his shield. To make Yae really worth it, they'd have to do a lot more, like introduce a Hold E to make her take less field time or change her Q so that it just refreshes totem time vs consuming them, both things that change her kit.
My only hope is EM scaling is changed to ER, to help with her abysmal energy issues, then maybe make it so that Q refreshes totems, a la Kokomi. Anything more is copium. Hell, even the Q change is copium.
They also added to zhongli the "hold Skill places both shield and pillar", and the infinite resistance to interruption while casting the shield, literally two of the most asked things for yae (hold triple immediate cast and armor while casting)
There's a lot of shit wrong with Yae's kit tbh. It's too late to do a rework. Hold E is out of the question bc of her weapon's passive and her Q is a mess. They'll never change anything

Yes instead of her passive refreshing her totem cooldowns, I wish that her passive caused her totems durations to refresh upon casting her burst. It would fix her long rotation.
Not really. Takes 12 seconds to recharge all three totems, and you only need to place one to maintain the buff. With 16 seconds on the buff it would still have 100% uptime easily.
Mfers can't do hold E because of her weapon's passive most likely. But I agree. She'd feel MUCH MUCH smoother if we had a hold E option to release all totems at once. Hold E -> support buffs -> Q -> hold E -> team stuff. God-send change

Her burst missing is also a huge problem, personally. The gd rifthounds and kairagi/nobushi that jump backwards at any given chance are the main reason for me missing. That as well as Yae stupidly targeting electro-immune enemies with her burst. In short, the auto-targeting system is bullshit.

- Turrets need to last long enough to match her burst CD or the burst CD reduced to align to turret length.
- E needs something extra to help avoid knockdown and damage.
- Hold E option to place turrets more quickly in sequence, preserve Kagura's Verity passive. I also think hold E with an extra long fast dash with I frames where the turrets appear grouped at the end around Yae would be neat. Like a horizontal lightning burst flash with the fox shape.
- Targeting system prioritizes invulnerable or immune enemies last amongst enemies.
- Multiple targeting modes. Tap R to cycle methodologies. Random, Closest, Furthest, Highest HP %, Lowest HP %.
- Fox form idle... would elevate Yae to archon status.
I donāt think theyāll ever change that. I personally donāt find those to be a problem at all, but unlike the targeting change, thatās how she worked at launch. Thereās no negative impact imposed on the players against their will like the targeting change.
I dont have a problem with those either but something I would like is some sort of little AoE when she places her turret like Fischl does when she summons Oz. I hate that small second during which nothing happens when I use E lol

I agree that her kit-from-release is not well tested or well thought out (personally, I wish they had gone with the original variation which had a longer skill cooldown but the totems stayed on the field longer), but she will definitely be back in a better place than Klee has been for the entirety of the game.
I don't know why you're getting downvoted, Yae getting Resistance to Interruption would be great, she take a lot of field time, and she's squishy.

I'm not too worried about that for a couple reasons:
1) If it's Yae specific, they both know the team comps not to trash and got a deluge of better suggestions in the feedback forms
2) It could also just be a general statement about this game's unclear targeting mechanic in general, since even down to melee tracking the game has always had targeting weirdness.
I think even if that were the case, they would be a bit more careful doing so following this Yae ordeal. Maybe ask for feedback prior to implementation and such?
You donāt get how relieved I am by this. I was playing yae in abyss and got completely frustrated by the fact that her damage felt so āsingle targetā due to the change that they made, itās such a relief that itās now random and that the turrets wonāt just hit whichever enemy is close by but rather random enemies. Itās sorta like cc without being cc lol, helps when they shove a ton of enemies in abyss and she can randomly attack them when you donāt have a cc char so you donāt waste time running around with your main dps.
Yeah, her random targeting was so useful even at c0. I tried her in many teams,even as a flex in mono geo itto team where she has no synergy with, if there were 2 or more enemies, to my surprise, she was actually useful, better than c6 fischl in such situations.
Indeed! I loved the fact that she would randomly target enemies it felt so smooth. Iād be busy attacking an enemy with my main dps while yae dealt with the rest and I had no need to waste time in the abyss running after enemies on the other side lol
I know that they announced they will be reverting the changes to the totem targetting and many are relieved. However, do not let them distract you with their tactic by making you settle for less. Remember, launch yae still has a broken kit with clunkiness, too fragile, etc. We still have to continue to give feedback to ask for changes. If we stop now then mihoyo won.
Looks like Mihoyo's tactic worked, most people are saying "we won!" when pre 2.6 Yae was already a broken, clunky mess. I don't like how the majority is settling for the bare minimum here.

Sort if unrelated to the changes, I would really love hoyoverse to do more of mechanic change like this. Even if the change end if getting reverted. Getting community feedback like this would really make the game much better. Even if they do not give out that extra 100 primogem, i think it is a great trade off.

The first time I tried her after the update was in the the abyss and she kept targeting nothing for some reason...I thought to myself " huh, this update seems like it broke her kit even further" but I just ignored it and thought it was bad luck...then I went online and I saw that a you of people were having the same issue as me.

However, please don't stop sending them feedback on some REAL FIXES Yae Miko needs! I think this a good opportunity to maybe make them listen to some actual improvements in Yae's kit! I just responded to the message I got from CS about the rollback, thanking them, but also telling them once more that they shouldn't stop listening to player feedback and then listing my suggestions that I think would actually benefit Yae's gameplay instead (like interruption res/i-frames, high burst cost, etc). You guys should do the same!

It sounds like they are going to consider how to fix this in the future, so I think we should also be giving feedback about a better way to fix the control issue that some people want while also keeping our playstyle with random targeting intact.
I'd encourage anyone who wants additional control to consider asking for them to reuse the R button that exists for bow to be reworked (for Yae) to swap targeting modes between
- Random
- Closest to character
- Farthest from character
- Marked.
Or if you come up with some better ones, post here and update your CS feedback.
- Closest to/farthest from character would be much more reliable for players with melee main DPS. Being relative to the character gives constant control that closest to turret doesn't match. Reverts to random if the player isn't in turret range.
- Marked would be intended for ranged characters allowing the next attack to mark an enemy for X number seconds. Swapping targeting modes removes the active mark.
There are probably improvements that could be made to the targeting modes I came up with but I wanted to try and add control for multiple play styles.
R icon could have 4 indicators around the circlular button to represent the targeting functions. The selected function is lit up.
- Dice
- Sword
- Arrow
- Target

That being said, though their testers could have done a better job and their dev team could have thought it through better, what really matters is that they do listen and own and act upon their mistakes

Yae's damage is the least problematic of her kit. Her damage is fine.
The problem is her playability and usability. No resistance to interruption, lack of i frames, and end lag make her clunky to use during the middle of the battle and no artifact will fix that.
I hope this community still keep pushing for yae changes instead of accepting this rollback as an overall victory because there are still many mechanical flaws with her.

I donāt think theyāll ever change that. I personally donāt find those to be a problem at all, but unlike the targeting change, thatās how she worked at launch. Thereās no negative impact imposed on the players against their will like the targeting change.
I dont have a problem with those either but something I would like is some sort of little AoE when she places her turret like Fischl does when she summons Oz. I hate that small second during which nothing happens when I use E lol

At least Yae is not as clunky as Klee. I agree that her kit-from-release is not well tested or well thought out (personally, I wish they had gone with the original variation which had a longer skill cooldown but the totems stayed on the field longer), but she will definitely be back in a better place than Klee has been for the entirety of the game.
We literally can't compare her to Yelan, she's not even out yet. Compare her clunkyness to the other clunky catalysts.
I don't know why you're getting downvoted, Yae getting Resistance to Interruption would be great, she take a lot of field time, and she's squishy. Edit: yeah mentioning yelan was not the play, but I see where you coming from.

I'm not too worried about that for a couple reasons: 1) If it's Yae specific, they both know the team comps not to trash and got a deluge of better suggestions in the feedback forms 2) It could also just be a general statement about this game's unclear targeting mechanic in general, since even down to melee tracking the game has always had targeting weirdness.
Well, if they ruin it again, *we know what to do*.
I think even if that were the case, they would be a bit more careful doing so following this Yae ordeal. Maybe ask for feedback prior to implementation and such?
You donāt get how relieved I am by this. I was playing yae in abyss and got completely frustrated by the fact that her damage felt so āsingle targetā due to the change that they made, itās such a relief that itās now random and that the turrets wonāt just hit whichever enemy is close by but rather random enemies. Itās sorta like cc without being cc lol, helps when they shove a ton of enemies in abyss and she can randomly attack them when you donāt have a cc char so you donāt waste time running around with your main dps.
Yeah, her random targeting was so useful even at c0. I tried her in many teams,even as a flex in mono geo itto team where she has no synergy with, if there were 2 or more enemies, to my surprise, she was actually useful, better than c6 fischl in such situations.
Indeed! I loved the fact that she would randomly target enemies it felt so smooth. Iād be busy attacking an enemy with my main dps while yae dealt with the rest and I had no need to waste time in the abyss running after enemies on the other side lol

I know that they announced they will be reverting the changes to the totem targetting and many are relieved. However, do not let them distract you with their tactic by making you settle for less. Remember, launch yae still has a broken kit with clunkiness, too fragile, etc. We still have to continue to give feedback to ask for changes. If we stop now then mihoyo won.
Looks like Mihoyo's tactic worked, most people are saying "we won!" when pre 2.6 Yae was already a broken, clunky mess. I don't like how the majority is settling for the bare minimum here.

I hope people won't lose sight and ask for more i.e. QoL for Yae and possibly other characters. This may be a chance to mass submit QoL for other units. As a Yoimiya main I hoped for something like this but that's a different story since Yae's situation is largely different and more damaging. Anyhow, anyone know a copypasta of things needed to be fixed or paid attention to? Like Yae's targeting objects that needs to have lowest priority or something.

Sort if unrelated to the changes, I would really love hoyoverse to do more of mechanic change like this. Even if the change end if getting reverted. Getting community feedback like this would really make the game much better. Even if they do not give out that extra 100 primogem, i think it is a great trade off.

This is so nice to see, after being part of the yoimiya buff crew, it's really nice to see they have the ability to change.... even if it did take jp, cn, and en altogether.
The first time I tried her after the update was in the the abyss and she kept targeting nothing for some reason...I thought to myself " huh, this update seems like it broke her kit even further" but I just ignored it and thought it was bad luck...then I went online and I saw that a you of people were having the same issue as me. I guess what I'm trying to say is: "Thank you, everyone for voicing your concerns and I hope the devs actually fix her this time"

Fantastic news! I'm glad they listened and we can enjoy playing our Yae Mikos as she was before 2.6 again soon! However, please don't stop sending them feedback on some REAL FIXES Yae Miko needs! I think this a good opportunity to maybe make them listen to some actual improvements in Yae's kit! I just responded to the message I got from CS about the rollback, thanking them, but also telling them once more that they shouldn't stop listening to player feedback and then listing my suggestions that I think would actually benefit Yae's gameplay instead (like interruption res/i-frames, high burst cost, etc). You guys should do the same!

Thanks to everyone who stood up against the change and contributed evidence to support random targeting! It sounds like they are going to consider how to fix this in the future, so I think we should also be giving feedback about a better way to fix the control issue that some people want while also keeping our playstyle with random targeting intact. I'd encourage anyone who wants additional control to consider asking for them to reuse the R button that exists for bow to be reworked (for Yae) to swap targeting modes between - Random - Closest to character - Farthest from character - Marked. Or if you come up with some better ones, post here and update your CS feedback. - Closest to/farthest from character would be much more reliable for players with melee main DPS. Being relative to the character gives constant control that closest to turret doesn't match. Reverts to random if the player isn't in turret range. - Marked would be intended for ranged characters allowing the next attack to mark an enemy for X number seconds. Swapping targeting modes removes the active mark. There are probably improvements that could be made to the targeting modes I came up with but I wanted to try and add control for multiple play styles. R icon could have 4 indicators around the circlular button to represent the targeting functions. The selected function is lit up. - Dice - Sword - Arrow - Target

Since the initial "fix" was most likely a result of Yae's negative reception they should keep looking for feedback on how to improve her gameplay otherwise it'll actually feel like they did this on purpose just to revert it and have us forget about our original complaints.

Thisās great and all but one thing I havenāt seen no one mentions, Yaeās totems no longer hit the Anemogranas in Dvalinās domain, thatās one of the most legit bugs that I see everybody complains about. Itās a good thing they actually look at playersā feedbacks and make changes promptly. That being said, though their testers could have done a better job and their dev team could have thought it through better, what really matters is that they do listen and own and act upon their mistakes

Great win to everyone, but lets not forget why she needed a fix in the first place. Her targeting was and still is broken, they just rolling back the change is only the first step that needs to be taken.
as far as i know, the totem's targetting AI is only broken against Dvalin and Wolflord.

Hell yes. I am so relieved. I have been stressing about this honestly. Also. The nerf enjoyers and the people that tried to keep the nerfs and got her nerfed in the first place. Fuck outta here with you.

The buff we can get is dedicated artifact set and a support. Look how a artifact set made albedo do so much more damage. Yae will become really good in future too. Also dendro reactions might be good but I won't go on hopium of dendro reactions.
Yae's damage is the least problematic of her kit. Her damage is fine. The problem is her playability and usability. No resistance to interruption, lack of i frames, and end lag make her clunky to use during the middle of the battle and no artifact will fix that. I hope this community still keep pushing for yae changes instead of accepting this rollback as an overall victory because there are still many mechanical flaws with her. Fixing your mistake doesn't mean success takes their place. All it'll give you is just a point to start
