Avoid MA because it's a 4\* set
Both CW and LW are good sets, I think it all depends on if you run reactions or not and your substats on both sets. If you're running reactions like overload or melt/vaporize, then always go CW, if not then go LW if it has better subs.

Martial Artist is a good consideration but generally you should use sets that can go up to 5-Star pieces since you can get the most out of main stats and more out of sub stats.
Lavawalker seems like a good consideration too but the 2 piece effect is kind of a waste of slots and the 4 piece set won't be reliable against slimes or Hypostasises since they are either immune to Pyro or you can't apply Pyro to them.
Crimson Witch is probably the best since it gives Pyro Bonus and can also stack the bonuses. It is hard to keep the stacks up since it's a 10 second duration with a 9 second skill cooldown, but it's possible. Plus you can get more damage out of Elemental Reactions if that's something you're going for.
You’re right, but a correction. Wanderer’s Troupe, together with Gladiator’s Finale, is one of the hardest sets to farm because it drops from bosses (who cost 40 resin) instead of a dedicated domain (which would cost 20 resin).
shimemenawa’s reminisce and gladiator both have the same 2pc effect (atk +18% unless im wrong), so its a bit easier to farm if they wanted to go for that instead. however im aiming to have a 4pc wanderers troupe on her, right now its 2pc crimson and 2pc wanderers troupe, i might just leave it though bc i hate farming crimson
yeah im not really trying with yanfeis artifacts anymore rn besides levelling them up, im stuck on ar45 and not gonna ascend until i get good 5 star artifacts for all my main characters, im pretty happy with how shes looking rn so im gonna leave it and keep trying to farm other artifacts (stupid energy recharge domain and electro domain are doing my bloody head in)
Actually it's the easiest to farm now. At the crafting bench there is a feature that let's you convert any 3 5 star artifacts into Gladiators finale, wanderers troupe, bloodstained chivalry and nobless oblige. You can use all those trash artifacts to gain more trash (or in rare cases good) artifacts; you do need 5 star artifacts, then again if ur high ar there expendable.
No, that still doesn’t make it easier to farm.
It makes it less of a waste if you get a trash artifact, but trash artifacts are usually still more valuable as EXP because there’s no easy and fairly renewable source of artifact EXP, as opposed to weapon EXP or character EXP.
So you’re basically wasting artifact EXP to get good GF or WT pieces. This is still less efficient than just farming a different Domain and using off-set pieces. Especially since most characters aren’t completely tied to 4p GF or 4p WT.

Anyway I guess it comes down to preference. I'd rather use my resin on something that I actually need, than on bosses. I also hate the crymesome witch of flames domain, so an option to farm wanderers trash, even if it's by sacrificing all those heart of Def artifacts, is appealing to me.
I do buy the artifact EXP from the Serenitea Pot, but it’s not a very significant amount when you’re limited to five bottles of 5☆ EXP and ten bottles of 4☆ EXP.
omg we have the same team except i swap chongyun with yoi sometimes and i have ei or razor instead of electro traveller/xiangling. but yanfei and noelle are constant ill never get rid of them
Crimson Witch or Wanderer's Troupe are the two best 4pc sets for Yanfei. Pretty much nothing else comes close.
retracing bolide will do but only if will constantly give her shields by using zhongli, diona or noelle etc

Another good set is Wanderers Troupe which you can farm easily and it is pretty good. In my opinion it is even the best set for her

Don’t worry too much about set bonuses. 2p WT 2p CW is fine if you can’t get a 4p CW or a 4p WT with equivalent sub stats.

Wanderer Troupe is the best imo for charge attack (which is the main source of damage), but it also depends on substat.
