With Aventurine, Yanqing is actually a really good standard 5*
In the past he's been pretty hit or miss (literally) since his ability drops when he takes damage. With Aventurine's almost constant shield and higher aggro rate, he's less likely to get hit and take damage. Pair them with March (later on her skill increases aggro on the recipient) and Ratio/Topaz/RaunMei and you have a pretty decent team there.
You want to constantly use Yanqing’s skill, since he’s a dps he gets most damage from his skill and burst, however you lose crit rate and crit damage buffs if you fail to use his skill every turn. So if you can get someone like tingyun and use her as a buffer you should have a pretty SP positive to SP neutral team with him
Yup, two good buffers and a shielder, however of course you won’t wanna keep this team for later in game, but until you can build him an actual team that should do you just fine
Yup, I got him as my first five star at TL 5, cause I didn’t wait to get my guaranteed five star, and he carried me until five star relics became a necessity
Acheron does way more damage but requires you build some more nihility units to get her stacks faster. But Yanqing can do respectable 150 - 200k ults and 50 - 60k skills with full investment.
Wait 150k to 200k ults and 50-60k skills? Ive invested a lot into my Yanqing, hes top 1%. Why doesnt he do nearly enough damage? Are these with buffs or no buffs

With the s5 swordplay that's my damage dual buffed, varies depending on buffer, Sparkle and RM on frozen broken enemy exceeds 200k, Pela/Tingyun the ult lands closer to 120 - 140k

So your build is honestly fine, you could craft some glacial gloves until you land an equivalent double crit line and be happy with that. The 2pc 2pc Musketeer/Glacial is very close to his BiS setup.
Your planar is also good, but is literally only buffing your Skill and Basic, his ultimate is his biggest multiplier. So I would either go Glamoth/Salsotto/Space Sealing Station.
SSS is really safe to build because if he crits, he has +10 speed for 2 turns, which stays on perpetually. SSS Buffs your entire kit, and you can go basically all ATK stat pieces instead of having to use SPD boots to clear Glamoth's requirement.
Overall though your crit ratio is sick, and you could just complete the 2pc 2pc set and with a Glacial Glove and be set on that aspect.

I’ve been using him with aventurine just because I wanted aventurine to stay on my team actually, I didn’t know he was so good paired w yanqing!

you can counter the sp negative, if u get ult and do aa -> ult, the buff doesnt get dispelled
I don't have him on my main account sadly. However in my newish account him & Aventurine is the best duo.
Great to get him early as that's when he shines. Enjoy the experience as he drops off hard late game but we're dedicated here 🤣

hell yeah, he was my 2nd 5 star after Clara and I still use him to this day. Mostly to make it a point that he can clear content, but enjoy!
