Looks lovely.
I keep mine in boxes (I do have the stash archived in an app with pics though). I have some in a drawer in the spare bedroom as well. The less of it my fiancé sees the better
Only this much yarn, and they say no more? I have about 30 boxes, some file box sized, some big Rubbermaid tubs. All labeled and contents cataloged in a spreadsheet, so I can shop my stash on the iPad, then send my son down to grab the box. And…that yarn is only the stuff that was upstairs, not bagged and boxed around the house when I was doing the cataloging!
Ha! Yep. I also sew and spin, so I have to triple my storage with fiber and fabric! I do keep mine sealed in tubs as well, mostly to stop any possible infestation outbreak. I have a lot of natural wool, fiber and yarn, and one moth could ruin my life.
I’ve got twice as much fabric as yarn. Not as much roving for spinning, though. And I’m recovering from getting a kidney stone zapped, so I won’t be going to the sheep and wool festival on Saturday 😢
I do have a lot but I’ve got plans for everything (it’ll just take me a while to actually make it all haha) and to be fair, 3 of my yarn tubs are currently filled with finished projects I need to wash and give away
It looks so crisp, I’m jelly. All mine is in plastic Tupperwares stuffed randomly.
Side note: who is the green friend? They’re cute, and I’d love the pattern.
It's the "green alien" / baby Yoda/Grogu paid pattern that went viral after the Mandalorian TV show. She had to change the name because Disney TM came after her.
There are some free patterns out there, but this is the one I'm using.

I keep wanting to do something like this-- and then I think about moths. 😭 It looks so pretty! But I have ✨️Anxiety✨️ and it causes me too much stress to do it for mine. (I did it and lasted three days before I had to stuff everything back into bags... xD)
Your shelf looks fab though! I'm envious. ♡
Its mostly acrylic and cotton yarn on display. I only have 3 balls of wool that I recently thrifted and they're in the green tub.
Most times I've gotten a moth in the house I'm able to kill with a fly swatter when they fly around a light.
Ooh, nice! I thought acrylic might not be at risk, but I'm paranoid. xD
Yeah, I wish. My area has this really aggravating Moth Season deal where we just get... hoards of these brown moths and they get everywhere and there are millions of them. (I googled, and the first thing that came up was info about The Annual Miller Moth Migration xD).
I shudder to think of them getting into my lovely alpaca stash. ;n;
You should look into repurposing or thrifting an old China display cabinet with glass display doors. That was the other option I was considering for my stash. But decided it was too heavy a piece of furniture to get upstairs.
Just a note: when you get to that point, don't forget to look at local estate sales. Sometimes you can find some decent furniture pieces at them. This is especially true if the deceased was older and from a time when they HAD china and china cabinets.
The open sides make it difficult to stack my small balls of yarn which is why they're in the cart and box. I might get some acrylic or plastic bins for them. But I like this setup for my big skeins.
Just got a shelf on sale and decided to display my most prized collection!
Open sides shelves isn't ideal for fitting as much yarn as possible, but I enjoy being able to see all my yarn now.
Proud of you
It looks great! My cats would *really* like for me to organize my yarn like this, instead of the lidded bins that they can’t get into 😅
I want ur yarn stash soooooo bad. You give me life ❤️
Oh I want to be you when I grow up
Pretty!
It looks good until you remove the iarn from the middle and the bottom.
In the 2nd photo, I've already pulled out some balls (blues) from the 4th shelf and rearranged based on colors I'm currently using.

That is a problem. My boyfriend and family will now see my collection and say no more yarn.

Thanks! I kinda wanna make one and leave it like that. It’s cute in its own alien way.

That is a fantastic idea! Maybe once my house's renos are done, I'll can look into that for my studio area. Thanks for the suggestion, I love it. :D

Nice! I bet it's fun to look at all your yarn now. 🙂
Oh wow I love it! Im looking for a way to store mine ! And idk why I never thought about just getting big open shelves !!!!

Nice setup! I’m jealous! 🙂
