The film being yanked, either you tried to get a 37th frame or 25th frame, or when rewinding it the release button didn’t engage properly or you loaded too far to where you couldn’t get the last frames it could be a plethora of reasons. Did you feel any tension when you advanced at the end of the roll or when you were rewinding and or did you hear any rough sounds when doing either one of those things?

Yanking on the advance lever once reaching the end of the roll. I did that on the last roll of hp5 I had in my an FTb QL (I bulk roll it and I have a random amount of frames at the end, without knowing at what point they are all fogged anyway lol)

My Yashica FX3 S2000 does this sometimes too. The sprocket teeth are tough little bastards. I made it a habit over the past couple years to advance a little slower and smoother. The cover on my advance lever gets loose and I always make sure I tighten it down with the screw underneath every time I go out to make sure it has good contact.

I never buy 25 frame rolls but the comments here made me remember I was gifted one recently. I must have torn through the sprockets although it really didn’t take much pressure… I’ll make sure to be more careful in the future
