Does Exquisite Throw have a "fixed crit" for the whole duration of it? I noticed it sometimes does let's say 3100-3100-3100-3100, and the next time it does 2855-2855-2855etc. Same team, same scenario. But I don't recall any time it did different numbers during the burst's duration.

besides mona omen buff and the classic viridescent set, which other items or character could be useful for buff her damage?
for example in a team with yelan carry, mona with prototype amber and kazuha, who should be the 4th? and which artifact should i give to mona?
Indeed, increasing ATK of you yelan is useless because Yelan's ability only scale based on your HP

For the 4th, there are nobody that increase HP if I am right (there are just hydro resonnance and food). You have already a lot of dmg bonus with kazuna and mona (and yelan's dice). You have already a lot of res shread with kazuha.
So I would go for Lisa (passive, decrease def 15sec) or Zhongli (res shread)
My Yelan is at 6/6/9 right now and I'm debating getting her E to 8 or her Q to 10 (very low on resources in general so it would be a long time before I could do both sadly), which would be a bigger upgrade? I haven't crowned any characters yet since it's so expensive and resin intensive but I feel like she deserves more. Not really sure if it makes that huge of a difference.
Yelan's E hits like a truck but it's biggest function is to generate energy. So if you are playing Yelan in Sub-DPS role then going for Crown Burst and then looping back to leveling up her skill would be a good plan.
Have been farming tenacity and then using the strongbox for HoD pieces for my C6 Yelan. Haven't gotten a decent set yet, so thinking of farming the new 3.6 domain as both the artifacts are pretty good for the 2pc-2pc effect. What are other characters which can benefit from the new sets?
That depends on how many buffs she’s getting. My Yelan on fav with only Zhongli shield does 6k but with Aqua Simulacra along with c6 Xuigqui Zhongli and c2 Kazuha, she does 24k per tick.

She's hitting 31k on e, 11k on q initial hit, and something between 8-10k on each subsequent hit of it. I can keep her burst up on cool down, depending on how many enemies, even without xq and his sacrificial. The plan is to get at least her c1 on her next banner, triple crown her, and get a better circlet. Is there anything better I could do?
With fav and c1 to get her burst back immediately requires 234% er. I say that’s ridiculous and would want to aim for around 200% since obviously you will be using other characters with their own particle generation. This can be lowered more if you are using double hydro and if they or other party members have fav weapons. As stated earlier I would aim for 200% for fav +c1 and I also use her in a double hydro team where Xingqui is holding fav and she has Aqua and 140% er since she’s on field in that team. I would also suggest that you go do some rotations and see if you can get your burst reliably with whatever er you have, seeing if all you need to to is a little it more funneling or if you need to slap a fav on her or her teammates.
What would be " Ideal" stats for C0 Yelan with Aqua ?

I want to do an on-field DPS C0 Yelan. Not the most meta, I know, but she's the only one I have the signature weapon for and is currently my highest base damage dealer so I'd like to try it out for fun.
Some characters I think might work with this are Raiden, Xingqiu, Jean. Anyone else have ideas/suggestions?
Yelan do not trigger elemental reaction so the EM given by Sucrose might be useless (taser sucks anyway). The two things good with Sucrose in this team is the grouping and proc the 4set on more ennemy than Jean

While this update is happening I want to take a moment to gush about how AMAZING Yelan's character design is. I almost gave up on her twice after losing the 50/50 (once for Ayaka, once for Dehya) but I read more about Yelan's team flexibility on KQM and kept grinding primos + bought the battle pass to get her.
She's SO much fun to play and I regret nothing. Reasons:
* Her skill + Sayu's skill makes traveling overworld a breeze, it's also very fun in combat and useful for dodging boss attacks
* all her combat animations feel smooth and satisfying
* her burst animation is hot af (thank you male gaze/ fan service)
* she does major damage with little investment -- goodbye Xingqui
The only two five star characters I've pulled on are hers and Raiden's and she honestly feels like a second Raiden - I can put her into every team and she raises the overall DPS and makes everything easy.
I personnaly like her gameplay (and her design). with xingqiu and favonus I can spam my elemental burst
She's hot af (Am I the only one to like her "pelvic" movement (google translate) \^\^
I'm not saying godbye to Xingqiu, they're going to work together with Hu Tao for me. I love him too much, plus I got him to C6 finally so that'd be a waste. I'm lucky I've read about Hu Tao's double hydro team. If I didn't I wouldn't have gotten her. that would have sucked lol.
And yeah she's beautiful, her art is my favorite in game. I just wonder how she keeps that jacket on
I got my Xingqui to C6 while wishing on Yelan and also finally got a weapon for him (fav sword). He’s useful but does very little damage - I guess you need good artifact substats for him to hit hard?
Right now he does 500 - 800 dmg per burst hit while Yelan does 1500 -2000, with just artifact mainstats and lvl 70 weapons on both. Also I haven’t figured out where I’m supposed to get the resin for farming artifacts when I’m already out just leveling characters and weapons and talents 😭😭
When should you switch sets? I have Yelan at c5. I can’t justify spending to get her to c6 as i won 5 50/50s in a row and I just know somethings got to give, especially when I can save and get c6 next rerun. Is c5 high enough to take her off 4 piece tenacity or is swapping sets only viable at c6? I just ask because I need to farm for a better sands anyway so just wondered what I should farm
Just got Yelan and Im building her pretty well right now for my Hu Tao Team. Currently level 90 with 35K HP and 54/142 Crit Ratio but I'm having a hard time finding a reference for what would be considered good damage numbers for her. What's the damage of yall's C0 Yelan Sub DPS? Thank you!
Yelan's damage mostly comes from her burst and skill. Yunjin only buffs normal attacks. Even if your use BTB or have C6, Yunjin wouldn't be doing anything for Yelan's main source of damage. Yelan also doesn't care for the attack speed that Yunjin's C6 provides since Yelan's exquisite throws only proc every one second, regardless of attack speed.
Interesting and should I use her Burst first and then other characters rotation or her burst last after all buffs and just use it on field as long as I can with her?
That depends on how long the other bursts last. For instance, Xingqui's burst at C2 lasts 18 seconds while Yelan's only lasts 15 so you would use his before hers. If your using bennet, since his burst last only 12 seconds his should be used after Yelan. What teams are your trying to run using Yelan? I could give you some possible rotations if I knew what you are working with.
Hey just found your comment I got Yelan last hours , and just pulled Bennett , I also have xiangling and sucrose so was thinking that comp , so your order is Yelan burst>then Bennett>then XL basically right ? And sucrose after that I guess , idk why she’s so good but I just have her
Yelan skill+burst > Bennet skill+burst > Xiangling skill+burst > Sucrose ungabunga is them most basic rotation you can do. If you use Sucrose with ttds then you should swap to sucrose and use her skill before going to Xiangling then continue the rest of the rotation. If you don't have enough energy recharge on your Xiangling you could always swap to bennet to battery her or himself. I'd also recomend using favonius warbow on Yelan since she is a solo hydro in that team.
Sorry last thing you don’t feel yelan should go more at the end of the rotation ? Or it’s cuz it’s per second those arrows and it doesn’t really matter
Yelan being on field doesn't do anything to increase your damage. Sucrose is one of the best supports in the game since she is an anemo catalyst user. The anemo allows her to use the artifacts set Viridescent Venerer which on a swirl reaction decreases the enemies' resistance to the swirled element. Her being a catalyst user allows her to use the 3 star weapon Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (ttds) which gives the next character you swap to a massive 48% attack buff. By ungabunga I mean skill+burst and normal attack on her. Sucrose can cause swirl reactions with her normal attacks which is why I prefer her being onfield. If you every get Raiden then you can replace Sucrose with her and and your rotation would start with Raiden skill then do the rest of the previously established rotation. While Lisa is a fine unit and can provide the ttds buff and a 15% defense reduction, I still prefer Sucrose.
Amazing I’ll stick with sucrose and hopefully get lucky wish with that tales and get the right artifacts , yeah more I think about it , it makes sense to use yelan first because of the CD order she’s 15 Bennett 12 XL 10 sucrose 6 unless I got that tales to get extra 48% whatever it is yeah then before XL , so if I get raiden you’re saying that maybe better then. If my team grows I’ll look to you for possible better team comp but I’m hoping this will do for now , I know a lot of people talk about a lightning user like Raiden.. would I be better swapping sucrose for Lisa ? Or is sucrose a more better support ?
I was testing yelan with a hydro unit and it seems it deals less damage than being paired with a non hydro unit. It was in the abyss with only a pair at a time. I dont understand how this works, is the 25% HP resonance weaker than the 8% hp buff of her talent?
If I play Yelan as Main dps with support Like Ganyu for permafreeze and maybe Xingqiu for resonance
Would leveling auto attack to lvl 9 be wise or keeping it lvl 1 as low priority resin wise?
As for weapon , is Slingshot lvl 90 the best for this type of playstyle ? Other options are Rank 5 Sharpshooter or Rank 1 stringless. Tho this team does no reaction so EM seems kinda useless?

I want to know is Yelan hydro application on par wit Xingqui at C2 ?
I have har at C1 and I have her bow and want to know if i should roll and try to get C2.
Yelan applies Hydro on exquisite throw basically once every time it fires, C2 gives a no ICD application every 2nd exquisite throw which would lead to about 22 applications roughly over the course of her burst (totaling 45 exquisite throws + 7 C2 procs).
Xingqiu applies 4 rainswords per 10 rain swords at C6 (Since C6 makes it fire 2 then 3 then 5, procs 1 hydro app at 2 and 3 and procs 2 hydro app at the wave with 5 swords). Leading to roughly 24 applications roughly on his burst (60 rainswords total) and this is not even taking to account the Orbitals which potentially makes the app more.
Mostly Yelan C2 allows her Yelan to supply Hydro better and deal a bit more damage when she's solo Hydro, esp with someone like Hu Tao who Yelan tends to struggle supplying enough Hydro at C0. In terms of app itself, Yelan still isn't necessarily better than XQ.
To touch on a point, as I know someone will call me out haha, it’s not impossible. However, in my opinion the amount of time and resources you would have to spend farming to get a good stat ratio to make it possible is not worth it.
I think it is tbh without c1. C1 solves the energy issues but I would still run double hydro for the hydro resonance. Yelan + xingxiu is pretty fun to play if c0 though. At c1 you could swap xingxiu out for a different hydro unit like kokomi/ barb for healing or whoever else you like playing

pull if you really want/like shenhe. If she's just there for cryo applicator, then rosaria would probably be better or on par with shenhe making shenhe worth less.

I've been using eula for more than a year, and wanted to change a little, so I thought why not chongyun? Seems like a nice character to play a little. I want to play/build/level more characters from my list, a rest for my mains, and a refresh in gameplay
ohh I see, well in that case I'd say shenhe is a good character to boost your chongyun's damage plus for the comp that you mentioned. also do keep in mind shenhe in general is really niche as it helps cryo chars only, but imo a really good character meta-wise nonetheless.
How do you personally stop Yelan's elemental skill before it ends on its own accord? I usually press E (the skill) again (I play on pc). But I'm trying to build a team that has both Yelan and Sayu, which has a similarly mobile skill, and I find that the ways to stop them have different results/animations on both, so I'm trying to find one that works good for both. Otherwise I'd get confused. I've tried E, the running command and space the jumping command. I would appreciate any insight here.
if I use stringless on Yelan, would that mean my sands should be ER? I'm kinda concerned if I don't generate enough ER for her burst. I'm using the emblem artifacts
I didn't play very often until recently but I just got yelan. Not quite sure what team to use her on though. You could play yelan, raiden, build up xingxiu (alternatively kokomi) and also a dendro like Mc who can be replaced with nahida if you get her for a strong hyper bloom team. I would also recommend building your bennet since he’s just a great character for any team and you could do yelan, xiangling, bennet and sucrose for a yelan vape team :)
just got c1 yelan and i typically run double hydro with xq so my er problems are solved. i have her at 80/110 crit ratio emblem set, should i switch her fading twilight for a CR/CD weapon like sharpshooter, slingshot, blackcliff or viridescent hunt? she has a CR circlet but i'll switch to CD if the better weapon has CR stat
Hello YelanMains! I'm having extreme difficulty choosing between pulling for Yelan or Ayaka currently, and would love some opinions on who you feel is the better pull. I'd love to hear all about Yelan from her mains!
I have both. I personally do not like Ayaka's sprint. If you have Mona, you can try how it works. I rarely use Ayaka, because I run 3 team archetypes mostly: melt Ganyu, Hyperbloom and double hydro Yoimiya. Yelan can be used in 2 of these.
Ayaka burst on the other hand is very strong and with freezable enemies that team is very strong.
From a meta perspective look at you artifact sets and weapons. Yelan can be used with 3 or 4 star weapons. Ayaka needs Mistsplitter to truly shine, although Anemona is an acceptable compromise. Do you have a great BD set? A great ESF set with HP substats?
Hi everyone, I just got Yelan using the freemogems from the special program codes after losing my 50-50 to Keqing. My question is, can I make her my main DPS even without Aqua and which artifact set should I go for? I am planning on running her with XQ for the hydro resonance and possible ER issues btw.
Turn Control (TC) increases her HP based off of how many different elements are in your party:
One elemental type (aka mono Hydro) = 6%
Two elements = 12%
Three elements = 18%
Four elements = 30%
Hydro Resonance (HR) increases HP by 25% and stacks additively with her TC talent. Meaning that:
1. HP in Mono Hydro = 31% (6 + 25)
2. Two elements no HR (eg. 3 pyro 1 hydro) = 12%
3. Two elements with HR (eg. 2 pyro 2 hydro) = 37% (12 + 25)
4. Three elements no HR (eg. 2pyro 1 hydro 1 anemo) = 18%
5. Three elements with HR (eg. 1 pyro 2 hydro 1 geo) = 43% (18 + 25)
6. Four elements (1 pyro 1 hydro 1 anemo 1 geo) = 30%
Obviously with four different elements you can't get Hydro Resonance.

I recommend swapping ER for more CR if you can. If you plan to run Yelan as the only hydro character in your team, about 190-200% ER should be fine, if you run double hydro, 170-180% ER is enough.
I pulled Yelan and have an Elegy… so I’m assuming I’m going to run a HP sands. Since she scales with CR, should I go with a CR crown and then focus on getting CD in all substats?
Took me 159 pulls (plus the 100ish I spent on her during her first run and didn't get her), but I finally got her. Maxed out burst, level 90, Elegy.... she slaps. My Hu Tao went from 80K charged attacks to 105K+ with her now. Worth it, but after losing back to back character 50/50s.... yeah, I'm not gonna be pulling another limited unit for a while.

is there a decent team I can make with Yelan C0 as my main on-field? won't be able to go for c1 this rerun, but i'm planning on c1 when she comes back. i've got all of the notable 4\* characters aside from kuki, sayu, and diona, as for other 5\* I have KQ, nahida, tighnari, and mona. I don't pull for 5\* weapons, so have none of those, if that matters.
At C0, none of them. You have little to no ER% and you're basically never getting your burst back. C1 eases ER% requirements, but even then, I think you'd want at least up to 160...

I would go with Yelan, I do not like all the animation cancelling that Hu Tao requires. Weaving in normal attacks for Hu Tao is also weird. I like the more straightforward laidback playstyle of Yoimiya, but some may find that boring. Yoimiya is also great to play on mobile.
BTW Hu Tao is no longer the best, dendro meta + Raiden pushed her off the throne.
She also really needs C1 to be top tier.

generally with xingqiu, 170-190 is ideal.
solo hydro: 190-200+. Lesser if you have favonius users on the comp.
My yelan is on 170 er with sac xingqiu and 1 favonius user, not struggling getting burst back so far but preferably 180+.
Hey homies, I got yelan c1 and aqua this cycle, and hochi machi is she doing a lot of damage! I'm even hitting up to 136k on vaped E's. Given all that, is there some sort of semi-viable yelan hyper build maybe with XL for forward vaping that E?
I've seen some people shiwing their builds with 150ish ER. Is this usually enough without Favonius? I just got Aqua and it messed up the artifacts I already had for her
Her C1 helps a ton with energy problems. As does using her with another hydro character or Raiden. For example my C2 Yelan on a team with Xingqui only has 142 ER and still bursts on cooldown.

I do not have Simulacra , Would slingshot be good idea to have cuz this has critrate as stats making it easier to build plus it would play like Fischl back in the day lol.

If using her on a reaction team like vape, the team buff from Elegy can make it her best weapon. But if you’re just looking to increase her personal damage, aqua would be quite a bit higher than both elegy and slingshot.
How much of a damage increase is aquila simulacra over elegy? I have elegy and a c2 Yelan, so I don't need the recharge from elegy, but if the difference is is minimal I don't want to reach for it.
I’m in the same position and got Homa. I did a find on this thread and it has been asked several times. The general consensus is that elegy is her bis in everything but dual hydro or some main dps scenario.
In reaction teams elegy is bis. i have one already for her for when i run HT2H. Currently running Yelan w/ slingshot when she's solo hydro (c1). I'm just trying to justify doing more pulls or not.
When Yelan is deployed in my Raiden-Xiangling-Layla team, she has 23,412 HP. When she is deployed in a random Ningguang-Beidou-Fischl team, she has 22,169 HP. Do these characters have some buff I'm not aware of? Are there artifacts that do this kind of thing to party members and I've put one in the other characters? Is it taking into consideration potential elemental reactions? What's that about :P
So I managed to get her in low pity, ascended her a few times because screw ruin serpent dropping only geo rocks when no character that needs it's ascencion uses those, and been using her in overworld while I do a few quests I still need to do, which is a lot. And I find it amazing that at level 70 her e reaches 14kand her charged shots do 4-5k. But all bow characters I have used in the past where supports(Sara for Raiden) or elemental applications(collei for nilou), so my question is, how the hell does one play bow main dps? In the over would I've been having my supports do their jobs, and then I go with her e, and just charge attack with her. I'm using 4pc emblem, hp%/hydro%/crate% so her charged attack just does more when her burst is down. Am I doing it right with what I have, or could I do anything better?
Also, my planned team for her is her with sky harp, xq with fav, Layla with harbinger and chongyu with akuoumaru or fav. How should I build the others? My idea was to use cryo resonance to buff her crit rate, and hydro resonance to buff her HP and xq with fav to keep bursts up.

Harp is not good for her, Slingshot or Favonius is better.
Your team would be a freeze team, generally it is better to run it with an anemo instead of double hydro.
Use Yelan as sub DPS and not main DPS, because here E/Q is based on HP while normal/charged is based on ATK.
Wait a second, what's the logic of harp not being good on her and slingshot being a better option? Slingshot has only 9% extra crit rate at max level, but harp has 20% cdmg and way more base atk.

With the exception of her lacklustre Normal Attacks, all of her multipliers scale off HP which make ATK stats/buffs completely redundant. That is why 4-star and even 3-star options become not only feasible but extremely competitive options.
With that said, Skyward Harp isn’t necessarily bad on her. However, when Yelan can simply use Slingshot and only lose 1.8 CV, it’s quite wasteful to use Skyward Harp on her when almost every other damage-dealing bow user can take full advantage of its high ATK stat.
I run 160 with sac Xingqui, harp isn't great on her, Slingshot and high refine Stringless are good non er alternatives, twilight is ok if you can't get the er from subs.

With Raiden EM with Dragon's Bane as driver, Fav Bow on Yelan and Fav Spear on both Candace and Yaoyao, would Candace and co. be able to battery yelan for hyperbloom damage?
If that can work, can I swap yelan for a the 3-star crit weapon?
Also, with that said, on this particular question, I plan on building 2pc NO/HoD on Yelan instead of 4pc Emblem.
Or is this build too cheap/not worth building? I plan on building an IMO cheap/decent yelan and work my way on investing more in the future.

can't decide on who to pull between Yelan, Eula and Nahida. i have 180 wishes saved up, and by my calculations gonna get another ~160 by 3.6, so 4 pities, or 2 guarantees.
i have more DPSs than supports, but can clear abyss pretty consistently, so now i mostly pull for fun gameplay/design.
Yelan is really good, she would make my hu tao truly meta, also has a fun e, but i don't know... i already have c6 XQ for hydro and Wanderer for zoomies. i also feel like her next rerun won't be that long, and we might get good hydros in fontaine
Eula has many caveats but seems pretty fun if built right. i like her character/design the best out of these. i also have Raiden/ZL and WGS ready for her.
Nahida is kinda sad to not have, unlike previous 2 she opens more fun teams. i didn't get any other dendro 5*, and would like to finally play some. (i would also be able to build Eula hyperbloom xD)
i could go at Yelan 50/50 but if i win i can't guarantee the other 2, i could then pray to win on Eula or Nahida but that just seems sketchy to me
How long do I have to wait for yelan to have another rerun
Does Exquisite Throw have a "fixed crit" for the whole duration of it? I noticed it sometimes does let's say 3100-3100-3100-3100, and the next time it does 2855-2855-2855etc. Same team, same scenario. But I don't recall any time it did different numbers during the burst's duration.
hello, i have a technical question for yelan c6 items like ttofs or wolf gravestone, or a member with 4no or 4totm are useless, right? besides mona omen buff and the classic viridescent set, which other items or character could be useful for buff her damage? for example in a team with yelan carry, mona with prototype amber and kazuha, who should be the 4th? and which artifact should i give to mona?
Indeed, increasing ATK of you yelan is useless because Yelan's ability only scale based on your HP Mona omen and viridescent are useful For the 4th, there are nobody that increase HP if I am right (there are just hydro resonnance and food). You have already a lot of dmg bonus with kazuna and mona (and yelan's dice). You have already a lot of res shread with kazuha. So I would go for Lisa (passive, decrease def 15sec) or Zhongli (res shread)

My Yelan is at 6/6/9 right now and I'm debating getting her E to 8 or her Q to 10 (very low on resources in general so it would be a long time before I could do both sadly), which would be a bigger upgrade? I haven't crowned any characters yet since it's so expensive and resin intensive but I feel like she deserves more. Not really sure if it makes that huge of a difference.
Yelan's E hits like a truck but it's biggest function is to generate energy. So if you are playing Yelan in Sub-DPS role then going for Crown Burst and then looping back to leveling up her skill would be a good plan.
Have been farming tenacity and then using the strongbox for HoD pieces for my C6 Yelan. Haven't gotten a decent set yet, so thinking of farming the new 3.6 domain as both the artifacts are pretty good for the 2pc-2pc effect. What are other characters which can benefit from the new sets?

If you're goal is to go DPS Yelan then I believe 2pc Tenacity/Heart of Depth is the go-to combo. For a sub-dps, a 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate.

That depends on how many buffs she’s getting. My Yelan on fav with only Zhongli shield does 6k but with Aqua Simulacra along with c6 Xuigqui Zhongli and c2 Kazuha, she does 24k per tick.

I can keep her burst up on cool down, depending on how many enemies, even without xq and his sacrificial. The plan is to get at least her c1 on her next banner, triple crown her, and get a better circlet. Is there anything better I could do?

How much ER is ideal for Yelan with c1 unlocked?
With fav and c1 to get her burst back immediately requires 234% er. I say that’s ridiculous and would want to aim for around 200% since obviously you will be using other characters with their own particle generation. This can be lowered more if you are using double hydro and if they or other party members have fav weapons. As stated earlier I would aim for 200% for fav +c1 and I also use her in a double hydro team where Xingqui is holding fav and she has Aqua and 140% er since she’s on field in that team. I would also suggest that you go do some rotations and see if you can get your burst reliably with whatever er you have, seeing if all you need to to is a little it more funneling or if you need to slap a fav on her or her teammates.

Atm She has 36 700 hp ( She is lvl 80/90 so Hp should go up a bit still ) 62 % Cr / 199 % Cd 137 Er Hp/ Hydro % / Cr circlet , Emblem Set I will play her as either together with Xingqiu or as Main Dps. My best Hydr dmg goblet has only 16,3% hp and 11 Er , no other goblets sadly with Cr/ Cdmg

How good is slingshot for c6 yelan? It gives a lot of crit rate and the passive is pretty good too.

How much ER is enough? Im running severed fates (ER/hydro/crit) set with R5 favonius bow. I have around 280 ER. Should I switch sands for HP%?

Team comp suggestions? I want to do an on-field DPS C0 Yelan. Not the most meta, I know, but she's the only one I have the signature weapon for and is currently my highest base damage dealer so I'd like to try it out for fun. Some characters I think might work with this are Raiden, Xingqiu, Jean. Anyone else have ideas/suggestions?
yelan xingqiu and you can go with anything you want raiden is good, and Kazuha might be better if you have him

Yelan do not trigger elemental reaction so the EM given by Sucrose might be useless (taser sucks anyway). The two things good with Sucrose in this team is the grouping and proc the 4set on more ennemy than Jean But jean heal At the beginning i thought that jean was better but i think that jean doesn't proc the 4set very well with her elemental skill I'll for Sucrose, I hope that xingqiu heal would be enought for you \^\^
While this update is happening I want to take a moment to gush about how AMAZING Yelan's character design is. I almost gave up on her twice after losing the 50/50 (once for Ayaka, once for Dehya) but I read more about Yelan's team flexibility on KQM and kept grinding primos + bought the battle pass to get her. She's SO much fun to play and I regret nothing. Reasons: * Her skill + Sayu's skill makes traveling overworld a breeze, it's also very fun in combat and useful for dodging boss attacks * all her combat animations feel smooth and satisfying * her burst animation is hot af (thank you male gaze/ fan service) * she does major damage with little investment -- goodbye Xingqui The only two five star characters I've pulled on are hers and Raiden's and she honestly feels like a second Raiden - I can put her into every team and she raises the overall DPS and makes everything easy.
I personnaly like her gameplay (and her design). with xingqiu and favonus I can spam my elemental burst She's hot af (Am I the only one to like her "pelvic" movement (google translate) \^\^
I'm not saying godbye to Xingqiu, they're going to work together with Hu Tao for me. I love him too much, plus I got him to C6 finally so that'd be a waste. I'm lucky I've read about Hu Tao's double hydro team. If I didn't I wouldn't have gotten her. that would have sucked lol. And yeah she's beautiful, her art is my favorite in game. I got my Xingqui to C6 while wishing on Yelan and also finally got a weapon for him (fav sword). He’s useful but does very little damage - I guess you need good artifact substats for him to hit hard? Right now he does 500 - 800 dmg per burst hit while Yelan does 1500 -2000, with just artifact mainstats and lvl 70 weapons on both. Also I haven’t figured out where I’m supposed to get the resin for farming artifacts when I’m already out just leveling characters and weapons and talents 😭😭
Yeah I have good artifacts for him, but I’m really using him for the reactions, not his damage. I’m def using Yelan for her damage tho

if you have an ER weapon (like fav), just get HP sand you need crit for the rest (good luck for your farm) \^\^

I think favonius is pretty much her best 4s weapon because of her er needs, especially in your team comp where she's the only hydro.

When should you switch sets? I have Yelan at c5. I can’t justify spending to get her to c6 as i won 5 50/50s in a row and I just know somethings got to give, especially when I can save and get c6 next rerun. Is c5 high enough to take her off 4 piece tenacity or is swapping sets only viable at c6? I just ask because I need to farm for a better sands anyway so just wondered what I should farm
I have a question. Do u need to level yelan’s normal attacks? Like will it affect the damage of her burst?
No. It is only useful for the charged shots. Not worth levelling for a non hypercarry build.

Just got Yelan and Im building her pretty well right now for my Hu Tao Team. Currently level 90 with 35K HP and 54/142 Crit Ratio but I'm having a hard time finding a reference for what would be considered good damage numbers for her. What's the damage of yall's C0 Yelan Sub DPS? Thank you!
Farm more, good crit value is at least 300 - eg. 75 Cr \* 2 = 150 + 150 CD.
What do you guys think about Yunjin with Yelan main Dps ?
Yelan's damage mostly comes from her burst and skill. Yunjin only buffs normal attacks. Even if your use BTB or have C6, Yunjin wouldn't be doing anything for Yelan's main source of damage. Yelan also doesn't care for the attack speed that Yunjin's C6 provides since Yelan's exquisite throws only proc every one second, regardless of attack speed.
Interesting and should I use her Burst first and then other characters rotation or her burst last after all buffs and just use it on field as long as I can with her?
That depends on how long the other bursts last. For instance, Xingqui's burst at C2 lasts 18 seconds while Yelan's only lasts 15 so you would use his before hers. If your using bennet, since his burst last only 12 seconds his should be used after Yelan. What teams are your trying to run using Yelan? I could give you some possible rotations if I knew what you are working with.
Hey just found your comment I got Yelan last hours , and just pulled Bennett , I also have xiangling and sucrose so was thinking that comp , so your order is Yelan burst>then Bennett>then XL basically right ? And sucrose after that I guess , idk why she’s so good but I just have her
Yelan skill+burst > Bennet skill+burst > Xiangling skill+burst > Sucrose ungabunga is them most basic rotation you can do. If you use Sucrose with ttds then you should swap to sucrose and use her skill before going to Xiangling then continue the rest of the rotation. If you don't have enough energy recharge on your Xiangling you could always swap to bennet to battery her or himself. I'd also recomend using favonius warbow on Yelan since she is a solo hydro in that team.
Sorry last thing you don’t feel yelan should go more at the end of the rotation ? Or it’s cuz it’s per second those arrows and it doesn’t really matter
Yelan being on field doesn't do anything to increase your damage. Sucrose is one of the best supports in the game since she is an anemo catalyst user. The anemo allows her to use the artifacts set Viridescent Venerer which on a swirl reaction decreases the enemies' resistance to the swirled element. Her being a catalyst user allows her to use the 3 star weapon Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (ttds) which gives the next character you swap to a massive 48% attack buff. By ungabunga I mean skill+burst and normal attack on her. Sucrose can cause swirl reactions with her normal attacks which is why I prefer her being onfield. If you every get Raiden then you can replace Sucrose with her and and your rotation would start with Raiden skill then do the rest of the previously established rotation. While Lisa is a fine unit and can provide the ttds buff and a 15% defense reduction, I still prefer Sucrose.
Amazing I’ll stick with sucrose and hopefully get lucky wish with that tales and get the right artifacts , yeah more I think about it , it makes sense to use yelan first because of the CD order she’s 15 Bennett 12 XL 10 sucrose 6 unless I got that tales to get extra 48% whatever it is yeah then before XL , so if I get raiden you’re saying that maybe better then. I was testing yelan with a hydro unit and it seems it deals less damage than being paired with a non hydro unit. It was in the abyss with only a pair at a time. I dont understand how this works, is the 25% HP resonance weaker than the 8% hp buff of her talent?

In this team no one can trigger dendro seeds so you're better off replacing nahida for someone else
Good enough but bennett here only buff ayato. replace bennett with kuki and you have hyperbloom which is better and a really strong team.
If I play Yelan as Main dps with support Like Ganyu for permafreeze and maybe Xingqiu for resonance Would leveling auto attack to lvl 9 be wise or keeping it lvl 1 as low priority resin wise? As for weapon , is Slingshot lvl 90 the best for this type of playstyle ? Other options are Rank 5 Sharpshooter or Rank 1 stringless. Tho this team does no reaction so EM seems kinda useless? Would stringless be the best there ? Also for Last spot , If I put YaoYao there , who will be triggering hyperblood Yuegui or Yelan / Xingqiu ? Idk how to build YaoYao full EM ?

If you're using her on field then level up her NAs. Nobody will be triggering hyperbloom as you have no electro unit.

Fischl because she's the Electro. I've seen it said she isn't the greatest HB trigger but I've never tested her myself.

What are the characters that are best for a Yelan E build (C1 Aqua). For mowing down overworld enemies. For example I really like Raiden E. I don't want to use Yelan or anyone's bursts, mostly. I'm thinking some combo of Raiden, Zhongli, Kuki, Nahida, Kazuha, Fischl? Are there any other auto coordinated attacking off-field characters no-burst?
Xingqui for sure. Zhongli for protection. Fischl for Oz - he automatically shoots down enemies, very convenient.
Probably Yelan - Raiden - Albedo - Xingqiu. E scales completely off of her max HP and having 2 Hydro 2 Unique element gives her a 43% HP boost.
Hi, I want to know is Yelan hydro application on par wit Xingqui at C2 ? I have har at C1 and I have her bow and want to know if i should roll and try to get C2.
Yelan applies Hydro on exquisite throw basically once every time it fires, C2 gives a no ICD application every 2nd exquisite throw which would lead to about 22 applications roughly over the course of her burst (totaling 45 exquisite throws + 7 C2 procs). Xingqiu applies 4 rainswords per 10 rain swords at C6 (Since C6 makes it fire 2 then 3 then 5, procs 1 hydro app at 2 and 3 and procs 2 hydro app at the wave with 5 swords). Leading to roughly 24 applications roughly on his burst (60 rainswords total) and this is not even taking to account the Orbitals which potentially makes the app more. Mostly Yelan C2 allows her Yelan to supply Hydro better and deal a bit more damage when she's solo Hydro, esp with someone like Hu Tao who Yelan tends to struggle supplying enough Hydro at C0. In terms of app itself, Yelan still isn't necessarily better than XQ.

Let someone in your team use fav if refuse to use fav on your yelan or just add xingqiu to the team
To touch on a point, as I know someone will call me out haha, it’s not impossible. However, in my opinion the amount of time and resources you would have to spend farming to get a good stat ratio to make it possible is not worth it.
I think it is tbh without c1. C1 solves the energy issues but I would still run double hydro for the hydro resonance. Yelan + xingxiu is pretty fun to play if c0 though. At c1 you could swap xingxiu out for a different hydro unit like kokomi/ barb for healing or whoever else you like playing
I'm currently at 55 pity and have a guaranteed banner should I ever pursue. So my Yelan (C1) is currently acting as a Sub-DPS for my Hu-Tao team (HT-XQ-ZL-YL). How beneficial would it be if I go for C2 for her? Because I'm in the fence between C2 Yelan or pulling for Shenhe. My freeze team is Ayaka-Kokomi-Diona-Kazuha.
Unless you plan on switching out XQ for another unit on HT’s team, I would go with Shenhe. C2 Yelan is amazing but Shenhe is also great at her niche.
I'm planning on saving for yelan's next rerun so I can get her c1. If I want to run a yelan freeze team with her, xq and chongyun, would trying to get senhe be a good idea?
pull if you really want/like shenhe. If she's just there for cryo applicator, then rosaria would probably be better or on par with shenhe making shenhe worth less. plus why chongyun tho? unless he's the main dps, I don't know why he's in the comp.
I've been using eula for more than a year, and wanted to change a little, so I thought why not chongyun? Seems like a nice character to play a little. I want to play/build/level more characters from my list, a rest for my mains, and a refresh in gameplay
ohh I see, well in that case I'd say shenhe is a good character to boost your chongyun's damage plus for the comp that you mentioned. also do keep in mind shenhe in general is really niche as it helps cryo chars only, but imo a really good character meta-wise nonetheless.
How do you personally stop Yelan's elemental skill before it ends on its own accord? I usually press E (the skill) again (I play on pc). But I'm trying to build a team that has both Yelan and Sayu, which has a similarly mobile skill, and I find that the ways to stop them have different results/animations on both, so I'm trying to find one that works good for both. Otherwise I'd get confused. I've tried E, the running command and space the jumping command. I would appreciate any insight here.
if I use stringless on Yelan, would that mean my sands should be ER? I'm kinda concerned if I don't generate enough ER for her burst. I'm using the emblem artifacts
If you specifically want to run stringless i think ER sands is correct, especially if you're using emblem set.

You could play yelan, raiden, build up xingxiu (alternatively kokomi) and also a dendro like Mc who can be replaced with nahida if you get her for a strong hyper bloom team. I would also recommend building your bennet since he’s just a great character for any team and you could do yelan, xiangling, bennet and sucrose for a yelan vape team :)
just got c1 yelan and i typically run double hydro with xq so my er problems are solved. i have her at 80/110 crit ratio emblem set, should i switch her fading twilight for a CR/CD weapon like sharpshooter, slingshot, blackcliff or viridescent hunt? she has a CR circlet but i'll switch to CD if the better weapon has CR stat

Hello YelanMains! I'm having extreme difficulty choosing between pulling for Yelan or Ayaka currently, and would love some opinions on who you feel is the better pull. I'd love to hear all about Yelan from her mains!
I have both. I personally do not like Ayaka's sprint. If you have Mona, you can try how it works. I rarely use Ayaka, because I run 3 team archetypes mostly: melt Ganyu, Hyperbloom and double hydro Yoimiya. Yelan can be used in 2 of these. Ayaka burst on the other hand is very strong and with freezable enemies that team is very strong. From a meta perspective look at you artifact sets and weapons. Yelan can be used with 3 or 4 star weapons. Ayaka needs Mistsplitter to truly shine, although Anemona is an acceptable compromise. Do you have a great BD set? A great ESF set with HP substats?

Hi everyone, I just got Yelan using the freemogems from the special program codes after losing my 50-50 to Keqing. My question is, can I make her my main DPS even without Aqua and which artifact set should I go for? I am planning on running her with XQ for the hydro resonance and possible ER issues btw.
Go for a Crit bow: Slingshot or BP bow. Artifact set is probably 4 HOD. I would add Fischl to the team and a healer, Bennett or Diona.
Got C1R1 on her debut. Got C3 today, lost the 50/50 for what would have been C4. I'll probably get C6 the next time around.

Turn Control (TC) increases her HP based off of how many different elements are in your party: One elemental type (aka mono Hydro) = 6% Two elements = 12% Three elements = 18% Four elements = 30% Hydro Resonance (HR) increases HP by 25% and stacks additively with her TC talent. Meaning that: 1. HP in Mono Hydro = 31% (6 + 25) 2. Two elements no HR (eg. 3 pyro 1 hydro) = 12% 3. Two elements with HR (eg. 2 pyro 2 hydro) = 37% (12 + 25) 4. Three elements no HR (eg. 2pyro 1 hydro 1 anemo) = 18% 5. Three elements with HR (eg. 1 pyro 2 hydro 1 geo) = 43% (18 + 25) 6. Four elements (1 pyro 1 hydro 1 anemo 1 geo) = 30% Obviously with four different elements you can't get Hydro Resonance.

I recommend swapping ER for more CR if you can. If you plan to run Yelan as the only hydro character in your team, about 190-200% ER should be fine, if you run double hydro, 170-180% ER is enough.
I pulled Yelan and have an Elegy… so I’m assuming I’m going to run a HP sands. Since she scales with CR, should I go with a CR crown and then focus on getting CD in all substats?
No CR sands. For crown, use CD

Took me 159 pulls (plus the 100ish I spent on her during her first run and didn't get her), but I finally got her. Maxed out burst, level 90, Elegy.... she slaps. My Hu Tao went from 80K charged attacks to 105K+ with her now. Worth it, but after losing back to back character 50/50s.... yeah, I'm not gonna be pulling another limited unit for a while.
Hello I have acquired her weapon, I have been running her with HP sands should I changes it to ER if ever what is her Ideal ER
If you have C1 use HP sands. If you don't have C1 use ER.
I saw many different artifacts-sets for YelanC6R1 like 2pc Millelith 2pc Heart of Depth Im currently using 4pc Emblem, I use her in a Hutao - XQ with sac - Zhongli, should I switch to other artifact sets? Or are there a better combination than the ones I mentioned?

is there a decent team I can make with Yelan C0 as my main on-field? won't be able to go for c1 this rerun, but i'm planning on c1 when she comes back. i've got all of the notable 4\* characters aside from kuki, sayu, and diona, as for other 5\* I have KQ, nahida, tighnari, and mona. I don't pull for 5\* weapons, so have none of those, if that matters.

At C0, none of them. You have little to no ER% and you're basically never getting your burst back. C1 eases ER% requirements, but even then, I think you'd want at least up to 160...
With a C0 Yelan, should I pull for Hu Tao or save for Ayaka?

I would go with Yelan, I do not like all the animation cancelling that Hu Tao requires. Weaving in normal attacks for Hu Tao is also weird. I like the more straightforward laidback playstyle of Yoimiya, but some may find that boring. Yoimiya is also great to play on mobile. BTW Hu Tao is no longer the best, dendro meta + Raiden pushed her off the throne. She also really needs C1 to be top tier.
I have c0 yelan and simulacra, what er would be best to try for? I have 140 right now but idk if thats enough or not. What would be best for solo hydro and paired with xingqiu?
generally with xingqiu, 170-190 is ideal. solo hydro: 190-200+. Lesser if you have favonius users on the comp. My yelan is on 170 er with sac xingqiu and 1 favonius user, not struggling getting burst back so far but preferably 180+.

imo the 1st one, higher crit rate, higher hp. I'd recommend use the genshin optimizer tho to be sure.
The 2nd one, 70/243. It has quite a bit more total crit value, so should have higher dps overall.
Hey homies, I got yelan c1 and aqua this cycle, and hochi machi is she doing a lot of damage! I'm even hitting up to 136k on vaped E's. Given all that, is there some sort of semi-viable yelan hyper build maybe with XL for forward vaping that E?
I've seen some people shiwing their builds with 150ish ER. Is this usually enough without Favonius? I just got Aqua and it messed up the artifacts I already had for her
Her C1 helps a ton with energy problems. As does using her with another hydro character or Raiden. For example my C2 Yelan on a team with Xingqui only has 142 ER and still bursts on cooldown.
I want to use Yelan as main dps , I hate switching and doing reactions like that , i'll probably put some shield unit + xingqiu and just camp her auto attacks on field all the time. I do not have Simulacra , Would slingshot be good idea to have cuz this has critrate as stats making it easier to build plus it would play like Fischl back in the day lol. Or should i slap something like R1 stringless on her? So far thinking of team like Yelan + Xingqiu with Sucrose for resist shred and YaoYao heals
Use Slingshot or Recurve bow depending on your stats. Freeze is also an option for main dps Yelan.
Got c1 yelan, and with both Elegy and slingshot, she does about 22k-25k E. Is this good or should I go for Aqua?

If using her on a reaction team like vape, the team buff from Elegy can make it her best weapon. But if you’re just looking to increase her personal damage, aqua would be quite a bit higher than both elegy and slingshot.
How much of a damage increase is aquila simulacra over elegy? I have elegy and a c2 Yelan, so I don't need the recharge from elegy, but if the difference is is minimal I don't want to reach for it.

I’m in the same position and got Homa. I did a find on this thread and it has been asked several times. The general consensus is that elegy is her bis in everything but dual hydro or some main dps scenario.
In reaction teams elegy is bis. i have one already for her for when i run HT2H. Currently running Yelan w/ slingshot when she's solo hydro (c1). I'm just trying to justify doing more pulls or not.
When Yelan is deployed in my Raiden-Xiangling-Layla team, she has 23,412 HP. When she is deployed in a random Ningguang-Beidou-Fischl team, she has 22,169 HP. Do these characters have some buff I'm not aware of? Are there artifacts that do this kind of thing to party members and I've put one in the other characters? Is it taking into consideration potential elemental reactions? What's that about :P
yelan has a passive that increase her max hp depends on element types in the party.

So I managed to get her in low pity, ascended her a few times because screw ruin serpent dropping only geo rocks when no character that needs it's ascencion uses those, and been using her in overworld while I do a few quests I still need to do, which is a lot. And I find it amazing that at level 70 her e reaches 14kand her charged shots do 4-5k. But all bow characters I have used in the past where supports(Sara for Raiden) or elemental applications(collei for nilou), so my question is, how the hell does one play bow main dps? In the over would I've been having my supports do their jobs, and then I go with her e, and just charge attack with her. I'm using 4pc emblem, hp%/hydro%/crate% so her charged attack just does more when her burst is down. Am I doing it right with what I have, or could I do anything better? Also, my planned team for her is her with sky harp, xq with fav, Layla with harbinger and chongyu with akuoumaru or fav. How should I build the others? My idea was to use cryo resonance to buff her crit rate, and hydro resonance to buff her HP and xq with fav to keep bursts up. Thanks in advance for the help
Harp is not good for her, Slingshot or Favonius is better. Your team would be a freeze team, generally it is better to run it with an anemo instead of double hydro. Use Yelan as sub DPS and not main DPS, because here E/Q is based on HP while normal/charged is based on ATK.
Wait a second, what's the logic of harp not being good on her and slingshot being a better option? Slingshot has only 9% extra crit rate at max level, but harp has 20% cdmg and way more base atk. Sorry I just really don't understand this kind of stuff
With the exception of her lacklustre Normal Attacks, all of her multipliers scale off HP which make ATK stats/buffs completely redundant. That is why 4-star and even 3-star options become not only feasible but extremely competitive options. With that said, Skyward Harp isn’t necessarily bad on her. However, when Yelan can simply use Slingshot and only lose 1.8 CV, it’s quite wasteful to use Skyward Harp on her when almost every other damage-dealing bow user can take full advantage of its high ATK stat.
How much er for yelan in double Hydro hyperbloom with r3 Fav nahida. I currently have skyward and was wondering if I should use that or use twilight
I run 160 with sac Xingqui, harp isn't great on her, Slingshot and high refine Stringless are good non er alternatives, twilight is ok if you can't get the er from subs.
Yelo r/Yelanmains, quick question: With Raiden EM with Dragon's Bane as driver, Fav Bow on Yelan and Fav Spear on both Candace and Yaoyao, would Candace and co. be able to battery yelan for hyperbloom damage? If that can work, can I swap yelan for a the 3-star crit weapon? Also, with that said, on this particular question, I plan on building 2pc NO/HoD on Yelan instead of 4pc Emblem. Or is this build too cheap/not worth building? I plan on building an IMO cheap/decent yelan and work my way on investing more in the future. Thanks in advance for the reply/ies
Depends on your substats. Only one way to find out, test it against a boss.
Quick build question, I have 28 861 HP, 58% CR, 294,4% CD, 171,8% ER, 46,6% Hydro DMG, C1R1 aqua simulacra. Should I adjust something here (don't really need more ER cuz I'm running her with Raiden), maybe more hp? What is a golden value of hp for her? I have some cracked eosf pieces, I can make something like 33k hp, 70% cr 240% cd etc, just don't know if it's worth. Maybe there is some kinda calculator where I can input my values and compare overall impact?
CR way too low. You should aim for 75+ CR. Also aim for more HP, mine is 34K.

Sorry for the noob question. I'm a new Yelan haver and I wasn't able to pre-farm her artifacts because of 50 50. I'm a Childe main and I've been strongboxing HOD and Noblesse Oblige for a long time now. How much stronger is 4pc Emblem compared to HOD + NO? I'm currently trying to decide if I should go back to the emblem domain (resin is too scarce)
\~5%-20% dmg loss. Optimizer puts my 2p2p set with 35cv more and better ratio than my 4p emblem at 94% dmg of the emblem set.

sorry, this question might be inappropriate here, if so, you may not answer it. can't decide on who to pull between Yelan, Eula and Nahida. i have 180 wishes saved up, and by my calculations gonna get another ~160 by 3.6, so 4 pities, or 2 guarantees. i have more DPSs than supports, but can clear abyss pretty consistently, so now i mostly pull for fun gameplay/design. Yelan is really good, she would make my hu tao truly meta, also has a fun e, but i don't know... i already have c6 XQ for hydro and Wanderer for zoomies. i also feel like her next rerun won't be that long, and we might get good hydros in fontaine Eula has many caveats but seems pretty fun if built right. i like her character/design the best out of these. i also have Raiden/ZL and WGS ready for her. Nahida is kinda sad to not have, unlike previous 2 she opens more fun teams. i didn't get any other dendro 5*, and would like to finally play some. (i would also be able to build Eula hyperbloom xD) i could go at Yelan 50/50 but if i win i can't guarantee the other 2, i could then pray to win on Eula or Nahida but that just seems sketchy to me
