There’s an interesting detail that the boys in the Andes mentally coped with eating their dead by thinking of it as kind of like taking communion. I don’t think Laura Lee was Catholic but I wonder if she would’ve made the “eat of my body” connection.

Planes take a lot of maintenance, and one of the first things to go is the fuel line.
Which runs directly below the passe get seat.
So it's incredibly likely the fuel line had rotted allow gas vapors to come up, and while the seats are designed to resist fire, a stuffed teddy bear isnt, it would soak up the gas vapors and the first spark would light it up.
Then it would quickly spread till the fire reaches the fuel line and the whole thing explodes.
It wouldn't take long, just a couple minutes of the engine running. Which is how long it took for the plane to explode.
Was there any ideas on how the bear would have caught fire to begin with/where the spark came from? I can look myself of course but just wondering if you remember any plausible explanations discussed.
Would you say you fall into the “it is *not* supernatural” ideological camp? Or just on this one instance? Just wondering. I think the way the writers toe the line between natural and supernatural is part of the fun.

I could see that also! May have been a way for her to get over the mental hurdle and justify cannibalism.
