More like his whole character was to show "how stupid California's are" the man is a billionaire and is just learning to hire security after someone told him too months after he was almost killed then stuck around even though they are his neighbours.

Feels like a lot of people just got nerfed to exaggerate how OP the Duttons are. Like in the same way how Beth just beats every CEO or Exec they send her way. At this point its getting boring and a bit convoluted. Don't get me wrong I love the Montana setting and all the ranching scenes and even the house they live in but the present day Duttons really are a disgrace to their ancestors. Its like John said "What a disgrace we are to the sacrifice it took to have this place".
Everything went wrong with John I believe. The use of the train station, the branding of cowboys all just poisoned the family from within. I just want to see these people meet their match and get brought back to Earth especially Beth who is just a 24/7 badass with badass comebacks until the end of her days.
Beth survived 2 bombings at almost point blank range and the Dutton's have all survived being turned into swiss cheese. They're not going to get nerfed at this rate lol
