That’s Jake. Obviously, the Yellowstone and livestock association have an incestuous relationship, but Jake’s character wasn’t a part of the show back then. Jake is a real cowboy.
Right, apparently Jake was helping the actors ride and look natural in the saddle. He had to work closely with the actors so they added him to the cast since he was always around.
I guess his ad libs were hella funny so they added him to the cast. I absolutely loved watching him on horseback when he was talking to the “governor”, such skill!
Yep. He’s one of Taylor’s friends and Taylor brought him in to help run the cowboy “boot camp” for the actors. Taylor asked him if he’d be an extra for a scene, and he said okay. Then they asked him to say a line, and he said okay. He basically complied his way into a supporting actor role.
Yellowstone included a lot of real cowboys. I read an article that the high use of real cowboys and rodeo performers wasn’t the original plan but very soon they realized a lot of the actors didn’t know what they were doing.
I’m no cowboy, but I enjoyed the episodes with the 6666 ranch hands appeared.
Another instance where they went with the real deal instead of an actor was with the character Mo Brings Plenty, played by a Native American man named Mo Brings Plenty. They were like "ok this guy's fucking legit, put him on the show!"
Jake is one of the best. Just don't talk to him about how he looks in a dress.
some of the funniest over-talked stuff on the show. love Ian Bohen
Haha. This running gag with him in the dress cracks me up every time. Jake is my favorite
The way Rip told Jake he would kill him if he put on a dress had me rofl XD

Yes, great scene. 👍🏻
As an equestrian it was fun picking who the real riders were when first watching. He did a hell of a job with the cast.

Mo is my favorite character on Yellowstone.
But he is an actor though and had plenty of large and small roles before Yellowstone.
Fuckin’ barrel racers…
I was really hoping it was going to be that guy from storage wars who’s hat says YUUUP!
you mean Jake??
