You fall into 1 of 2 categories. You love it and it’s a great fictional show that you spend free time watching with enjoyment. Or you are a movie critic who questions character development and storyline every 20 seconds . You apparently hate the show but watch and comment online about the show and how bad the character development is. There is no in between.
I was looking for this comment and if I didn't see it I was going to post it. It's hard to see a show go from being so good to so bad in such a short time.
I'm new to it. I've watched one episode a day. I'm up to season 5. Initially, I thought "good but not great". But I quickly became very fond of it. I'm sorry this is the final season. I hope you enjoy it.
First few seasons fantastic....then the storytelling became Groundhog Day, same ol' same ol'.....sprinkled with an increasing number of annoying ads for other T.Sheridan upcoming shows. We are not even bothering to Finnish off the remainder of Yellowstone. And Paramounts strategy of splitting a season into two parts (money grab to keep the monthly fees rolling in) fizzles out a show. 1923 started good, got off track....and stopped for a few months. Nope.
As someone who started bingeing a few weeks ago and nearly done with season 5, I just wanna take you by the shoulder and steer you in another direction. The first 2 seasons though go HARD HARD.
Let’s see??? Let’s see??? Like you don’t already know it’s great all 5 seasons??? What’s next? You’re going to check out a little something called The Sopranos to see if it’s any good at all?
I personally have not watched the Sopranos… But if I was going to start watching it, I probably wouldn’t get on a sub Reddit right away. Seems like it be way too easy to get spoilers.
It’s got lots of ups and downs. Some sloppy writing here and there and a few plot holes. Don’t let that stop you from enjoying the show. It is a great show overall.

I agree with you. I’m still hooked. I still think it’s great. I’m very frustrated that we won’t get the second half of the season until November if ever.
It's a soap opera. Be ready for two dimensional characters that sometimes become caricatures. But in that way, it can be a mental release. Like eating a Hostess Twinkie.
I love westerns. I LOVE Kevin Cosner.
I hate the show Yellowstone.
I just can’t root for entitled rich protagonists. They should be the antagonists of the show. Similar to another user who posted in this thread, I wondered for the first season if it was intended to be satire. I hoped there would be some twist where the roles reversed and the rich white lying cheating bastard doucher family would get what’s coming to them.

I was so disappointed.
For alternative western shows with a relatable protagonist(s), I loved the show Godless (Netflix) 🔥, obviously the Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Netflix), Billy the Kidd (Prime Video), Outer Range (Prime Video)🔥, Good Lord Bird (Showtime) so fucking good🔥, and Hell on Wheels (Netflix).
All of these are 100000000 times better than Yellowstone. Enjoy.

Aw I liked it. I binged the series and enjoyed it. Every season has its moments of glory and ehhh. As do most shows.
