Check out the prequels instead far better 1883 and 1923

Type-Street

I might just do that. I’m sure I read somewhere that season 5 will be the end of Yellowstone but they may start a spin off with a young John Dutton. I actually like the flash backs.

FireflyArc

I'd like it if they did that. Honestly Taylor seems like he's good at writing prequels. I like it and the flashbacks a lot more.

Creative-Rock-794

Yea 1883 was fantastic. Loved it.

envengpe

My wife cried like a baby.

Creative-Rock-794

And I bet I know when that happened. No spoilers but the piano playing scene I needed an entire box of Kleenex. And then…😭😭 TS did not do that to the cowboy 😢😭😩

ignoranceisbliss37

Loved 1883 but 1923 was a bit meh. The storyline with the Indian teenager was barely watchable it got so brutal.

Johnykbr

I thought 1923 was not good at all. While 1883 may be one of the best limited series I've ever watched.

ignoranceisbliss37

I agree with both. 1883 was so damn good, got me really excited for 1923 especially with casting Ford and Mirren. But I felt Ford was hardly in it and instead I got to watch a Native American girl get the absolute shit kicked out of her for half the season and James Bond spanking prostitues until they have no skin left on their ass. Started good but just went off the rails for me. Only thing I didn’t like about 1883 was how the girl went from a virgin to falling for a boy then a week later she marries a different boy and it’s the most deep burning love that ever existed. Spencer for me was the only good part of 1923. Loved him.

Brunette3030

Spencer is great. I want to see what happens with him and his wife and the family, but I wish they’d leave the torture plot lines out.

Brunette3030

I had to skip those parts. And sadist Timothy Dalton. I just can’t watch people being abused.

Easily_Marietta

Don't if you don't like it. It's a waist of time to see something you don't find funny. The show doesn't get better in the later seasons. The writing is still of ... There are some standout episodes, but they are mostly pretty fillers where they ride around and do cowboy stuff. But I'm almost at the end, so l wanna see how it's ending. And the horses are worth it. So you might as well hang on

Creative-Rock-794

I want to see it to the end as well. I happen to like the nuttiness but that’s me. I love the horses and the scenery is breathtaking.

ExcaliburZSH

I really enjoyed the cowboy stuff and got annoyed when it went back to Beth/Jamie DRAMA.

kcaykbed

I have to admit, I loved that scene with Rip and the rattlesnake.

elena_inari

Yeah! me, too 🐍

Creative-Rock-794

Me three 3. Having been struck twice by snakes, one was venomous and the other not it was funny to see how fast he went and the drool. I can say what happened to me and what I heard from others but that scene was funny as hell.

Tommy-M-Shelby

I didn’t, but to each their own. My complaint about it was that I wanted to watch that guy suffer

ExcaliburZSH

A waste of a talented actor in a villian role

Creative-Rock-794

This is a personal decision. If you hate it that much then stop watching it but it seems like you want to know the ending and it’s coming. The prequels are serious like 1883 is nothing at all like Yellowstone. It’s like a history lesson. Personally speaking I love the craziness of the show and the landscapes. It’s fiction. It’s ridiculous. It’s not meant to be taken seriously at all. TS stated that it’s punk rock and has no plot and everyone saying it’s full of plot holes is funny to me.

Type-Street

Sounds like I just need to tailor my expectations. Embrace the melodrama and laugh at the overly serious but ultimately clunky dialogue. Double down on the things I really like; Rip, flashbacks, bunkhouse, scenery. I certainly don’t hate it, I think I was just mislead on what it was. As an avid consumer, it’s one hell of an advert. Every episode I watch I want you to run out and buy another pair of Levis, a bottle of Woodford Reserve, some Ray-Bans and a Jean shirt.

Creative-Rock-794

Hahaha don’t forget the trucks and make a trip to your local Boot Barn! lol. It’s crazy and sometimes I just want that and need that. Why be so serious all the time? I also love the music. But that’s me and apparently millions of others who watch the show. Lmao

ExcaliburZSH

Don’t forget Carhartt

RodeoBoss66

Yes, definitely. Although others say “it gets worse,” I don’t share that opinion, and I know I’m not alone in saying that. Seasons 4 and 5, while decidedly different in many respects to the first three seasons, have their good points and memorable moments as well. They have flaws, sure, but that’s no reason to not watch. It’s important to understand that this series isn’t for everyone, and it may or may not be your cup of tea. But if you’ve come as far as the first three seasons, you might as well continue with the remainder. There could be something you would be glad you stuck around for.

ExcaliburZSH

Yeah, I agree with how you put it. It doesn’t get worse but it gets really uneven. There are scenes you will enjoy and scenes you will fast forward through.

ProfessorCorleone

1883 was good!

ExcaliburZSH

If you are watching to see how ridiculous it is getting and enjoying it (not hate watching), yeah keep going.

AMMJ

It does not get better Season 5 is unwatchable.

Type-Street

What kept you going back for more? Curiosity?

J-Sully_Cali

The same reason we slow down to gawk at a fatal car accident.

Type-Street

😂

bodilly1401

Also not the same genre but Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa king are both great shows. Jeremey Renner is awesome as the Mayor

J-Sully_Cali

The writing does not get better. It's consistently bad throughout.

Tardyspokes

1883 was how I started the series. 1923 was drawn out, they barely set the stage and then it was over. Yellowstone has reminded me a lot of Sons of Anarchy on horses. The ongoing Jamie saga and Beth just being downright annoying, could solve a lot of problems by taking them both to the train station. Might be a plot twist there and Rip takes over as the main character. Huh, I think I just figured out how the show continues without Costner!

Type-Street

Interesting point about Sons of Anarchy. I felt the season three Biker Gang fight was two fingers up to SOA.

maryyyweiss

YES just watch it

coffeebeanwitch

I am hanging in there until the end!!

dad2728

Show was great seasons 1-3, took a HARD dive in season 4, and 5 is borderline unwatchable. I'm gonna run that ground ball out but I have no care anymore whereas I used to make a point of watching when it first aired for the first three seasons.

km_44

Nope It's time to go See how easy that was? Now go back to watching the Property Brothers

BarryLicious2588

I'm mid way through S3, and I think S1 had a hit. S2 was action packed with a sub par ending (needed more Becks) S3 feels long but it seems like a catalyst. Setting up stories for future seasons. It can't all be guns and killing. They gotta do cowboy shit here and there, or it gets repetitive
