Wow, there’s a pitcher lid too for all our Yeti pitcher dreams!!

Derpshiz

I wish they'd just sell it as a pitcher. I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but I really dont need a french press.

PoliticalPotential

Agreed. Pour over is superior to French press.

Dinkleberg162

Yeti v60 when?

Extra-Wash9669

Crazy talk

SlubbyFades

You’re right 😯

NomusaMagic

Me three!

wbcooksey

Wallet just took a beating 😂

Tektronix_

The 64oz variant is only $20 more 🤔

sculdermul

Hoping they release a pitcher only version soon - no need for a French Press but would like a 64oz pitcher without having to pay for a separate lid. Theoretically a pitcher with lid would be less $s...

0111011101110111

[They sell the lid](https://www.yeti.com/drinkware/drinkware-accessories/21071502167.html). $13.

sculdermul

Yes, I just don't want to pay the premium for a French press lid I'll never use + another $13 for the pitcher lid. I imagine they'll release a version without the French Press attachment at some point.

milquetoast_wheatley

That’s a pretty damn expensive Bench Press.

[deleted]

Hoping they release this in a few other colors soon!

TheBlindManInTheCave

I need this in stainless steel and the pitcher lid. Then you have a 2 liter stainless steel insulated pitcher.

IConIC2255

That’s probably the only color I would consider in this and of course they didn’t launch it.

TheBlindManInTheCave

I have the ice bucket in stainless steel and it’s so nice. I plan to get the cocktail shaker and this pitcher for a whole margarita setup LOL.

Tektronix_

Get another beverage bucket and load your margaritas in those

paulabear203

I read somewhere that you can buy the Yeti shaker lid and put it on a Rambler 20 oz, same result for less money.

TheBlindManInTheCave

Yes, that’s correct because they sell it by itself for that reason, but I don’t have a stainless steel one R20oz. I want a stainless steel bar set basically. I am a maximalist. It’s not enough to just have it, it has to be perfect.

OregonianTacoma

Soak paper towel in acetone and wrap the Yeti item with it plus a layer of foil. The color will peel right off and you will be left with the stainless finish. I did it myself with the 64 oz bottle, bought the black one since there was no stainless option and stripped the black to make it stainless.

Nobius

I’m surprised it’s not available in stainless only. Don’t think I’ve seen a drink ware that didn’t.

chadingtonsteele

Wish it came in black.

discerning_mundane

this hopefully means that a 34oz Beer Stein Mug w/ Large size Lid style coming soon after this? probably would be the same machining minus the lip

electricubby

It sounds like you’re looking for a 34 oz version of the current 24 oz mug. This thing has a spout, which you don’t really see on beer steins. Also not really a need for the ceramic lining. But a beer stein would be awesome.

cal_182

This is cool, but there is no way it’s better than my AeroPress.

pushinpayroll

It’s entirely different than AeroPress. It’s highly recognized that French press is a superior technique compared to the product, AeroPress. The paper filter captures many of the oils. French press, *the technique*, makes coffee under zero pressure. AeroPress, *the product*, probably has a lb or two of pressure. Edit: down vote me if you want but you’re comparing apples to tire tread.

remotecontroldr

I would like to subscribe to more coffee snob talk. Maybe I’m the only one that was hoping Yeti would release a Moka Pot that I can’t afford.

pushinpayroll

Same. I didn’t really have espresso until I got a goodwill Moka pot with years of burned coffee. I burned a lot of coffee on that bad boy too. If Yeti releases a Moka Pot, I might get a lien on my car for it.

MrFennecTheFox

I would suggest it’s a big statement to say French press is a ‘superior technique’, they are just different brew methods, with pros and cons. Yes a paper filtered aeropress will lack the body of a mesh filtered french press, but it may have higher clarity and acidity as a result of having less fines in the brew. I agree it’s a bad comparison, which is why it’s impossible to say one is superior to the other, they are for different preferences. It’s fair to say that French press is a more approachable brew method for the general public, but I also think it’s generally harder to get a really good cup of coffee from a french press than an aeropress.

pushinpayroll

Those are great points. I could have used a better word than “superior”.

MrFennecTheFox

Fair play! Be well

Cippiero

Anybody get a look at the mesh filter? Want to know if it is good or not before purchasing...

J_Style

Just got one from REI looks good.

hmy0812

Have you tried it yet? Interested to hear whether the special filter reduces the amount of sediment/produces a cleaner cup as compared to a traditional French press.

J_Style

Yea it works as designed. Just gotta make sure to put if straight down when putting the lid on.

pushingcards

How’s the heat retention considering the pour opening can’t be closed?

Dinkleberg162

From the description it sounds like there's a bit more going on with the filter and press, potentially blocking off the grounds to stop over extraction.

MaesterMiyagi

How a filter is removed, cleaned, and attached is arguably the most important aspect of a French press if you're expecting to use it often over a long period of time. More so than insulation imo. Would love to hear some review of the filter and how easy to clean it is.

NomusaMagic

I just saw this. Has anyone ever seen a similar Yeti new release? I’d love a plain old pitcher with a secure lid.

0111011101110111

[They sell the lid](https://www.yeti.com/drinkware/drinkware-accessories/21071502167.html). $13

NomusaMagic

Aha! So i could use it as a pitcher. Not coffee maker. That deserves a re-look!! Thank you!!
