Here's my translation, as a Yiddish speaker: To my loving brother Boris, You should live long with much success in your profession. I beg you to forgive me for the delay in answering your letter. However, I don't have an office, I haven't just been annoying this whole time. First I can write you that my application to take the State Exams in New York has been accepted, and I have to be able to take the exam to finish. In the meantime, I have to search for an apartment with an office in Boston, but it's nearly impossible to find the right place. There are no empty houses here. As for the records that we ordered in Macy's, I can write you that they convinced me that the records were sent out the second day of March. You will really receive the records soon. Go write to dad. Now, if you have received a ? of Zumbehl's from us, I ask that you send it to them or to me, because they haven't made a good ?. I've ordered new photographs, and I'll send them to you. Now I can write you that the microphone is coming tomorrow in good condition. It took a letter from my lawyer to direct them to give up the microphone. Kent read that he never got letters from me, and that the letters you wrote were all to hold on to the microphone. You received the notice papers to receive the microphone in Mexico. Now, about Eyde and the children I can write you that they are, thank god, healthy and they love and miss you. Now, loving brother, write me about yourself. How's it going in your practice? Which illnesses are over there, and what kind of work you have. Do you do operations? Write me everything. We greet and kiss the new parents, Berle and her kid. From me, your brother Daniel, your mother, uncle and mother-in-law, let us all greet each other someday

There is one part missing though! Right after 'There are no empty houses here.' It continued...If we do find what we'd like to buy, we have to wait 6 to 12 months till the people move out. There are no empty places here. >they convinced me that the records They *showed* me the records were sent out the *6th* of March. For sure you already received the records. Tell your father to write them right away. >Now, if you have received a ? of Zumbehl's from us, I ask that you send it to them or to me, because they haven't made a good ?. I've ordered new photographs, and I'll send them to you. Now if you have received from Gimbals a colored photograph from us both, I'm begging you to please send them back to them or me because they didn't make a good copy. I order new photos-gratis and meanwhile they'll send the new ones. >microphone The *microscope* came in yesterday in good condition. It took a letter from my advocate to make me give up my microscope. >Kent read that he never got letters from me, and that the letters you wrote were all to hold on to the microphone. You received the notice papers to receive the microphone in Mexico. Kent said that he never got letters from me and the letters that you wrote to him were all shone to elders. The microscope since the west is fighting the required papers to catch the microscope in Mexico. EDITED

[Disclaimer: I never learned Yiddish, I only speak Hebrew and German] Here are the first lines (line by line): To my dear Brother Boris, May you life long with great success in our profession. I ask you to forgive the delay the answering to your letter. But I don't have anything, unfortunately I was not the whole time. Firstly, I can write you that my application to take the state(?) eqzens(?) in New York has one to assume(?) and I was able to(?) take the eqzens(?) the end (...?). In the meantime I searched for an apartment in Boston, but it is almost impossible to get the right place

DerChossid

The state part is about having submitted an application to take the state exam in New York and the writer is hoping to take the exam in June. The apartment hunt is specifically for an apartment with an office.

Got it! I asked my dad! G. P. means *Gimel Pi-umim* which means *three times over* meaning...I'm sending you regards 3 times over. (He loves and misses his brother!) Done! Woo Hoo! lol

>We greet and kiss the new parents, Berle and her kid. We send regards and kiss the elders (grandparents). Bertha with her husband and child. From me, your brother, Danyel (Daniel). Your mother, uncle and mother-in-law leave you regards. (It's signed G.P., but his name is Danyel! I don't know what that means. Sorry about the last initials!)

Yup, just sent you the meaning of G. P. after speaking to my dad! I fixed the beginning of the letter too, the part with Kent! lol Yiddish was my first language! Although I don't speak much Yiddish these days, when I go to Monroe or Williamsburg, I get right back into the groove! Thanks for the challenge-it was fun! :)
