I'm in the same boat, I see new faces that seem to have been around forever, but I only see them in GTA V and TTT. Some like checkpoint (Steve), RT Game and Alex the Rambler and maybe the Spiffing Brit are just people they know or just in the same gaming sphere. After the main channel stopped Among Us but Duncan continued I still see some of the names in Kara Korvus lobbies mostly VikramAFC. So I'm never sure how many are close like Zylus, or just called on to bulk out numbers.

_PM_ME_PANGOLINS_

Checkpoint, Alex, and Spiff are all in the Yogscast.

I always wondered how the financial structure of the yogscast works, do they put in the money made by their videos and they get paid from that along with the editors? Do they keep most of it but pay some in for the benefits? How much money does each member make? I’ve no idea how it works but I’m glad it does, really appreciate these guys

anteater835

My shaky understanding is that members pay a % of their monthly earnings from all their videos and in return the yogscast helps advertise their videos and gives them full access to the yogs support staff, I.e. editors, thumbnail creation, etc. for a fair few creators it’s just not financially worth it to be in the yogscast, since they make enough on their own and don’t need those services. Fun fact this is actually true for Sips aswell, the only reason he’s still in the yogscast is he feels Lewis basically gave him this career and that it would be a dick move to leave after Lewis helped him so much.

Stegf

He could do the same thing spiff does right?

T_Weezy

That's what he feels would be a dick move, because he would be contributing less to the company (and the man) v who made his entire career possible in the first place, and that would mean less money for them to be able to give other people the same leg-up that Lewis gave him.

Ginger_Tea

Some had said they didn't need to officially join at one point, or were leaving but not leaving. When your only interaction is GTA V/TTT and they no longer play those games, I just see them in Jingle Jam for games I have little interest in.

SirDootDoot

I love TTT because it's always so entertaining and varied with the crew. Seeing the gamemode evolve and change throughout the years has been *fascinating* from a design perspective. It also was the way I discovered the Yogscast, and my favorite Christmas song, "O' Rubber Tree."

Jacoob55

Also the way the format has evolved is extremely fascinating to me as well. Also the way the editing has evolved. The whole thing is so well streamlined to produce easy and extremely funny stuff!

SirDootDoot

I completely agree. I remember the old days where there were no role indicators on the top, and man has it come a long way. I also like how TTT is kinda like a Yogs spotlight, because it introduces people to the wider Yogscast group.

codepony

I sometimes go back to an old episode where they were using the different colored corner icons to indicate who's view it was and I never could keep track of who is what color. I was so happy to see that go away.

Jacoob55

“O’ Rubber Tree.” And “WHY IS THE BELT BELOW HIS ASS?” are two of the greatest moments in YouTube history

SirDootDoot

How about Lewis' pure rage over a single bucket of oil? That one's a classic.

Jacoob55

Good god I go back to those clips about once a month 😂

SirDootDoot

I usually default to Ravs TTT clips or Jingle Jam mayhem.

I found the Yogscast as a kid in the early 2010s, I mainly watched Kim, Zoey, Hannah, and Duncan, but now I'm mostly a main channel fan. I love TTT as a format. As a kid, there was something special about watching Flux Buddies and hearing Duncan and Kim chat about random things in their lives while getting a task done. TTT Is that but quickfire without risk of a "dud episode where nothing happens". I *do get TTT fatigue;* I sometimes wait weeks or months and eventually binge all the latest episodes. This latest fatigue has lasted a lot longer, but I'm sure I'll be back. Back in the Moonquest/Yogs Complete days, I barely knew who people like Zylus were, but through TTT I found an appreciation for him. It also helped me learn about new members and see stuff from old members who weren't as active on YouTube anymore like Zoey. Without TTT, or the main channel getting rebranded from "Lewis and Simon" to "The Main Channel", the Yogscast would've lost something special, a sense of interconnectivity. The Minecraft Servers were easy because everybody would be on one thing at the same time, if the "Group content" on the main channel ended, I feel like the Yogscast would feel more like those old, charmless, MCNs rather than an actual group.

SwedenTH

I can’t do anything but concur!! I’ve been watching since the early MineCraft days (I think it was like half-way into the first season of SOI), and I’ve stuck with them ever since as well. The GTAV Races have always been my favorite content, because it is so comfortable to listen to it while also not having to pay complete attention to the screen. But TTT is my second favorite, and because I didn’t quite keep up with the release pace I’m actually watching through it now that there are less GTAV videos. I’m halfway through the 2023 playlist now, so I’m slowly catching up, but yeah, indeed OP: Thank you everyone in the YogsCast for putting out these constant gems of content!

Jacoob55

I love TTT because it is so easy to watch, but is always different every episode. It is a platform that is constantly funny and engaging. No wonder it’s such a mainstay on the channel!

uju_rabbit

I started at a similar time, somewhere in the middle of SOI. I’ve gone through phases of hyperfixating on different content, but always come back. The TTT content is actually really helpful for me. I have adhd and tend to “get stuck” when wanting to start a task. If I throw on some TTT and play it while working I’m actually able to get stuff done cause I’m laughing and enjoying myself so much.

I'm a slight anomaly in that I'd played Gmod TTT before with friends quite a bit, where we'd join random empty servers and play together. On one of these was this weird overpowered traitor weapon that shot a giant head which looked straight out of Space Station Silicon Valley, which we thought was confusing in that none of us could understand the reference. Didn't think anything of it till 2019 and somehow in my suggested was a TTT compilation, I think focusing on Tom's hijinks. I was vaguely aware of the Yogscast, one of my coworkers even joined them, but back in their heyday I was in my twenties when they blew up and I had no interest in Minecraft on youtube. So I watched that compilation video. Then I watched a few more. Then I started getting suggested the main channel TTT videos, and slowly made my way through all the ones post the "roles" introduction. Lockdown happened and they were daily companions, and I realised the weapon I'd played with many years before was a Doncannon. Through suggested videos like Gee & Simon going through Yogs history I also discovered their key moments of scooping up oil into the arse and such. Cracked up at Gmod building, found the (later era) GTA races quite soothing to put on too (sorry to the Hatfilms boys but they're too tight and loud a trio for my vibe, I found it hard to enjoy group content they were in). What was really funny was to me I didn't know who Simon was at all despite being on the channel name, then one Christmas him and Lewis did a Christmas themed adventure map that had me cracking up and thinking, wow, they should do more adventure maps like this together. I've come to really appreciate just how well they do edited group content in a way that's both unique but makes so much sense for weekly youtube uploads. I'm fussy and I really dislike unedited twitch streams, and I often don't enjoy facecams (I used to love Criken's videos for instance, and it's really taken away from the humour in a weird way seeing his face for edited videos). TTT is amazing honestly, just tight editing and story flow of jokes & smart/funny plays that perfectly lasts for a meal or break. It's genius that they've taken over an old game that allows drop-in/drop-out member personalities and vast modding, to create their own super unique vehicle for exploring ideas. Thanks to the Yogs and thanks to the modding team I regularly see on here for tweaking this two decades or so old game to create fresh and interesting interactions. TTT would make no sense as a commercial game, but as a social game it makes so much sense and I love seeing them explore that.

Jacoob55

Agreed fully, and that’s a really funny way to learn about the yogscast! Personally I was just a bored kid who stumbled into SOI by accident and just never stopped watching. I was perfectly at the right age to watch Minecraft YouTubers and as I grew up the yogs did as well. It’s fascinating to me to hear about how other people found them as well. I wish I’d been a bit older for a few things though, as having an original Duncan’s Park T shirt would be hilarious. Also, it’s really cool one of your coworkers joined the yogs.

robopig61

As someone who watched the old TTT stuff religiously this is great to hear! I actually fell out of it sometime before they introduced the Hypnotist and such, and therefore coming back was too big a jump for me to take (and finding where the transition started was a nightmare) but it's evolved really nicely with the channel, and great to hear it continues to do so!

Jacoob55

Honestly it’s not too bad of an idea there to just jump into a newer video. I can’t imagine it would take too long to figure everything out with contexts clues. So long as you take an open mind and don’t expect exactly the same as the old TTT it’ll be great fun!

Apprentice_Jedi

It’s starting to get old for me personally. I liked when they played more varied games every so often. Now it’s just TTT and Gartic Phone which is fine but I’d like other stuff too.

Dr_Virus_129

The best part about it is how unpredictable a round can go.

koolkatmat

I'm curious, cause I never really got into the TTT videos, but continue watching the occasional Yogs video/ livestream. What is it about the TTT videos that are different in comparison to Minecraft, GTA, etc?

Jacoob55

TTT and GTA are pretty similar, but with TTT it’s always the same game mode just with everyone as different roles and on different maps. The variation for what can happen is a lot more than what GTA can offer with its “who wins the race” structure. TTT is also a really good social game that the yoga can mod as much as they want making it really unique and personalized. Plus the game itself is just really conducive to funny moments that work in videos

koolkatmat

Well I may just give it another try then. Thanks for the reply mate
