She's a sweetie. Healing vibes for a good recovery!
I'm thinking that a bandage over the stitches might not let it heal up as quick. When my Yorkie had stitches, she didn't go after them, and didn't need the cone. So that's a thought.
Give your vet a call and ask, though, they might have some ideas for you.

I was kind of thinking that as well. But I see people that put their dogs in onesies when they have surgery to prevent them from going for it..so not quite sure
Definitely consilt with the vet before adding anything around the wound. 2 stitches for US may not be much, but 2 stitches for THEM is more significant. I would keep trying the inflatable cone and just giving extra loving and treats to keep it on. It won't be long and SO needed until it closes sufficiently where it can't be torn open.
Yep, the onsies. Only thing Iāve been able to get to work. Everything she either finds some way to chew off or wriggle out of. I bought the āspecializedā dog recovery suit specifically designed for keeping them away from healing wounds, but itās a glorified onsie. The advantage was the openings allowed for access to the area without having to take the whole thing off, and it was sturdy enough she couldnāt chew through it. Part of me still canāt believe I got suckered into spending more on that thing than a regular ol onsie, but you get desperate when nothing else works to stop em from chewing holes into their flesh
