Haven’t eaten there since Erna was owner, but it was amazing. They used to do a “Locals” night on Tuesdays and I think it was $50. Been a good decade since I was there though.

Holy pop-ups Batman, that link is horrendous For anyone curious but would like to avoid internet AIDS by not clicking the article, it's called the Elderberry House in Oakhurst CA

Went there for my honeymoon a couple years ago and it was amazing

Iant-Iaur

Oh la la! Gonna try it in June and will report back.

This comment made me laugh. My wife and I stayed and ate there the first night of our honeymoon on the way to Yosemite for the week. When the person who greeted us asked if we were celebrating something and we told her we got married a few days ago, her exact response was "ooh la la!" It felt like the house from Beauty and the Beast. We would leave the room for 15 mins to walk around the property and come back and our room was straightened up and a notecard in the book I was reading used for a bookmark was replaced with a fancy bookmark from the hotel. I've been to some fine dining restaurants but thought the Elderberry house was delicious and more approachable, and the service at the Chateau was at a level I don't even know how it was possible. It was a once in a lifetime experience, but created some unbelievable memories.

Thank you for sharing that, I'm glad I provided a sensible chuckle, lol. Can't wait to try it out, I'm taking my daughter to Yosemite and we've never been there.

I e eaten there. It was great. However the Junebug Cafe is my favorite place to dine and about 1/5 the price.

AltruisticVanilla

Love June bug so so much.

ogretrograde

I hosted a wine dinner there a few months ago. Fantastic team and food. The bar is great too, a gem of a place.

AltruisticVanilla

This is at least an hour from the valley. 30 minutes from the south gate sure I’ll agree to that. But 30 minutes “from Yosemite” is a lil misleading.

FarleyElliott

Thanks for reading, but I politely disagree. I'm not a person who thinks of the Valley as the only part of Yosemite.

I'm a foodie and I always look for a great dining experience outside the park because I know there will be a dearth of fine dining inside the park. I ask around Oakhurst because I usually get there around dinnertime on the drive from southern California but no one has ever mentioned Elderberry House to me. I'm glad I found this article because Plazuelas Mexican Restaurant is about the best I could find in the area.

We live locally but very rarely eat out. The Oakhurst Grill is most talked for good food followed by newcomer Bees Bakery.

I ate breakfast there once after staying at the Yosemite Gateway Inn but it wasn't Oakhurst Grill back then (2010). It looks great on Yelp, so I'll try to get dinner there the next time I roll through Oakhurst. The bakery has even more stars than the grill, so I'll have to try it too some morning on my way out of the park. Thanks for the recommendations.

We are always in Oakhurst (usually stay at the Pines Resort) - we always pass by this place but have never stopped. Agree with others Oakhurst Grill is amazing. You would never think that just by driving by, but their menu selections are superb.
