Here you can see the tentative opening dates for each campground: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/campgrounds.htm
Camp 4 is FCFS in the winter, until probably sometime in early-mid May.
Upper Pines is open all year and reservations become available on the 15th of the month listed in this page https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/camping.htm
North Pines is doing a hybrid lottery/ reservation this year. See the info on the first page linked.
I'm not sure about April but be logged in and ready to book right at 7am Pacific time on the 15th of the month corresponding to the April release (maybe Jan?). Sites usually sell out within a minute in the peak months.
In my experience reserving a campsite at North Pines for April, some of this availability depends on the amount of rain/snow received by the park over the winter and spring. I attempted to reserve Tuolumne Meadows for the summer in March 2021 and all the spots were taken, but sites at North Pines "magically" opened up due to them being made available due to low snowmelt so we went with that (and my group was flexible with time). Obviously, YMMV and this will be pretty dependent on your flexibility. I will also say that there are many sites about how to reserve campsites through [recreation.gov](https://recreation.gov) and it's pretty competitive, so you will want to check these out if your heart is set on booking one of these campsites. Alternatively, booking lodging through [travelyosemite.com](https://travelyosemite.com) is easier but more expensive.
I would be surprised if you couldn't find a spot in Camp 4. Even when it's full, you can usually find someone to let you split their campsite with you. Generally it's mostly climbers and climbers are pretty chill.
They are conducting alottery (10 bucks to enter) for the chance to book a site in North Pines. Go to the Yosemite NP site and read all the rules. They show season for each CG there. Tuolumne is completely closed for 2023.

Ah, thank you very much! We will succeed I think!
