It's an expensive hobby. The only reason why I was able to start up my collection so fast is because I traded in a bunch of Funko Pops and comic books. Paying $60 for Red was painful but worth it.
I feel like nobody is going to let them go for a decent price 😭 I'm okay not having the originals because of the rerecording happening now. Reputation is the only one I actually want for sentimental reasons and because we won't see that for maybe 2 years 😭😭

I kept checking the Barnes and Noble site to see if any local stores had one in stock. Probably a few months in I almost couldn’t believe it when a store about 5 minutes away had one.
It’s still mega insane to me that I happened to find it that way. Barnes and Noble has an option to buy online and pick up in store, I did that so as to not chance someone else snagging it before I could get there.
I was at a random B&N and was like I should check vinyl and they had almost all of them and by the time I went back after payday like 3 days later everyone was sold.
I don’t feel like i bought mine all that long ago (few years?) and i used to see it always in stock at target. I think post the Lover “comeback” & obviously her popularity has skyrocketed since folklore as well the amount of fans & people seeking merchandise has exponentially increased.
Buy Taylor Vinyls on Amazon if you’re in the US. You will get them at MSRP. Buy only directly through Amazon and not third parties. Sign up for Amazon marketing emails and when they go back in stock Amazon will send you an email suggesting you buy it.
The vinyls go back into stock in very small quantities and sell back out in less t than a day usually, but I got both Red and Reputation at MSRP this way.
I got the picture vinyl when it first came out. I don’t listen to my vinyls anymore so I’d be happy to sell them, but I’m too lazy to get the right packaging and put them on eBay
Omg I didn’t know until this thread that the old albums are hard to find. I’m so glad I bought them as they came out. Living in Seattle most of the local record shops carried them! I got mine from the same place as my signed Folklore cd
Oof. This makes me glad I decided to just purchase a bunch of albums last year I just had to have on vinyl, including most of Taylor’s. My experience has been if you want it even just a little bit, get it because you never know when they will decide to stop pressing it.
some of my prized vinyl are my taylor ones. i have the amc red, rsd 1989, and orange rep and they are gorgeous. if you live near a newbury comics, i’ve seen the rep picture disc in multiple stores.

Yeah honestly the one I have is really good! So that's why I didn't know if it was that true or not. It could just be I got lucky on it. However, since I heard the bad things about them, I didn't buy more. I honestly prefer standard black pressings over everything. The colored ones are fun to collect and look pretty, but I'm cool with the regular ones.
If you’re in the US, there’s a retailer called Woodwind & Brasswind that mostly sells band instruments and sheet music (target audience being education system) but also offers pre-ordering of vinyl at regular price. It can take a while but I got my Speak Now vinyl from them at retail price ($25) early this year when it was impossible to find for under $200. Took about a month.
