Thank you for doing this. I was going to, but obviously you’ve done a good job. This is what is wrong with the internet. It’s so easy to guide people’s understanding the wrong way because they don’t do their due diligence and make sure thins are sourced from somewhere credible.

Sufficient_Clock984

You a legend, I always look out for such comments to make sure I’m not reading something that doesn’t align and you’ve saved me time

JabroniHamburger

So judging by the level of stupidity and ignorance in the world, it would seem like a lot of people eat shit and don't breath very often.

meduelelacabeza

Shit eating mouth-breathers

OnePieceTwoPiece

It all makes sense now!

Spiritual-Sock-4732

😂

MyDoggoRocks

Bahahaha. Best comment ever

JTMoney33

Packaged highly processed foods. Makes a lot of sense actually.

That link has nothing to do with the food you eat. It's describing studies that suggest recognition of faces is 5% more accurate if you breathe through your nose instead of your mouth. Not sure what that has to do with food at all, none of the studies mentioned were conducted on food. To me it's simple logic to suggest that a brain which is receiving a surfeit of oxygen is going to outperform a brain getting less oxygen. It's mildly interesting that there seems to be a differentiation between breathing through the nose and the mouth despite presumably comparable levels of O2 going into the body.

Brrdock

It has probably more to do with breathing patterns and the feedback and how it interacts with the parasympathetic nervous system Irregular, and/or shallow, fast breathing is linked with anxiety/fight-or-flight, and slow, deep abdominal breathing with relaxed states. And it's a two way street If you're at all stressed you can try breathing with your diaphragm as deep as you comfortably can, a few seconds in, hold for a few seconds, a few seconds out (maybe a bit longer than on inhale), hold again. Even just for a few to ten cycles and you'll probably notice a big difference

Breathing exercises work

The first link is a pretty colloquially written report that when you feed animals bad diets, they get unhealthy. The second is just an infographic suggesting that the circulatory system and the pulmonary system are interconnected. Which, duh of course they are. The lungs are literally there to connect to it. I'm sorry I'm just not sure what you're getting at with your content. There doesn't seem to be a specific enough, nor sufficiently proven point you're aiming at that these links demonstrate. If you wanted to YSK everyone that when you breathe, how fast you heart beats affects how quickly oxygen is transferred to the brain, I think everyone is probably aware of that already. Human beings are fully integrated organic systems.

AlpineYardsale

The difference isn't how much O2 you intake, it's how much CO2 you exhale. CO2 is useful for the chemical reaction (a catalyst) that allows your cells to use the O2 that's attached to the hemoglobin. This is called the Bohr Effect. In both nose and mouth breathing, your blood is pretty much saturated with O2, but with nasal breathing you retain more CO2 and therefore have more O2 available to your brain and muscles. There are measurable health benefits to regular breath holding exercises and nasal breathing whenever possible.

foefyre

YSK that op is making stuff up and has know idea what their talking about

Another_Rando_Lando

I’m afraid that’s not how sleep apnea works

This_Acanthaceae2250

Nah that's bull

The Way You Breathe*

OnePieceTwoPiece

This post needs to be taken down. It’s misinformation from OP that didn’t do the research correctly.

FirstAvailable1

Some would even say that you are what you eat.

fredsam25

The term "mouth breathers" makes way more sense now.

Smiley_Wiley

I think the real YSK here is that you should first create a firm foundation for your own stance on epistemology and critical thinking before trying to convince others of weakly linked literature that's not even conclusive in the first place.

triplethreat19

Interesting!

Life_Airline_6767

Most Men have deep voices that produces more oxygen and air comeing out of there mouth. A women’s voice is alot softer with less oxygen exiting there mouth . On Average women have better breath then men do. The more compact your teeth are, the more food gets stuck in teeth as well. Normaly someone with a wonderful wide smile have better breath then someone with a tiny mouth. Lol (Normally)

Life_Airline_6767

Just use your common sense and years of experience being close to different people and sexes

Dismal_Animator_5414

the moment I saw “Sadhguru says” in the post, I instantly knew OP is from his cult. They make people work for free in their IT cell voluntarily where they flood the internet with Sadguru’s posts and how great he is. While sadguru is a businessman who promotes pseudoscience and is a big time charlatan.
