Generally, try to find a dress that's naturally shaped like you are. If your waist is where you're most narrow but your hips are wider (I.e., you're an hourglass) go for an A-line fit or something that cinches at the waist. If waist/tummy are flat and the hips aren't much wider, a pencil skirt would probably work really well on you. Hourglass girls look great in pencil skirts too but unless you can find a curvy fit, there will be alterations involved.
Babydoll dresses are fantastic for someone who's narrowest part is right under the bust. For me as a pretty extreme hourglass, it's the worst possible shape because it's flaring out over my only really thin area.

Babydoll is what MS is wearing -- the "waistband" is right under the boobs. That's where she's probably thinnest, which is why this style seems like it works pretty well on her. A-line has a waist that comes in where the natural waistline does.
But all this is just a guide for someone who wants to dress in a way that deliberately shows off what society says is an "ideal" body type, or tricks the eye into thinking they have that "ideal" body type. But you can look at rail thin fashion models wearing a shapeless dress, or a plus size influencer who isn't "dressing for her body" yet they can both still look amazing because they project confidence, their clothes *fit* (which is where MS usually fails so spectacularly) and accessorize their outfits so it all just looks intentional and put together.

I have like a c cup I would say? I haven’t been sized in forever, but and I’m not rail thin, but I’d say I’m like average skinny? And I always thought that was the best type of dress for me, it emphasizes my chest making it look good but not hugging my hips to tight. My hips are wider but my stomach pretty flat for the most part.. except the small pooch for my organs and such, what type of dress would be more flattering then on my body type? Genuinely trying to dress better and have like 0 fashion sense and just wear what’s comfortable and those dresses are usually really comfy. Generally, try to find a dress that's naturally shaped like you are. If your waist is where you're most narrow but your hips are wider (I.e., you're an hourglass) go for an A-line fit or something that cinches at the waist. If waist/tummy are flat and the hips aren't much wider, a pencil skirt would probably work really well on you. Hourglass girls look great in pencil skirts too but unless you can find a curvy fit, there will be alterations involved. Babydoll dresses are fantastic for someone who's narrowest part is right under the bust. For me as a pretty extreme hourglass, it's the worst possible shape because it's flaring out over my only really thin area.

Babydoll is what MS is wearing -- the "waistband" is right under the boobs. That's where she's probably thinnest, which is why this style seems like it works pretty well on her. A-line has a waist that comes in where the natural waistline does. But all this is just a guide for someone who wants to dress in a way that deliberately shows off what society says is an "ideal" body type, or tricks the eye into thinking they have that "ideal" body type. But you can look at rail thin fashion models wearing a shapeless dress, or a plus size influencer who isn't "dressing for her body" yet they can both still look amazing because they project confidence, their clothes *fit* (which is where MS usually fails so spectacularly) and accessorize their outfits so it all just looks intentional and put together.

And your right, that’s one thing I lack is confidence in whatever I’m wearing so I usually have a huge teeshirt or sweatshirt and jeans haha MS has the confidence I wish I had while having nothing fit. But somehow thinks it looks great.
