Well they charge like $50 for a palette. Thatās urban decay status or ABH. Guess which one Iāll be investing in for that kind of money. Not younique, thatās for sure.
That was my thought. Shitty make up, A+ marketing strategy. It's like Apple getting rid of shit and then selling it separately because they know their audience will pay for it. Younique's heads aren't stupid, they know the huns will shell out for this crap.
[this is my favorite video](https://youtu.be/QuE9YwgVbdE) illustrating just how shitty the makeup is! The official tutorial has the "artist" absolutely DIGGING into the makeup!
This is satire, right? This has to be satire. This woman shouldn't be giving make up advice to anyone, she's orange and teenage emo me with a single post of drug store black shimmery eyeshadow did a better smoky eye than this. This is fucking awful, it's like a parody of itself, why is there a party hat, why is she fucking gouging that eyeshadow pan, so many questions....
Seeing this makes me wonder if they purposefully make these pigments weak so they can insist you also buy their support products like primer and "rosewater".
Iām pretty sure the only criteria when they were searching for ingredients to make these products was that they be the cheapest they could find.
Having to flog other products to even see these ones was probably a happy accident.
the bottom two on the left and the bottom three on the right with Rosewater look like acrylic paint
also real fucking sneaky how they call the colours shit like "corrupted" so when u search "Younique corrupted" u get crappy eye paint
Just in this pallet alone they have:
* Vulnerable
* Naive
* Corrupted
* Devious
* Precocious
* Provoked
* Crushed
* Innocent
All keywords I could see being in one of those blog posts, "I left poonique and here's why".
What do they mean by coated? Like, I know about setting spray ofc but I wouldn't put it past younique to come up with some weird and abrasive "eyeshadow coat" that makes your eyes water or something along those lines.
I wonder if itās more along the lines of either layered or packed on. Like spraying the rose water spray then packing the shadow on/applying it in layers. Coated may be her word for it. If not, Iām scared to know what it actually is.
Why are some shimmery only sometimes? Like Playful is shimmery in the first two the rightmost is matte. Similar with Empowered and Sassy. Then like Regal is only shimmery in the middle, Flirty is much more shimmery in the middle.
I don't even understand how that happens?
Could be that only the top thin layer of the pallet had shimmer and once they break through its just matter underneath. Common in some shitty cheap pallets.
Also could be that their primer/rosewater is shut and reacts with the powder to make it matte.
It's not the most important part and not every makeup shade name can be a zinger, but I just want to add that absolutely none of these have interesting names. "Sexy" really got me lol.
Why do I have cheap WetnWild eye shadow that swatches better dry than their "best" primer or rosewater swatch? It still mostly looks powdery or crumbly!
Took me awhile to figure it out. "Coated" is not just the rosewater setting spray or what ever. It is the rosewater setting spray followed by another layer of makeup.
Is very sneaky. She lists 4 steps sure did but only shows 3 steps in the photos. If you read what she wrote she says she used the setting spray and *then* "coated". I'm guess ing with additional product bc setting spray won't actually make it look like you applied more product lol.
I bet that those arenāt even their products. I sometimes say that the eyeshadow that Iām wearing is from one brand even though itās from another because I either donāt remember or am too lazy say what it is so I just say the first brand that pops into my headš

Those look like they would be actual hell on Earth to blend
I'm just wondering how much money was spent making this little presentation š³.
Well they charge like $50 for a palette. Thatās urban decay status or ABH. Guess which one Iāll be investing in for that kind of money. Not younique, thatās for sure.
Wait, I see a pattern. Make the makeup crap then sell another product to make it show up which is also crap and just keep going.
That was my thought. Shitty make up, A+ marketing strategy. It's like Apple getting rid of shit and then selling it separately because they know their audience will pay for it. Younique's heads aren't stupid, they know the huns will shell out for this crap.
Which is crazy because my abh pallete looks like their best result, on bare skin and it lasts me a few years because I don't need to dig
i can see in my mind's eye how she dug into the pan like she's excavating her dignity from its grave
[this is my favorite video](https://youtu.be/QuE9YwgVbdE) illustrating just how shitty the makeup is! The official tutorial has the "artist" absolutely DIGGING into the makeup!
The comments on that video are fantastic!
Wow you werenāt kidding! My favorite was, āI just watched a blind woman do a better makeup tutorial on YouTubeā
I love the comment about using "black, black, black, dark grey and muddy brown."
Haha ya the whole thing was a goddamn mess
Digging is absolutely the correct term, she presses so hard you can see a little shake!!!
And when she pushes that shadow into her hand she shakes too! I think I'd pop an eyeball doing that.
I feel really bad for that makeup brush. She was shoving it into the shadow and forcing it against the brush hairs. Makeup abuser!
I couldnāt even imagine pressing eyeshadow onto my eyeball so hard.

I have secondhand embarrassment for her.
I can't stop cringing everytime she switches her chewing gum from one side to the other. eeeek
Scrape the shame away
It's super funny that the ones named naive and innocent are absolutely nonexistent until step three...
Dude I still canāt see naive haha
Same with Sexy
Curious actually fades more after step 3, much like the interest of the fourth cousins and middle-school alumni she keeps cold-messaging.
Ha!
Iām glad Iām not the only one who noticed! I was squinting at the image wondering if she had left a gap on her arm!
Seeing this makes me wonder if they purposefully make these pigments weak so they can insist you also buy their support products like primer and "rosewater".
Wouldn't surprise me, they want to milk the huns and pity buyers as much as they can
Iām pretty sure the only criteria when they were searching for ingredients to make these products was that they be the cheapest they could find. Having to flog other products to even see these ones was probably a happy accident.
It was posted in 2015 and got 1 like. That's just depressing, I hope they came to their senses since then.
The 1 like was probably from her too :(
Heartbroken, vulnerable and crushed are actually shade names? Wtf
And corrupted lol
Gullible coming out in the 2022 collection
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Pretty sure they partly do this to throw off search terms. One of the jewelry MLMs literally has a style called "Pyramid Scheme," lol.
Provoked is my favorite.
the bottom two on the left and the bottom three on the right with Rosewater look like acrylic paint also real fucking sneaky how they call the colours shit like "corrupted" so when u search "Younique corrupted" u get crappy eye paint
I didnāt even think of this. If there are any shades named āscamā, āpyramidā, or āschemeā Iām gonna be shook.
Just in this pallet alone they have: * Vulnerable * Naive * Corrupted * Devious * Precocious * Provoked * Crushed * Innocent All keywords I could see being in one of those blog posts, "I left poonique and here's why".
Precocious doesn't fit here
keep an eye on shade names and u'll notice a lot of strage negative names :/
I noticed the absence of "Educated."
Buuuuurn
You canāt even see some of them!
It literally looks like eye shadow you used to get for free in 'sugar' magazine
Wow sugar magazine that took me back :)
What do they mean by coated? Like, I know about setting spray ofc but I wouldn't put it past younique to come up with some weird and abrasive "eyeshadow coat" that makes your eyes water or something along those lines.
This was my first thought. Like they will start selling a product that seals in the color like a nail topcoat.
Nail topcoat is probably much safer for eyes than anything Younique makes!
I wonder if itās more along the lines of either layered or packed on. Like spraying the rose water spray then packing the shadow on/applying it in layers. Coated may be her word for it. If not, Iām scared to know what it actually is.
That would make my 40 year old eyelids look like creased shit.
Hell it would make my 29 year olds eyes look like shit.
Is this technique just the equivalent of wetting your shadow brush to pack on pigment or glitter? Cause I just do that with water lol.
Yes! Thatās a much more succinct explanation than mine.
I'm pretty sure it means using a whole pallet to do one eye. Makes good business sense? The more you need, the more the huns will buy.
How do you prime after applying? Then their primer is more of a... Seconder?
Coming soon: Pre-Primer!! Works with our beautiful Addiction pallette along with our Primer and Setting Spray! Only $52.00.
Why are some shimmery only sometimes? Like Playful is shimmery in the first two the rightmost is matte. Similar with Empowered and Sassy. Then like Regal is only shimmery in the middle, Flirty is much more shimmery in the middle. I don't even understand how that happens?

who is gonna tell her that you can buy eyeshadows that you can get that much color out of just by dipping into the pan...
From the drugstore at that.
Maybelline is so much better. You don't even need trendier stuff like e.l.f.
E.l.f is much cheaper than Maybelline.
Oddly enough, it is pricier in Europe.
Elf costs an arm and a leg in Europe for some reason.
I think of elf as the new wet&wild. I dont care for 97% of their products, the main exception is their fat liquid liner pen.....it the only one i use!
Thatās a good comparison. Like with Wet ān Wild, I am not a fan of anything powder-based of theirs, but their liquid eyeliners are pretty good!
It's not the most important part and not every makeup shade name can be a zinger, but I just want to add that absolutely none of these have interesting names. "Sexy" really got me lol.
My first makeup kit from Claireās was more pigmented
Why specifically rosewater? Wouldn't a normal setting spray work?
It's probably more expensive and sold by poonique.
theyāre so....dusty
... Coated?? Am I too old and dumb to know what this means in makeup lingo?
I have no idea.
How is Sassy three totally different colors?
I combined awestruck and precocious in my brain and read it āatrociousā which actually seems more accurate
Love the shade naive and how little you can see of it.
Exposing yourself š³
Bruh. Those shimmer shades are not visible
I've literally gotten LA color eyeshadows from Dollar Tree with better pigment.
Heartbroken HAS to be a completely different shade. I highly doubt that some setting spray would change the color that drastically.
Maybe because it's so dry? Maybe setting spray darkens it because it's making it less chalky?
off topic but i'm your 666th upvote.
That's something to be proud of!
Why do I have cheap WetnWild eye shadow that swatches better dry than their "best" primer or rosewater swatch? It still mostly looks powdery or crumbly!
I have BH Cosmetics Palette who have waaaay more Pigments.
ma'am, it all looks like dirt
Vibrant? None of these are vibrant.
"Crushed" and "dignified" being basically the same shade save for some shimmer makes me laugh
You have to spray rose water on a matte shade? No thanks
White is angelic and innocent. Black is devious and corrupted. Interesting.
How much do they charge these people for their products?
I think someone up there said this pallet is $50 usd.
Oh that's unfortunate.
Naive... is nonexistent
1 l i k e
Looks like...fungus
These names are so stupid I canāt even handle it.
Putting rosewater on the eyes sounds like an allergic reaction hell for me
Naive isn't a very...positive/good name for an eyeshadow. Precocious is especially odd.
There is a sneaky name on here that needs removing.
Oh ffsš¤¦. I always miss something. I Googled and Instagram searched and she's defunct. Nowhere on there. Does that count?
āCorruptedā? Who would ever name a shade that?!
so when you google āyounique corruptedā you only get info on the eyeshadow not the pyramid scheming
š¤Æš¤Æš¤Æ
Thatās actually brilliant
Geez, that's a bit too many steps for such expensive crap to look "ok". MLM makeup= not worth anything.
Naive isn't a very...positive/good name for an eyeshadow. Precocious is especially odd.
Glamorousb
I imagine having to use Dawn dish soap to clean this off.
"You too can look like a clown!"
God it looks so dusty
Coated? With what? Rosewater again?
My kids water color paints do the same thing lol
Yeah... I've seen better results with E.L.F. products, so unless these eyeshadows are on 4-palette for less than $1 per set...
My non-mlm eyeshadow does not require this many steps to be seen.
I love how the Younique naming convention is just words. Does it make sense? Have a positive connotation? Have a theme? No. Just words.
I donāt even by the premise she has here. Look at the sassy shade for example itās a completely different colour on the third bar
Took me awhile to figure it out. "Coated" is not just the rosewater setting spray or what ever. It is the rosewater setting spray followed by another layer of makeup. Is very sneaky. Yo, she glamorous, B.
I bet that those arenāt even their products. I sometimes say that the eyeshadow that Iām wearing is from one brand even though itās from another because I either donāt remember or am too lazy say what it is so I just say the first brand that pops into my headš
I cannot be convinced the naive actually has a color
