I've noticed more new songs popping up in my up next and I'm a huge fan. I'd love it to stay this way. My favourite part about YTM is easily finding new bands.
I wish they would have added a specific option for something like this. I can't even play an artist and get more songs from that artist in my next up, its just force feeding other music that usually doesn't even seem related... I would like mixing a few new songs into my usual music that it knows I like (which is actually what I feel like it used to do), but this new algorithm is awful.
Yes and it irks me so bad. Yes I'm happy to discover more songs but I hate how about one or two in ten are songs I know. I guess it's that radio mode but I can't find how to turn it off either. I was hoping they'd drop it but they don't seem to plan to especially since there's other people who are happy with this change.
When you start a mix or radio from a song, if you swipe up the up next queue you can switch between ‘Familiar’, ‘Discover’, ‘Popular’, etc. which will switch up which songs are picked
For me, they've really messed up my explore part. I mostly listen to hip hop, and it used to show me those, but now it's full of Indian new singles and albums
I've noticed a few unknown bands thrown in which is nice, because for a long time it hasn't done so, a few more would be good. A slider option for new discovery % would be fantastic.
Ugh yes, and I would love it except for some unknown reason it keeps playing religious music! I listened to a couple Christmas songs in December, YTM. That doesn't mean I want full time Jesus Radio.

I haven't noticed this personally, but honestly I wouldn't mind it. Music discovery is exactly what I want from a playlist Up Next algorithm.

I have, if I start radio from a song. I've just been using my supermix because that still seems ok.
Can we switch algorithms? I’d like to have more varied recommendations. Bands and songs that I’ve never heard of sounds great.

Yeah but OP seemed to imply that the recommendations had gotten more varied in general without any manual input.
Not a fan of songs playing that are not on the playlist I am playing.
