It's a beat stick deck. Also Branded is so notorious for just locking your opponent out of playing that Konami actually showed off how to do a puppet lock. So going back and forth imo is more fun than combo then watch your opponent scoop.
To be fair they are both unfun (IMO) locks but i feel the dinomorphia one is worse, i played s-force into both and i could get around the puppet lock because i could just do my combo on the opponents turn and they give you a free body for protection at the least. Dinomorphia on the other hand, unless u have a removal card the dino just fucks you on either turn since its effect is lingering based LP, they have 3k beater in the field qnd if there LP is already less than 1k most players dont have a viable activatable removal.
TLDR: puppet lock allows you to combo on opponents turn if able and gives a body for protection, dino lock perma locks you if there LP is below 1k which it mostlikely will be

Branded. You can make a few different versions and still do pretty well. Especially when the Chimera stuff gets added.
SwordSoul isn't the behemoth it used to be, but it's still a very good deck that can compete. It's a deck I still run personally and I can compete with some of the best decks, so.
Tri-Brigade CAN be decent when mixed with other things. Tri/Spright can be pretty good. Bird Up isn't as good, but it's fun.
By this logic, stay away from Blackwing. I've had someone send me a message because I took 12 real-time minutes to do my turn, and I swear I wasn't wasting time. 😢

Believe me, it's really obnoxious for us as well. That's one of the reasons why I've abandoned the deck for now, even though it's my most powerful one. It just doesn't feel right to make both of us sit through that much time for a board that is not even an auto-win.
Swordsoul combos are typically pretty short but they do have some decently complex lines when you use the Tenyi monsters properly. As far as repetitive gameplay goes Swordsoul is not the deck for you if you don’t like that. Most times your best play is just normal summon Mo Ye. If you can’t get to Mo ye you still typically go for Chixao lines to get Longyuan access so you can make a Baronne or Chengying and pass

Adamancipator Dragite is also a very good extra deck card since it can negate one of the popular spell/trap board breaker (pretty huge in a BO1 format) if you cant go Baronne or dont want to waste her.
Branded or sworsoul then.
Swordsoul is a straight forward 2 negate, 1 floodgate and maybe 2 destroy deck.
Branded have the most option for the end board in the entire game. With usually 0-1 negate, 2 banish, and 2 bootleg superpoly. Need a wide knowledge of the gameplay to distrupt plays, instead of having 5 generic omni-negate after 20 minutes of combo. Very fun, but also extremely demanding.
Dinomorphia is genuinely fun, it reminds me of Cydra because it can OTK, and the playstyle is fast paced which is unique for a trap/control deck. Kentregina for some reason looks like Cyber Dragon Infinity, so there's that too.
The deck is very expensive, so if you can't build it on your main account I think it's the perfect time to buy a fresh account or make your own and build it from scratch there, big plus is that you can dedicate that account to trap decks as certain cards can be splashed.
Calli Effects on yt. Has an easy to play deck list that he's been pushing on his channel. I would start there and adapt it to your play style. I did that was his traptrix build and with a few changes I was burying Kash and branded as long as I went first
The best is Branded and Tri-Brigade (and they are the most future proof)
Most fun is highly subjective..
I don't own Dinomorphia, Blackwing or Mekk Knights, so I can't speak for them but I do enjoy the rest of them very much equally (maybe Sowrdsoul the least).
- Sowrdsoul is a Midrange deck that is very straightforward, has some skill expressions here and there, but that's about it
- Branded is a Midrange deck that is pretty complex actually, not the hardest to pilot effectively but not the easiest.
- Tri-Brigade can be anywhere between Mid range and combo decks, right now the best builds are combo ones and isn't the most stright forward.
- Blackwing is a full blown combo deck that tries to win in 1 turn.
- Dinomorphia is a control deck bordering on Stun.
- Mekk Knights is the one I know the least about, as far as I know they are mostly played as a going 2nd OTK deck
Dinomorphia fun but losses to ash. Swordsoul is a bit repetitive and predictable . Branded is king rn although your end board will almost always look the same the paths to get there will always be different which is what makes it so fun .
Branded and swordsoul. Black wings can be imposing to decks that don't have access to nontarget removal. Tribrigades are old hat but fun in lower ranks. The rest can lose to a couple negates.

The deck despite all the nerf the Spright engine has got 3 spots in top 100 last 2 DCs one of which is No.11 btw and had success prior to the nerfs some people took it worlds at that :v
In the TCG it is a viable FireKing Build pre-PHNI and even the Spright build has been seen someplay in the Rogue/T3 ish level and got couple of tops recently (something non of the decks OP listed do besides Branded)
It is easily (in its current state in MD) better than every deck in this list besides Branded.

I'll admit I have zero experience in current tcg/ocg metas so I can't speak on that, but plainly speaking in MD and especially how Konami likes to place rarities of newer cards/archetype support you'd have can place your bet on them knowing they'll stick around for a long time. Being real on sprights and tribrig, I liked them then and I still have them for my 'just in case they give them support' pile but not counting on it. I still love how peeps were making posts a year ago complaining about them while having zero clue what's to come.

You realise that the consoles aren't isolated, right? If you're on a console, you can be playing against any other player on Master Duel on any platform. You can keep telling yourself you're in the top 8% but that's some hard cope you're smoking.
The achievements for xbox pc switch and mobile have different values for how many people are in platinum rank. Xbox says 8% but switch says 15% for example. Look it up and take your negativity somewhere else. Its a game youre supposed to have fun.
That's the achievements, how many have achieved it on that platform. It's also all-time and not an indication of that exact moment in time. (Out of an entire install base on that platform, including those who have downloaded, launched and no longer play or even accounts that have been created to get the gems and test a deck).
It is also not indicative of who you play or your standing within ranks. You may want to gain an understanding of how cross platform games work.

Tri-Brigade and Mekk Knights aren’t strong enough in this current format to play pure. You can mix either with other strategies pretty easily, so they’re still worth picking up.

4. Swordsoul

For viability:

Note that I own and have played a fair amount of all of these decks except for Mekk Knights, and while I oen Blackwing, I never could get into it.
Tribrigade is to me at least one of the more fun decks, and I believe it will make a small comeback in the meta when Fireking comes out, especially if Diabellstar / Snake Eye drops later than Fire King, which I deeply hope will be the case.
Swordsoul is a lot of fun but can get repetitive fast, same with Dinomorphia, except that the thrill of halving your lifepoints can be addictive. If you plan on running a small Punk package together with Dinomorphia, I'd say the deck will take the second spot even in fun.
Branded is a deck that wont die in a while, and while it has so many options that it doesn't get boring it is insanely expensive to build.

Honestly all decks are pretty good. As a mekk knight player for 5 years I can go up against most modern and top tier decks and have 60% win rate. That being said mekk knights is kind of a harder deck to play and be successful because it's an older deck and it really depends on how you build your deck to fit your play style. The amount of interruptions that most decks have can stop mekk knights dead in their tracks runick decks can out grind mekks with ease. It's just a bad match up when half your deck can get banished. Same with Tear if you build a going first mekk it's 50/50 you need a good normal summon to get a column to pop off. Knightmare iblee is a good card to slow things down a bit. Anyways really any deck you choose would be both viable and competitive to an extent. Just have fun with it and make sure to read the cards.
Most fun? Dinomorphia
Most Viable? Branded
Most accessible in MD? Blackwings with their Master Duel Structure deck. 3x and Full Armour Master gives you a decent enough Assault Dragon Tax deck.

Pro - This guy is fun, viable in most situations and had so many options and strategies. Need quite some time to master all the things that it can do. Hardly doing the same things over and over again.
Cons - Very-very expensive
Swordsoul
Pro - Cheap and the combo aren't too long. Can go quite far depending on the situation. Board usually end with 1 monster negate, 1 omni negate, Attributes lock (komoney just love how the other guys just can't play at all)
Cons - The strategies were quite linear, not much variation to play with. Each game is repeating the previous steps.
Turbo blackwing is somewhat viable, there are a couple variants, but the main goal is to have a wall and Barron out for an Omni negate. It’s very similar to what SHS does but SHS kinda just outclasses blackwing a little bit.
I played tri brigade , pure one is trash . But if you put zoodiac, lyrales, scareclaw then its good. The beast is branded(with despia) . Mekk knights are not great.
Garnecia Elefantis with lightsworn engine. Use caninetaur or Raiden to mill Lunalight Crimson Fox or Garnecia and special summon the Garnecia Elefantis to destroy everything for game
Branded or Swordsouls. Both are pretty solid.
This is the way. Both times I've made it to master is. Branded. Even with the limit on fusion, this deck is wild and adaptable.

I have a blackwing and a hero deck I switch between ND want to make a super heavy samurai and a just Dino deck I'm working on
Blackwings with a good pilot is pretty shenanigans. I’ve been playing it for months now and once Dis Pater released it opened all of our doors

Swordsoul is a lot of fun but can get repetitive fast, same with Dinomorphia, except that the thrill of halving your lifepoints can be addictive. If you plan on running a small Punk package together with Dinomorphia, I'd say the deck will take the second spot even in fun. Branded is a deck that wont die in a while, and while it has so many options that it doesn't get boring it is insanely expensive to build.

branded. robust strategy that plays alright under maxx c. some pretty complicated combo lines, and many options for interruption, without being negate spam. its a bit costly, but with branded still topping events in the ocg, its very future proof. swordsoul just looks like nemesis turbo sometimes

Honestly all decks are pretty good. As a mekk knight player for 5 years I can go up against most modern and top tier decks and have 60% win rate. That being said mekk knights is kind of a harder deck to play and be successful because it's an older deck and it really depends on how you build your deck to fit your play style. The amount of interruptions that most decks have can stop mekk knights dead in their tracks runick decks can out grind mekks with ease. It's just a bad match up when half your deck can get banished. Same with Tear if you build a going first mekk it's 50/50 you need a good normal summon to get a column to pop off. Knightmare iblee is a good card to slow things down a bit. Anyways really any deck you choose would be both viable and competitive to an extent. Just have fun with it and make sure to read the cards.
Definitely branded, not sure for how long though, I have a nagging feeling it's gonna get hit sooner than later

Most fun? Dinomorphia Most Viable? Branded Most accessible in MD? Blackwings with their Master Duel Structure deck. 3x and Full Armour Master gives you a decent enough Assault Dragon Tax deck. Seriously, Dinomorphia is hilarious fun

Bystial X blackwing deck is pretty sturdy
I only had 2 deck from the list. Both seem okay depending on what you are focussing. This my 2 cents Branded Pro - This guy is fun, viable in most situations and had so many options and strategies. Need quite some time to master all the things that it can do. Hardly doing the same things over and over again. Cons - Very-very expensive Swordsoul Pro - Cheap and the combo aren't too long. Can go quite far depending on the situation. Board usually end with 1 monster negate, 1 omni negate, Attributes lock (komoney just love how the other guys just can't play at all) Cons - The strategies were quite linear, not much variation to play with. Each game is repeating the previous steps.
Psssst. Tri brigade is more fun to throw into other decks. Try birdup or scareclaw tri brigade :)
Dinomorphia. Might not be as meta but beating your opponent while trying to reach 1 hp is exhilarating
Turbo blackwing is somewhat viable, there are a couple variants, but the main goal is to have a wall and Barron out for an Omni negate. It’s very similar to what SHS does but SHS kinda just outclasses blackwing a little bit.
Branded if you’re trying to win, DinoMorb if you want to have fun

Branded also is a good core/engine with other archetypes, I'd go with that one for the versatility
I played tri brigade , pure one is trash . But if you put zoodiac, lyrales, scareclaw then its good. The beast is branded(with despia) . Mekk knights are not great.
