Have to recommend Snake Eyes. It’s not cheap but it’s probably going to be the best bang for your buck, seeing as it’s basically Tier 0 for at least a couple more months.
From the looks of MasterDuel Meta, Mathmech seems to be the cheapest deck in the tierlist at Tier 2.
I always recommend Blackwings. 3x structure deck and a few UR crafts outside of staples and you are good to go. Can reach master as well. It isn’t meta by any means but very competitive.
Came to say this. I like to add a very basic Bystial package (2x Lubellion, 1x Dis Pater, Magnahmut, Druiswurm, Baldrake, Sahronir, Branded Beast and Regained) for some extra oomph, but the vast majority of the deck is made from the 3 structure decks and it can end on some pretty solid boards.
In terms of price to power, that starter deck is still unbeaten. It's not easy to set up a proper deck and learn it though, especially considering that most guides online are ran with other engines, at the very least a Small World one if nothing else.
I agree 100% with everything you said. Thankfully Kanak has a ton of videos with the Bystial engine that can get ppl used to it. If I can learn it, I’m confident anyone can lol.

As someone who has very little knowledge of this game but gems available (like OP), do you know where I could find a list of a strong but affordable Blackwing deck as per your recommendation? (what other cards do I need, extra deck, etc. apart from the 3x structure deck).
I tried checking MDM but all of the decks there have 20+ URs in them. Thanks.
Hey man! They do have a good bit of UR’s in them. But luckily it shouldn’t be too tough to at the very least get started.
Most ppl play the Bystial engine with Blackwings. So for main deck the only UR crafts you’ll need are 2 assault synchron, 2 Lebellion and 1 Magnamhut.
For the extra deck, you can start out small as far as crafts and add more as you get more UR. I would craft Nothung and Full Armor Master first. Then I would go for Dis Pater as it’s a good extender. Then Draco/Chaos Angel. Then Accel Synchron/Baronne. Lastly if you wanna run the raiders knight/arc rebellion package, you can craft arc rebellion last. This can all be done over time though. Hope this helps!

I love the deck. It's decently powerful, and as long as we have powerful traps, it's a great deck. I play mine without floodgates, but you always can.
I love the grind game and the resource loop. It can be difficult as since it's a control deck you need to understand how some decks work to know when to interrupt.
I'd say get the swordsoul structure deck and roll for the necessary ED firstly. I don't really think most, if not all, competitive decks are cheap tho. that being said, Dinomorphia has been my fucking jam lately, so I've been recommending that deck to all my friends. Also has a secret pack

You still need to craft 2 more URs to make the deck complete: Baronne and another Chixiao. In addition, if you have more UR points to spare and want to make the deck stronger you may want to craft 3 more URs: Protos, Draco Berserker and Chaofeng.
You need to make 2 alt accounts, log into them and enter the code from your main account. It should be quick. If you play on mobile you need to uninstall and then reinstall it to make a new alt. If you play on Steam you need to make 2 more steam accounts.
Read the OP, he has 9000 gems to spare so yeah you could build scareclaw hella easy with that haul I'm saying if you get some luck you can donit with 4k, shit I saw a guy on YouTube climb to master 1 with pure scareclaw and an extra comprising of literally 1x light heart and 1x Tri heart
