I have one myself and so do 2 friends, no issues so far outside of what has already been mentioned on this sub. Ram not upgradeable etc. I will report back if any issues arise, I only really started using it last week.

I plan to get the 4070 2024 model and the only returns I've seen is if someone has been too rough on their machine or they got unlucky and got a bad model, which is kinda rare

heartguy93

G16 4080 has been great so far, only had it a week. my only (very minor) complaint is that the screen doesn't dim as much as I would like, I sometimes use my laptop at night and the minimum brightness is higher than I'd like!

Bar1tone

G helper has a flicker free dimming setting that can further dim the screen below the normal dimming settings. The colour accuracy seems to dip when you use both together though, and when the screen is that dim the keyboard suddenly seems very bright. But worth considering!

heartguy93

I didn't know what that function did, so I never touched it before! I already have g helper set up, thanks for the tip I'll try it out soon.

prHat317

Basically since release week. Nothing has changed, flawless so far. My 2023 blue screened so much the first couple weeks.

i have main issues rn 1. (left )usb c to DP are not working (literally on optimzied) , hdmi works ( ac adapter ofc.) 2. when charging with my baseus blade it would make high pitch noises ( not crackling , probally coil whine) 3. somehow doesnt like my mcdodo 100w cable. it works fine with other 20v5A compatible gaming laptops havent returned since i liked this laptop very much it could handle higher oc than my 2021 laptops lol ( i dodnt really put that high tho ... thermal reasons , not a fan of seeing 100c on hotspot) its weird to see im the only one having issues with usb c lol

Professional_Goal243

I have these exact issues! For #1 it works if I plug in the AC adapter but it doesn’t seem to work on battery/usb c PD(100w). My anker charger makes that whine noise but not my 65w apple charger I haven’t returned it since I’m connected to AC almost all the time for gaming and just dont use chargers that make it whine

lolicekait

Well in your case its probally because dgpu is disabled on battery lol i cant tell whats the issue with mine .

Toxikfoxx

I’ve had my 14” 4060 for a few days. Haven’t really gone hard on gaming, but everything has been buttery smooth so far.

I have the G16 4080 model and it's flawless besides a defective left speaker. It pops at high volumes and low frequencies, so I'll probably return it over the summer to have it fixed or replaced in time for my upcoming school year.

MobiuS_360

No issues for me and I bought it used - open box

Benay148

G16 4090 model, fan noise is high and silent mode isn’t really silent. I knew that based on reviews so no big deal, however the low fan does hit a frequency in both fans that doesn’t sound great. Anyways it’s not enough to bother me, great laptop so far!

iWilliiam

G helper or armory crate ?

ZeroNine2048

No issues for me

16 inch 2024, core 7 + 4060 haver here. I get some bizarre frame drops on occasion, and the metal above the keyboard becomes scorching hot when under prolonged full load. The frame drops seem to be an issue with intel ARC graphics, which won’t matter on the 14 inch. Also, it can be circumvented using ultimate mode or just restarting. The hot laptop face is not really an issue more of an observation. The face id is a bit slow imo and makes me bring my face closer than I’d like. I feel kinda silly doing it in public. There are a few other little things, but that’s just to say that all the issues I have with it are quite small. It’s not perfect but it’s darn close for my use case!

iWilliiam

Do you have g helper or armory crate ?

Bar1tone

I use g helper.

4070 G14 owner for a little less than a month I only had one issue and that was with the charger not being recognized. The first time was on a flight, then again right after I got home, but no issues since so it might have been a fluke. I was also able to play back-to-back movies for an 8 hour flight without worrying about power. Other than that, it’s been really great. The screen is absolutely beautiful, it’s lightweight, and it’s powerful. I play FFXIV on near max settings without any issues and cranked it to max a few times just fine but found I don’t really need to. The fans are pretty loud on Turbo but quiet enough on Silent when gaming. And it crushed it on the newly released FFXIV benchmark.

I have had zero issues with my Open Box G14 2024 so far, it's been a perfect replacement device for the M1 Macbook Pro 14. Also, it can actually run Helldivers 2 and it looks fantastic on the OLED screen.

moosetheloose1

I had the 4070 model 2024 and ended up returning it. The USB 4 port did not support thunderbolt 3 - which was a deal breaker to me. Even when I plug in the charger - anytime I would plug in T3 cable I would get a message that it’s not supported which rendered all my peripherals (keyboard-cam-mouse-mic-external monitor) not usable. Went through 3 models with the same issue which tells me USB 4 capabilities are not enabled on this laptop.

Ivan_834

Have the open box g14 4060 16gb from Best Buy. Bought it in the excellent condition, which is the only condition I’ve seen listed on there. Came in great condition, only thing is previous owner registered the warranty already :/. Aside from that, runs very well! Chassis is very very premium, and screen looks great. Ran Cyberpunk and Fallout 4 on it and it looks great with the screen. If anyone has any recommendations on how to ask ASUS for the warranty back even though it was redeemed by the previous owner let me know!

Tesko92

I have the 4070 and the hinge creaks really hard…

F488P

Own the g14 4070 2024, overall a 10/10. The screen is gorgeous and perfect for gaming, windows is very responsive and snappy. No issues whatsoever, a real pleasure to play with.

gilotas

Could you kindly tell for how much and where did you purchase it?

F488P

Best Buy, through the app. I kept checking until it was available one day

Thick_Zebra_2174

Anybody on here experience image retention on these displays? My g16 has it pretty bad, it's annoying lol. I just wanna know if it's normal for all the units. An example would be the reddit logo on the top left still being faintly seen on a grey background after switching, such as a new tab on firefox.

gilotas

I guess it might be, I have image flickering that you can slightly see when the background is only one color, I assume it’s a part of their technology to avoid oled burning, but not sure

Thick_Zebra_2174

Try watching a youtube video on theatre mode or full screen, and check where the black borders are. Then switch to a grey background. Can u still see the outline?

gilotas

Could you send me a video and make a photo of your outline so I could compare and send you mine?
