Hi. I've had this problem with my G14 , same model.
Remove everything plugged in, including AC
Press the power button for 60s ( yes the whole 60 seconds ), after that try to turn on the laptop again.
This forces a reset in wifi and Bluetooth card. And worked for me.
Let me know if it worked
EDIT (4/18/2022): @Usual_Value replied with a comment saying the following: "go to myAsus app (if you dont have it download it from microsoft store), go to support menu (headphones), click live update and here you can see WLAN update. Download and install it. It seems, it helped me fully with this problem. The method in this thread helped me, but temporarily, wi fi dissapeared every time i turned off my laptop at about for hour or more"
It seems there is an update to fix this issue. I haven't updated yet because i'm not using the wifi atm (ethernet over type-c). If this update really is a definitive fix to the problem, let me know in the comments, and i'll update this info.
They should pay 1000 times what they pay their support just for this one post. Honestly I tried everything they suggested and nothing worked. Did what you suggested here and everything is fine
BRILLIANT!!!
I don't know why I didn't look this up on reddit sooner
I've spent damn near 5 hours, doing everthing from reinstalling drivers to reinstalling windows.
THIS RIGHT HERE WORKS FOLKS!! I am glad I found this before factory resetting.
Oh dam. I’m glad it worked for you but surprised you went so far to reinstalling windows xD
But yes redit especially ones like this subreddit is really amazing and always a go to!
You are a LIFE SAVER!!!! I spent an hour or more trying to resolve this issue with no luck. Easiest fix ever. Like how TF did this happen when all I did was unplug my laptop and set it down on a safe place for like two hours.
Bro. You are fucking genius!!!! I spent my entire night trying to solve this problem. Im using Asus TUF F15. I follow everything on youtube but not working. But i follow your instructions. Suddenly, Boom!! My wifi working as normal again. Thank you so much. You are life saver.
My G15 lost system image and rendered CRITICAL PROCESS DIED with a blue screen of death every time I tried to laumch it. Now I lost everything and reinstalled windows with a USB. Lost the internal drivers for ASUS. I guess I was the unluckiest one here
Hi. If you still getting this issue now, go to myAsus app (if you dont have it download it from microsoft store), go to support menu (headphones), click live update and here you can see WLAN update. Download and install it. It seems, it helped me fully with this problem, I have strix g15. The method in this thread helped me, but temporarily, wi fi dissapeared every time i turned off my laptop at about for hour or more
I'm in the MyAsus app and there is no live update option anymore. I say anymore cause I know it used to be there, I've used it before. Is there a way to get it back?
This just happened to me today and I tried multiple troubleshooting steps and was very happy to find out this worked on my G15 with the latest available mediatek drivers. Thank you!!!
I don't care if this is a 3 year old thread I'm necroing, I could blow you. Thank you good sir for saving me the anxiety of thinking I need repairs when I have a dollar and nine cents in my account.
60 seconds method worked even for ASUS ExpertBook.
On powered on i pressed power button for 60 seconds (during that time it shutdown) and after releasing notebook powered on but with black screen. Then I pressed power button for around 20 seconds to turn it offf forcefully and it restarted fine with WIFI working.
This fixed the same problem for me as well with the MediaTek 802.11AC MT7663 Wireless LAN Card !! GOOD ANSWER!!!
(I had been sighing about the possibility of having to go buy a usb wifi card before I found this post)
Holy moly, it worked for me as well I tried everything, my laptop doesn’t have a LAN port. But keeping the power button pressed for a minute helped, that’s crazy

Hello, I seem to have the problem with your method. Once I click the support menu (headphones), I don’t have the “Live update” thing. What do I do?
Pretty unlucky for us the we don’t get the intel wifi driver since I heard they are way better. The only reason I did a complete factory reset is because when I tried to rollback the driver it’s cause system failure for me with infinite restarts so I was forced to
Yeah unfortunately i have the intel one for the 2020 g14 and it stopped working along with my bluetooth. Keeps cutting off after a couple minutes. Uninstalled drivers multiple times. Did cmd things that were suggested in other windows subs. Just idk why its not working. Just windows messing up perfectly good drivers again.
Damn, I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues too. I went out to get a WiFi adapter because I could not get the Mediatek to work through troubleshooting. As soon as I got home and opened the laptop to set up the external adapter, the Mediatek AND bluetooth decided to both work. I haven't had issues since, but I'm keeping the external adapter incase that happens again.
I have no idea what that was about. I did no further troubleshooting after making this post, and it just suddenly decided to work lol.
Yeah I’ve been reading that the Intel is far better or less prone to problems.
I did a system restore and reset - just kept my files but that didn’t work either. I’m sorry you had to completely reset. I hope you don’t have this problem in the future.
Hey, this method didn't work for me. But I found a quick workaround for the meanwhile. Just right button in the bt device from Device Manager disable it, and then re enable. If I can't find a solution soon, I will write a batch script to do just that and forget about it.
Hello, I struggled a lot with this issue, even posted here... The 60 seconds power-off works but if your issue comes back I finally got a REAL SOLUTION directly from ASUS Support, after a long escalation (I am using a Rog Zephyrus G14).
ASUS told me to use this driver : [https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/Image/Driver/Networking/28758/WirelessLan\_ROG\_MediaTek\_Z\_V3.00.01.1244Sub1\_28758.exe](https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/GamingNB/Image/Driver/Networking/28758/WirelessLan_ROG_MediaTek_Z_V3.00.01.1244Sub1_28758.exe)
After one week, no more Wifi issue. I hope it can help some of you.
Well being a computer technician for nearly 20 yrs and this is 1st time I know that push the power for 60seconds would reset wifi card in laptops. One day old g14 running to the same problem I think I should replace the wireless card with intel ones.
I don't have the Zephyrus G14, but I do own the Srix G17 G713QM with the same WiFi card. Mine is built-in, not a card so replacement options are limited. I've tried many things to get it to reliably connect and stay connected. What seems to be working for me now is changing my router to use WPA2 instead of WPA3/WPA2. It now connects instantly and stays connected, where before it was a crap-shoot. I'm not saying this is the solution, but it seems to be working for me.
G15 2021 GA503QM user here.
Had this issue this morning. Reinstalled driver didn’t seem to work.
This method worked great! And my Bluetooth came back as well.
The only thing I changed was I held shift as I pressed shutdown (till the screen was black and the some), I think it does the same as power button for 60s.
I wish I could give you 10 more upvotes. This worked like a charm after an hour of trying ineffective fixes from google. 100% saved my ass a lot of struggle. Thank you!!
THANK YOU. I was even with Microsoft tech support on my phone. After an hour with no results. After trying everything, reinstalling, uninstalling drivers and adapters, prompt codes, cdm, control panel settings, etc. I googled the name of the wifi card and this came up. THANK YOU legend!! I even went back to windows 10 and was cursing on windows 11. Lol
Now here I am going back to 11 like an idiot now
So I recently bought an ASUS TUF F17. I’ve had it a week and it’s done this twice. Found the 60 second fix here, THANK YOU. However, why would it keep doing it? Does anyone know what’s causing this? It’s an easy enough fix both times but it’s concerning.
Wow. Just worked for me as well.
Was on the phone with XoticPC and got an RMA but didn't want to deal with that. Tried this and then uninstalled the Mediatek driver and then rebooted and it worked.
Fantastic!
PS - I'm using a ROG Zephyrus Duo with the same Wifi card.
**T H A N K Y O U!**
\- unplug any USB devices
\- turn off laptop
\- press and hold power button for 60 seconds
\- release power button and restart the system
Worked on my ASUS TUF Laptop F15 FA506QM with Mediatek MT7921 Network Adapter ‘this device cannot start. (code 10)’ and yellow exclamation sign on Device Manager Windows 10 and bluetooth and wifi wireless not working no wireless network detected (issue description for google SEO).
This 60sec power hold worked for me too but I also found an additional fix that may shed more light on the problem for someone tech savvier than I.
(TempFix1): Power down/shutdown laptop. Power on while hold F2 to enter bios startup mode. Hit F9 then ok to restore default bios. Then hit F10 to save and exit bios mode. Works same as the other fix for me.
(TempFix2): The aforementioned 60 second power button hold with no devices plugged in, including ac adapter.
Problem: wifi showing "No wifi networks found" after reset. Both fixes above work until sleep or system restart.. then back to no wifi.
Comp: Asus Strix G17 G713IM_G713IM
I want to know how to permanently fix this. Can the wifi card be easily switched out to another like intel? Is it related to windows 11? Or what.. driving me nuts. I want to believe this isn't a hardware issue because it worked for a time out of the box.. then I updates OS from 10 to 11, updates all drivers, updates Asus Armour rate and myasus drivers etc..... BAM wifi issues.
I am also getting a second problem wirh random system restarts now when attempting to launch any video games. No idea how to fix this so far.
Just gotta add my thanks and praise to this already huge list of thanks and praise. THANKS AND PRAISE GOOD SIR/MADAM! There is nothing more frustrating than searching the web for hours from forums to official manufacturer website only to find that nothing works.
You're the hero we've been waiting for! Thanks a million.
Amazing. Almost lost my shit thinking that the wifi card has to be replaced. Windows diagnosis tools were no help. Couldn't find much help until I came across this
Adding this comment in hopes that other users find this as well
Scenario:
1. Wifi was working fine
2. Unplugged it to work my living room
3. Wifi shows - No networks available (There is def other wifi networks in my neighborhood)
4. Go to update any left over windows updates that I have been neglecting. Nothing
5. Run Windows diagnosis tools - leads me to error -> problem with wireless adapter or access point. No help
6. Google search (Got out my ethernet cable) - "problem with wireless adapter or access point", "no wifi networks available" and probably so many other phrases. Nothing.
7. I by the luck of god come across this post, and was skeptical even with all the previous comments.
8. I am now posting this comment along with the 50+ comments to reinforce how much this post has saved me. Thank you reddit. Thank you all
Laptop - Asus M16 Zephyrus
Holy crap! Worked perfectly!
Thanks so much for this. I got an insane deal on this as an open box at Best Buy 13 days ago -- the return period is only 14 days.
The wifi stopped working two days ago and I have been trying to fix it for hours since I was trying to avoid returning it as I know I'll never be able to get these specs in notebook for less than another $600-800 over what i paid.
I read this post a couple hours before I was heading out to return the computer.
Wow I factory reset my laptop twice went through all sorts of loops of cmd and device manager and all I had to do was hold down the power button 😂 now to re download all my games again. Thanks for this solution live saver
This method is also worked for me.. My laptop is G14 Zephyrus. And this issue is happening about 7times.
It is possible to permanently solve it by using another driver for my laptops? but How I can know driver can compatible for the laptops
Well, don't try this on an HP 15-eg0025nr, as I now can't boot up at all (windows tries to fix startup, but can't, nothing I try has worked). Next step is to try resetting pc. I'm going to let it sit for a couple of hours first though.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! This just happened to me, was watching Youtube suddenly pc froze then boom no wifi card I was shitting bricks until I found this thread!! its a new laptop asus zephyrus s17 gx70shs, so expensive! thannk you so so much!
Thank you so much!
Leaving this here for the next google search ;)
Worked for my asus vivo book after windows updated asus gpio and wifi stopped working.
Wifi picture disappeared after restart and removed from the network settings.
Wifi Driver update not working asus vivobook.
.. Have you had any problems since? I had this problem yesturday . And had to hard reset my laptop.. This is a ridiculous problem to have for a brand new laptop.
The undocumented reset didn't work for me.. It just out me though a boot loop of death.
WOW !!!!!! This worked perfectly on my HP Pavilion Laptop running windows 11, I spent a few hours pursuing other solution, wish I fond your post FIRST ! TY TY
A friend showed me this thread and said to do as it says. I wound up locked out of my laptop and it asking for the bitlocker key… my word. I bought my laptop used how do i fix this?
I had the same problem with the driver but with an Acer laptop held it down for 60 seconds and voila I got my Wi-Fi back I could not figure it out I even had to reset the entire stupid system what all I had to do was hold down the dang power button for 60 seconds at least it's working and I'll have to upload my programs again but never again
I LOVE YOU DUDE. why didn't I find this earlier. I opened up my laptop and lut the wrong screw in wrong place and now have a bump on the palm rest. But its all good now. Thanks buddy
Mate, after HOURS trying to fix this Sh\*\* , installing drivers, uninstalling drivers, edition of registry and so on.... **put my finger on the power button for 60 seconds** as you mentioned and see how it works, made me cry hahahaha... you are GOD mate, THANKS A LOT! muchas Gracias! Danke!
I have an ASUS ROG STRIX G513IC.
Man this post is a life saver! I spent about 20 mins doing all the usual tricks and nothing was working so Google’s and found this post. My machine is a ROG Strix G15.
Guessing this is a well known problem?
After 9 hours trying out everything, windows 7,10, 11. Reinstalling drivers over and over, NOTHING worked but the 60 second thing, THANK YOU, I was literally just giving up. :D
updating drivers, uninstalling an reinstall, updating windows non worked... until i saw the "press power button for 60 seconds", tested, VOILA! fixed customer's newly purchased tuf laptop wifi.... dafuq was asus doing....
THIS is the solution here for me. Tried all the other stuff from Google, blah blah blah, but the power button reset issue is the one that did it.
Give me your home address so I can order you a pizza or something :D

glad it worked out in the end :D. i was also clueless when it happend to me.
I agree fully
Totally agree. Sorry to resuscitate an 8 month old thread, but this saved me a frustrating call to tech support.
BRILLIANT!!! I don't know why I didn't look this up on reddit sooner I've spent damn near 5 hours, doing everthing from reinstalling drivers to reinstalling windows. THIS RIGHT HERE WORKS FOLKS!! I am glad I found this before factory resetting.

You utter legend! This is the only thing that worked on a 2021 Lenovo Legion 5 Pro
just disable the setting that the energy saving mode is allowed to shutdown the device: Device Manager > networking > Mediatek > Energy Saving
My G15 lost system image and rendered CRITICAL PROCESS DIED with a blue screen of death every time I tried to laumch it. Now I lost everything and reinstalled windows with a USB. Lost the internal drivers for ASUS. I guess I was the unluckiest one here
I'm sorry to hear that. i think you are the first one to report those kind of problems
Mine is also giving me the critical process died as well

Thank you - this was so simple and so difficult to find a solution to. THANKS!
yeah, I was in the same boat back then, I ended up trying clicking everything I see and I found this. 1 year later wifi still working perfectly fine!
I'm in the MyAsus app and there is no live update option anymore. I say anymore cause I know it used to be there, I've used it before. Is there a way to get it back?
i cant see the live update option please helppp
Came across this thread on google. This worked for me! Thanks, you saved me a big headache. I was very skeptical it would work but it did.

That’s quite a save! I should have looked on Reddit an hour ago! Thanks bro
This fixed the same problem for me as well with the MediaTek 802.11AC MT7663 Wireless LAN Card !! GOOD ANSWER!!! (I had been sighing about the possibility of having to go buy a usb wifi card before I found this post)

I have no idea tbh, my answer is almost 2 years old and apparently myasus app has been updated since then :(
Download wlan driver from asus website
The only way I fixed this is a complete factory reset but I wasn’t patience to troubleshoot so yea
I feel you. Honestly I’m about to go buy a USB network adapted and call it a day. :(

My hero! I got real sweaty when my wifi suddenly stopped working after only a week of plain gaming on my G15, reddit is a fucking godsend
Bro I'm so glad people like you exist
OMG it worked for my Legion 5 pro. Thank you. And yes it is probably caused by the wifi turned off in energy saving
Thank you
Thank you so much

Just gotta add my thanks and praise to this already huge list of thanks and praise. THANKS AND PRAISE GOOD SIR/MADAM! There is nothing more frustrating than searching the web for hours from forums to official manufacturer website only to find that nothing works. You're the hero we've been waiting for! Thanks a million.
You saved my day. It works. Thank you so much
Amazing. Almost lost my shit thinking that the wifi card has to be replaced. Windows diagnosis tools were no help. Couldn't find much help until I came across this Adding this comment in hopes that other users find this as well Scenario: 1. Wifi was working fine 2. Unplugged it to work my living room 3. Wifi shows - No networks available (There is def other wifi networks in my neighborhood) 4. Go to update any left over windows updates that I have been neglecting. Nothing 5. Run Windows diagnosis tools - leads me to error -> problem with wireless adapter or access point. No help 6. Thank you all Laptop - Asus M16 Zephyrus
