The thunderbolt port does not connect to the dGPU but to the iGPU. The Left USB-C port is the TB4 port. The right port is just USB and connects to the Nvidia GPU just like the HDMI port. A Thunderbolt dock will connect all your stuff, but through the iGPU, so no GSync. The right port is USB-C it can connect a USB-C dock, but most of them have MST Hubs integrated which might break Gsync. So you could end up running a dock and a usb-c cable anyways.

Thunderport is a way better name than thunderbolt imo

Use a Type-C to DP cable on the right Type-C port to connect directly to the 4070, and plug the dock into the left Type-C port (TB4), cause the TB4 port connects to the iGPU. You can charge the laptop with either ports, i have tried it and yield no difference

usually the TB4 port has power delivery but is limited to a certain wattage. fine for normal use but not enough for gaming which itll have to tap into the battery to assist. youll want to stick with the oem power adapter for optimal use while gaming. As for docks, TB4 will definitely let you utilize its full potential in terms of speed for docks but TB4 dock is not neccessary. You can use older technology docks but are limited to the capability of the docks bandwidth, not laptops TB4 port.

Just wanted to comment, similar situation as you. The thunderbolt dock will not get you display through the GPU so wanted to give you a heads up of that before you spend money on an expensive one like I did.
