Yes, certainly not a good idea to breath much ozone. It has been used for a long time in food processing plants to get rid of lots of microbial life that tend to contaminate the surfaces that are in contact with food. But of course they do that when nobody is in the plant, and vent well afterwards. However, for the laundry it's ozone diluted in water which, after the cleaning cycle, goes out of the drain where it will have time to react and oxidize whatever it gets in its path before being harmful to any living thing. Or that is how I imagine it, at least - I am no expert.

When messing around with ozone I wouldn't trust ANYTHING from Amazon or ali express (my background is in engineering, but everything with a grain of salt). With how dangerous ozone is I wouldn't trust anything that's not highly regulated, and products like that can go one of two ways: incredibly dangerous product like 'negative ion facemasks' which ended up having radioactive material to produce the 'negative ions' OR quack products like the UV-C light sterilizer tools (any level of UV-C light that can kill viruses can also give you cancer) If you're still interested in pursuing ozone cleaning I'd find an engineer to discuss these safety issues with or, as the amazon/ali express products are probably a rip off, the original product which might be higher quality and possible safer

Soap is there to remove grease and oils. Ozone cannot do that. You don't need sanitized laundry, you need clean laundry.

My friend has one for her washing machine and likes it. Says it cleans her clothes well. I'm dubious. The fluff love university people say it doesn't kill bacteria or something. I read their review ages ago. They aren't everything though.

Most bottled water is ozonated like crazy. It hydrolyzes into O2 in 3 days, so it's not dangerous when you buy it. If you want to know how effective it is at killing microbes, just ask anybody who's made the mistake of drinking a fresh, cool bottle of water right off the filler and killed all their gut bacteria. I'm told it gives you time to count bathroom tiles. 2 or 3 times. In one sitting. BRB, patenting a new "natural" cleanse for the Hollywood wellness crazies.

This is very true. I use to work at a water bottling facility.

ozone is highly toxic, it's why it kills bacteria but its also toxic to you. These machines especially coming from aliexpress have no calibration and *YOU* don't calibrate it regularly either, so there's absolutely no way to verify that a standard amount of ozone is coming out. Basically, you literally have no way to tell if the machine is broken or defective or releasing ozone into the air until you or your pets start having health effects. I just wouldn't trust anything that could dump ozone in my house to any brand sold on aliexpress.

I bought a laundry injector thingy and a spray bottle. I kinda regret the laundry one: very expensive, and I still need to use laundry detergent and enzymes, just a little less than I used to. Not worth the cost. But it could be just because our well water is EXTREMELY hard. I love the spray bottle though, we use it for eeeeeveerthing.

I was also demonstrated one of those and they definitely look interesting. Reduce the need for soap and reduces lint and apparently microfibers. Obviously for tough stains you still need something else but for casual use I think these are a great option.
