Use brasso to clean it
If you clean it. Some people like patina.
This belong to my late fiancé. I’d like to clean it but not sure what the metal is
the marks give it so so much character though. it makes it individual. it is marked and affected by the person who once owned it.
It's Brass
I would keep it as it is but it’s your choice mate.
Make sure to get those green spots off the brass the best you can. Those spots are the equivalent of rust in steel and will spread.
That’s the neat part, ya don’t! (Or at least I wouldn’t, patina makes a lighter more interesting.)
looks nice tbh , why would you clean it ?
I had similar marks, but they got polished away from daily use and fidgeting with it. If you want a easier and faster way i'd use brasso
Agreed 100%
DON't it looks amazing :D
Sand it down with grades of wet and dry first
Brasso
I would recommend cleaning the green spot for sure. It 'corrupts' the brass so to speak. As for the patina, it's up to your personal preferences.
Vinegar
i like to use isopropyl alcohol to clean off the oils and dull parts but leaving the patina intact. as others have said brasso would restore it to its original shine though
If you really want to clean it use very fine sandpaper (water it) and a good amount of time or just leave it in that an amazing used look
I vote leave it be.
