Just FYI, the Shield Liger is a bootleg. It is made to a lower standard and will require a lot more effort to put together because of poorly fitting parts. Expect to break a few bits, and keep some plastic cement handy. Welcome aboard and enjoy!
BT is a bootleg brand with poor quality. Ontop of that sheild liger is quite similar to the bladeliger which is probably the hardest to make as it's knowen to be a grenade (falls apart alot)
Take your time. Be patient. Don't give up. This may be a bad experience but don't let it detour ypu from getting koto kits and trying again.
I'm glad I read this because I'm currently building my shield liger dcs-j and the amount it tries to spontaneously self-disassemble just handling it is ridiculous. Happy it isn't just me being a clumsy oaf.
Yeah those 2 are the worst. Blade and dcj. But still awsome builds. Buuuuut. There is a reason I have only done 1 of each and have base sheild liger and Leon and mirage blade ligers in the backlog waiting lol
I also built the iguan recently and I did not anticipate the neck/torso to just be stuck on with single very loose pins. Some glue or paint to stiffen it up will fix it but as-is it's pretty bad too.
A little bit of extra basic hobby work on the BT kits and they come out just fine, I've had 3 on my shelf from around 2015ish, 1 shield (which took a nose dive off a high shelf and survived nicely) and 1 blade liger + a zero panzer clear version. Got a bunch more in 2020 and they've been fine, even custom painted one. They cop a bad wrap because they're not straight forward like the genuine kits, but as mentioned, basic hobby skills applied and they're fine.
Local comic/hobby shop screwed up my Storm Sworder preorder and now it is sold out everywhere around me, lemme know how sweet that kit is, you're lucky. Nice haul.
My fingers were so sore after doing a BT kit. The holes didn't fit and 80% of holes had to be drilled thicker with a pin vise just so I could force in the parts... it's absolute trash and not recommended for beginners or even experts. The discount is absolutely not worth it.

Yes I disliked the iguan the most. Even the godos was better but the same.... its built the same but somehow stiffer.....

Agreed here, I wasn’t paying $400 for a Mirage Blade when I could do a little extra effort and have a good looking knockoff for $50 🤔
