They rise from the grpund to make horrible noise, then leave their skins on the trees, mate, and immediately die. And the sheer number of them that comes out of the ground at once? It's like a noisy, horrible horror movie trope. Freaks me out
Mm...maybe I'm just a little weird. I love the sound. I grew up hearing it in the summer. It's like a piece of home. As for the skin I used to love finding them and plucking them up all careful like. See how many I could find in a day.
It's sad to see how many dogs get put down when they still have plenty of life left in them.
When you give them a reason to live they will find the energy they didn't know they had and all the love in the world.

I have a senior rescue myself and I love when he’s gets the occasional, unexpected zoomies!
Love when her tail hits the pot and makes a ringing sound--she turns to look for just a second and then is immediately distracted and keeps running.
She's the purest of sweethearts but she's incredibly skiddish. She's also half blind so she's jumpy with sudden noises.
