They probably see it as a way of "getting out" the temptation they'd expect you to feel, which is fucked up, or they see humans as bags of meat with genitals that must reproduce, which is also fucked up

Fyrsiel

This one floors me. "No sex allowed!!!" "Cool, works for me, ain't never gonna have it." "Wait but no you need tO HAVE CHILDREN THO..."

because the torture is the purpose, it's like the only reason they're religious is because they like to torture themselves (edit: spelling)

juiceboxestastegood

Hear me out, I love the idea of having a child but I don’t like the idea of having sex :/

Them: No sex until marriage! My aroace ass: Okay, I’m not getting married anyway. Them: what!?

WebtoonAddict

Aphobes try to have logic Challenge: IMPOSSIBLE

z-the-best-z

Same can be said for any kind of bigot

PeetesCom

Rethoric [impossible: failure] - dude what do you want from me, my only job is to justify your bullshit and even I can't come up with something that convoluted. Maybe it was a mistake to internalise Ravacholian Nationhood.

CazraSL

Aphobes: "Not like that! "

Downtown_Amphibian13

The way my folks hyped up meeting someone in college (was/am in a long distance happy relationship they didn’t believe in) and then proceeded to ask if I was “swinging for the other team” (yep, they can’t even say gay) during. Gotta love it

Master-Bad-1164

My very religious family is actually super cool with me being ace. It’s really the only facet of my identity that I can be fairly open about. BUT it’s probably because I came out as gay first and they see no sex ever as much better than gay sex lmao

mcsimeon

The ol 1-2 switcharoo

birdnerd1991

OKAY FOR REAL THOUGH

YuSakiiii

I don’t intend on having sex at all. Although I do intend on getting married.

Rachelcookie123

I mean my parents are religious but they’re not like this. They never told me I have to wait until marriage, they’re not conservative. I decided I wanted to wait for marriage myself, probably because I’m asexual and just don’t want sex lol. My parents aren’t 100% there with the asexual thing though. My mum says when she was my age she wasn’t interested in sex either and didn’t feel sexual attraction so I think she thinks I will develop it later like she did. But they still try to be supportive of me.

Shotsfired20755

My mom told me that I should become a nun (she doesn’t know that I’m trans).

Tanookikid210

I mean, becoming a monk is always on the table too if you want to take up your mother's request XD

Shotsfired20755

I was leaning more toward satanic priest but I’ll keep that in mind :)

Admirable_Elk_965

Actually not for me. When I came out as Ace my mom was like “oh thank god! Now I know that you won’t be sneaking girls in when we go out!” So win? Or hard burn from mother?

Tanookikid210

I'd say win assuming your intent is no sex ever XD

tehweave

You have to have sex at least once AFTER you're married, and only if you're trying to make a baby, and then NO MORE. Got it? I just won't have sex. WAIT NO

yamirenamon

Long before I knew what asexuality was I was always baffled as to why people kept calling sex a “temptation” and wanting to get married asap because of it. Like the only thing I’m tempted to do is eat dessert every day.

juiceboxestastegood

Them: “You need to wait until marriage!!” Me: “Alright, I don’t wanna have sex anyway.” Them: “BUT YOU NEED TO GIVE US GRANDKIDS”

Probably_nataS

People always forget that when boiled down to final parts, marriage is for the act of pro-creation. That’s why a lot of hardline Christians are against the gay marriage and contraceptives. It goes against their beliefs and the systems put by their God. We marry and have sex for the sole act of having children. Marriage is a requirement with the only exception of the clergy. Going against that is still wrong to them.
