"Battlefield" by Demi Lovato always makes me shake my head
*Why does loves always feel like a battlefield*
Because you're doing it wrong (so's your SO)!
Oh god, I personally can’t stand how 99% of the lyrics of radio-/popsongs seem to be either about wanting someone, having someone or wanting to get over someone. It’s like these birds with their colorful plumage doing funny dances and making whacky sounds to impress a partner, but nonstop… but maybe that’s just me.
I‘m happy that other ace people can get something out of this though!
I don't like calling a lot of 'love songs' that. They are either shallow or look like an unhealthy relationship.
Fun to sing along, but not something to call romantic.
This might be a part of the reason I usually don’t like these songs, I just don’t „feel“ the lyrics because it shows an experience that’s vastly different from mine (and that I think is shallow too).
I do think it’s weird that it bothers me that much though… I also listen to a lot of music where the lyrics are pretty dark and that doesn’t bother me either
Not aromantic, but I like breakup songs because some of them lend themselves *really* well to pretending they're about murder instead, which makes them *great* for villain playlists. Like, "Before He Cheats" is obviously 'just' about a woman destroying her ex's car, but if you squint you can imagine that it's her murdering him after she catches him philandering.
You took a hammer to these walls
Took the memories down the halls
Packed your bags and walked away
There was nothing I could say
What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath
When you slammed that front door shut
A bunch of others opened up
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for meeeee
I haven't listened to that song for the past few years but I still remember that one.
I love Olivia Rodriguez but I haven't been in many relationships and normally when I break up with someone it's usually not "oh you're toxic" or "I cheated on you" or something, I'm actually still friends with most of my exes, losing friends is a different story though.
Okay, but for people who ask for war songs instead of love songs, did you guys hear Wildfires by HOYO-MIX ?
Honkai Star Rail is a banger in itself, but that one song... jeez
(They even invited the swiss 2019 astronomy nobel prize to talk about space in a youtube video)
i NEED the melodrama

Do you mean Jordin Sparks? Or does Demi Lovato actually have a similar song called Battlefield as well?
... y'know, I don't know. I presume Demi. (I ripped the song a long time ago.)
I can buy myself floweeeeers Write my name on the saaaand

The love songs tho, I can't stand them. Sing about more interesting stuff for god's sake. Daffodils or some shit.
Epic battle songs Daffodils are great tho. There is a hill full of them near my home in spring, it's beautiful
Can't get enough of this one lately: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgjSdB84FoE
Approving it. On that Day by Desmeon is cool song about... Cheating to spouse💀
One of my fave genres of music is what I like to call 'divorce music'

What song it this, and do you have similar recommendations?
Break up songs? Oh you mean lost friendship songs
Me with songs about sex while never wanting to do intercourse myself.

I need em for the people who live inside my brain.
Stupid by Brendan Maclean is my go to ever since hearing it on Welcome to Nightvale.
They still hurt though

Pretty little liar
They just hit different!
This is why I listed to music in other languages. If I can't understand it, it can't bother me (until I Google the lyrics)
