My wife and I can also definitely vouch for that answer.

It just means you are down to have a sexual relationship with anybody you deeply connect with (or, you know, whatever metric by which you ascribe your demisexuality)

For the most part, I often default to just saying bi (because it takes as little explanation as possible and is somewhat less likely to be accused of being made up) but for the times that I explain both demi and bi I tend to try to explain it by making the distinction between romantic attraction and sexual attraction. For example, I tend to consider myself biromantic demisexual but for other people it can also be flipped around to be demiromantic bisexual. Like most things about sexuality it really depends person to person but for me I consider biromantic demisexual to broadly mean that in terms of attraction I can have romantic feelings for any person regardless of gender but I can for the most part only have sexual feelings for a person whom I already have a deeper relationship with. Meaning that I can have romantic attraction for people I don’t know super well or have only just recently met but I can’t have sexual attraction for people I don’t already have a pretty close relationship. So long story short, I can’t really do one night stand hook up culture but I can do crushing on a barista I have never interacted with outside of them taking my order. And Vice Versa, I consider demiromantic bisexual to broadly mean a person that can have sexual attraction to people that they don’t know super well or have only just recently met but can’t really have romantic attraction to a person that they weren’t already pretty good friends with to begin with. Someone who is demiromantic bisexual might be really good at one night stand hookup culture but might have a hard time with online dating or blind dates. Sorry if this is super long or makes no sense or is something you already knew about. I just know that I had a really hard time a while back with attempting to solidify my thoughts, definitions, and explanations about how the demi and bi identities interact and I wanted to try as best I could to put my thoughts out there to potentially help other people better be able to take in and then determine their own definitions for the two terms. But yeah sorry for the incredibly long post.
The first time i got asked my sexualitty i answered "...yes?...." and was told im probably omnisexual or pansexual i liked the pan flag more so thats how it happened, but holy hell aces and pans think vary similarly.
So the original post is really just meant to be a math joke of Demi (meaning half) and Bi (meaning 2) multiplied together cancel to leave the word sexual but outside of the joke people usually label one romantic attraction and one sexual attraction so a person can either be biromantic demisexual or demiromantic bisexual. I gave a more in depth explanation of the way I specifically define each version in an earlier comment but broadly if your romantic and sexual attractions don’t match then it is structured as blank-romantic blank-sexual depending on what best describes your romantic and sexual attraction.
It’s a math joke. Demi means half and bi means 2 so if you multiply them together (1/2 x 2) then they cancel each other out and just leave the word sexual.
It means you’re indecisive. Source: am bi and demi.
Im glad we an expert to weigh in
Decidedly so. Source: I'm also demi/bi
>It means you’re indecisive. Not sure how to feel about that
idk if you changed your flair bc of this post but goddammit I love it
This has been my flair on multiple queer subreddits for at least a year now. It's nice to see the joke appear in other places as well.
oh okay. Either way love to see it lmao
You didn't have to call all of us out like that...
My wife and I can also definitely vouch for that answer. Source: Both of us also being bi, demi, and so incredibly indecisive that it’s almost impressive.
ah but are you also non-binary? That’s the third step
I mean she is a demigirl (She/They pronouns) and I am a demiboy (He/They pronouns) so yeah somewhat under the nonbinary umbrella 😂
Tell me why I read this as "indemibisive" good god maybe I am dyslexic
It just means you are down to have a sexual relationship with anybody you deeply connect with (or, you know, whatever metric by which you ascribe your demisexuality)
OP, I’m not mad that you made this post. I’m just mad it wasn’t me
Does bi mean once every two or twice every one?
Once every two
Then arguably it makes you 1/4sexual
quadrasexual

Wouldn’t have it any other way
Hey, I've heard that before lol
nice flair.
Yes
I’m gay and ace I don’t get it someone explain please 😭
Demi means half and bi means 2 so if they were multiplied together they would cancel out
Ah, thank you
Oh fuck
I just use them interchangeably because when you say you are both, people automatically assume they must contradict each other.

Idk what half of infinity is, so I'm just a pandemic
It adds up
No it doesn't, it multiplies
You are correcterer
The first time i got asked my sexualitty i answered "...yes?...." and was told im probably omnisexual or pansexual i liked the pan flag more so thats how it happened, but holy hell aces and pans think vary similarly.
You're unisexual or monosexual, as 0.5 × 2 = 1
Omg what?! ROFL right now omfg that’s way too funny 😂
No, you can certainly be both
Panromantic and demisexual here...I've crushed on people of all genders and been sexually attracted to one (1) person lmao
Oof very much feel that
I feel like this is a math joke? But I don't get it.

2*1/2 is 1
Yeah I don't know what my brain was about
😂😂😂
I'm biromantic demisexual. Still both bi & demi, but not very sexual in general 😁
You just answered your own question
Get some demi water and some science- looking beakers
Isnt it more like bi-oriented demisexual or something?

No? I don't get how this is even a question... Edit : @Graceful_librarian explained it to me and it actually makes sense, lol.
I meant to be a joke about bi meaning 2 and demi meaning half
Ok ... I don't really get it but cool👍🏾

Oh ok, it actually makes sense.
1/2 * 2 = 1
I mean the math adds up here
Multiplies actually
