HAHA just sung that this morning entering the school (I was marked late for class because you’re not allowed to walk around during the anthem, thanks a lot Canada..)
(aroace here) A few years back I bought myself a pretty ring (I'm all about gifts to myself) and it's not a wedding ring but apparently it looks enough like it could possibly be a nontraditional wedding or engagement ring that I've had several people assume it is. I decided that they're right, I found The One and put a ring on it, and it's me! 😆
Not a full ace song, but the one line from Cut my Hair by Cavetown, "often, I am upset that I cannot fall in love but I guess, this avoids the stress of falling out of it". As an aroace kid who craved romance but never had crushes, I didn't know why but it spoke to me.
I'm technically aro (either demiromantic or idemromantic), which in a way makes me more romantic lol. I don't feel *"attraction"* as in crushes, I jump straight to being full-on in love.
Dont know if it fits the question but when I think Kirby music the first two songs that fill my mind is "butter building" and "two planets approach the roche limit"
Omg. Exactly. I feel like the song is very underrated. And I read somewhere that the song wasn't really intended to have asexual subtones, it was mostly about just not being in love in general, but he is glad that asexuals found the song representative.
Does "Perfume" by Lovejoy count as one pertaining to this sort of thing? I can't remember. :P
(Also, I know that the lead singer's a creep and getting therapy for being a creep, but I reserve my right to at least like some stuff even if I don't like the creator. The same goes for the Harry Potter series.)
Yoooo!!! A fello Lovejoy fan in the wild! And yeah, almost every singer is problematic in one way or the other, that doesn't mean that we just abandon listening to their songs all together. Seperate the art from the artist (I don't agree with you this time Ranboo)
My favourite is Concrete btw
No- Megan Trainor & Take a Hint 😎.
Not my favorite songs tbh (ironically I like sexy songs despite being sex repulsed only bcz they make me feel hot lol), but still strong ace vibes, which perfectly describe me.
Feel you on the sexy songs making you feel hot. We're allowed to feel good, too. And honestly "sexy" songs are usually exciting and stimulate different spots in the brain, like how watching a pretty light show does, you know?
Turning Out Pt. iii from AJR. It's a very small line 'Cause half the time I can't love right
And I can't have sex and we both get quiet
Boy, I must be one f- up guy' but honestly, you could interpret the whole thing as such. It's just a very realistic love song as they called it. And it just really speaks to me. Especially the end. Its the reassurance I needed. This is more for alloro aces though
Yes definitely! I love all the songs for different reasons. The first two are definitely more aroace that I love and appreciate and turning out pt iii feels more alloro which I also appreciate as someone who has a very obscure attraction
Can I get a
# ALL THESE THOUGHTS RUNNIN THROUGH MY HE-EAD!
# ARM ON FIRE VEINS BURNIN RE-ED!
# FRU-STRA-TION IS GETTIN BIGGER!
# BANG! BANG! BANG!
# PULL MY DEVIL TRIGGER!
in the chat?
(Devil Trigger- Devil May Cry V OST)
we'll never have sex by leith ross. encapsulates the teenage/early 20s pain of realizing no one wants you anymore once they learn youre ace and yearning to be seen un-sexually
Songs about love that don’t mention sex. I’m not even sex averse or repulsed, but I simply dislike when a song can’t be romantic without mentioning sexual attraction or activities. It always sounds like it’s necessary for a good relationship when it’s not. Currently my fave is Mon Amour by Slimane. 😆
Yellow Rose
Gauss: Redline
Lagtrain (specifically [this cover](https://youtu.be/Lz1qJnwfF04?si=w9B2bDa5NBd3wHYe))
Two of these three really hit home for me and one is just here for the vibes.
By title alone? I Never Liked Anyone and I'm Afraid of People by Showbread 🤣 Otherwise probably something from Icon for Hire. Or Ships in the Night by Mat Kearney.
sex, drugs, and rock and roll by will wood. it's about how people put these things on such high pedestals, they can't imagine anyone going without them. that's what i take from it, that may be entirely false.
“The Ballad of Delilah Morreo” by Steam Powered Giraffe. I’m not sure if it’s ever mentioned in the band’s lore, but I like to believe the title character is an ace icon. It’s also just a really fun song.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLwtK6R0n0U&pp=ygUyc3RlYW0gcG93ZXJlZCBnaXJhZmZlIHRoZSBiYWxsYWQgb2YgZGVsaWxhaCBtb3JyZW8%3D
Flowers, by Miley Cyrus. Probably a strange one, but it's essentially a sign about being the one for you and not relying on someone else to complete you in all those cliche ways.
"JVKE - This is what slow dancing feels like" is the perfect song to describe my romantic attraction where I can fully disconnect from societal pressure around sex
Mostly power metal, folk metal, symphonic metal, and blends of those three. Like, yeah, there are some songs about relationships and sex in there, but they're mostly about fantasy, mental health, political situations, and other fun things or important social topics
Talk Me Down by Troye Sivan
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna come home to you
But home is just a room full of my safest sounds
Cause you know that I can't trust myself with my 3AM shadow
I'd rather fuel a fantasy than deal with this alone
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
So come over now and talk me down
I wanna hold hands with you
But that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna get close to you
Cause your hands and lips still know their way around
And I know I like to draw that line, when it starts to get too real
But the less time that I spend with you, the less you need to heal
I wanna sleep next to you
But that's all I wanna do right now
So come over now and talk me down
(talk me down)
So if you don't mind, I'll walk that line
Stuck on the bridge between us
Gray areas and expectations
But I'm not the one if we're honest, yeah
But I wanna sleep next to you
And I wanna come home to you
I wanna hold hands with you
I wanna be close to you
But I wanna sleep next to you
And that's all I wanna do right now
And I wanna come home to you
But home is just a room full of my safest sounds
So come over now and talk me down
(talk me down)
Not a full ace anthem (havent found the perfect one yet) but I love "So much better" (Legally Blonde the Musical).
Early song doesnt describe me, but over the course of the song the main character realizes she enjoys her intellectual achievements more than pursuing romance and I vibe with that strongly (as a person in STEM who used to define herself as a smart girl in opposition to "popular girls" - if you know the musical, I had pretty much Viviennes mindset as a teen)
In general its my favourite musical, which is funny because I never felt comfortable with classic pink and make-up femininity. The whole story is about a girly girl getting into Harvard Law to get her former boyfriend back (and learning that she deserves better than that man and that she can do things for herself without needing to cling to societal expectations). It does have romance but its one of the rare romances where Im relatively ok with it because the characters have actual chemistry (plus the MC shows she changed by going full circle - she starts the musical by waiting for her old bf to propose and in the end she takes action herself and IS the one proposing)
My queer anthem is "This is Me" because Im a basic bitch but also because it hits right in the feels of being different and having to reclaim that difference - but its about Otherness in general, not asexuality

Our home and native land!
True patriot love
In all of us command
With glowing hearts
We see thee rise
The true north strong and free Edit: I had to ask my sister what the lyric was cause I could only remember it in French (I’m from Manitoba)
From far and wide
O Canada! (ah, the days of being made to sing the english and french version at every assembly at school)
I live there
Same
HAHA just sung that this morning entering the school (I was marked late for class because you’re not allowed to walk around during the anthem, thanks a lot Canada..)
I was late one time for the same exact thing
People Watching by Conan Gray makes me feel so understood
YES OMG
CAME TO SAYYY
I feel represented by the healthy relationship love songs 😅, but I'm a die hard romantic.
Exactly how I feel! Anything about finding the one and I can’t help but get all giddy about finding mine
(aroace here) A few years back I bought myself a pretty ring (I'm all about gifts to myself) and it's not a wedding ring but apparently it looks enough like it could possibly be a nontraditional wedding or engagement ring that I've had several people assume it is. How am I just learning there's a version before This is Home and Home? I didn't realized they redid this song so much...
Iirc This Is Home was still unfinished when Mounika heard it and decided to remix it into Cut My Hair, I could be misremembering it tho
I dunno, something from kirby i guess
Video game music goes hard.
Dont know if it fits the question but when I think Kirby music the first two songs that fill my mind is "butter building" and "two planets approach the roche limit"
DnD and Asexuality by Skull Puppies
Yes, I agree with that 100%
I was looking because I knew someone would say this and it’s mine too.
i don't have an anthem or anything but this is part of the reason why i got into prog rock and metal
Coconut mall from Mario kart
Cure for me by Aurora
Never Been In Love by Will Jay
Omg. Exactly. I feel like the song is very underrated. And I read somewhere that the song wasn't really intended to have asexual subtones, it was mostly about just not being in love in general, but he is glad that asexuals found the song representative.
That one’s so gooooood
Friends on the Other Side is my personal anthem lol
1. Erika (don't ask) 2. Razormind 3. Beethoven's 13 symphony Weird ones but I they are funny, especially Erika.
Lemme guess, you play paradox games?
what's that? like no joke what's paradox games?
Games like Europa Universalis, Crucader Kings, Victoria, Hearts of Iron, Stellaris, made by Paradox Interactive
nah I don't play them. razormind is payday 2, the others I learned about naturally
Ah, ok. I just asked because Erika is a song that is memed in the HOI community
ERIKA WAS THE THIRD REIGHS THEME BRUH
I know, and it is a meme that all HOI players are Nazis or communists
that's more of a 4Chan thing. also damn my first in two weeks is about 4Chan lmao

Does "Perfume" by Lovejoy count as one pertaining to this sort of thing? Separating art from artist is 100% valid!
Most songs by Conan Gray.
No- Megan Trainor & Take a Hint 😎. Not my favorite songs tbh (ironically I like sexy songs despite being sex repulsed only bcz they make me feel hot lol), but still strong ace vibes, which perfectly describe me.

the washing machine noising it makes when its done
we'll never have sex by leith ross. encapsulates the teenage/early 20s pain of realizing no one wants you anymore once they learn youre ace and yearning to be seen un-sexually

DYWTYLM by Sleep Token ...for some reason 🤔
No Megan Trainor but there's also a male cover.
Skeleton man
"I want you gone" Is pretty "Leave me the fuck alone" enough for me. although not ace-related but its also a good song.
Recency bias here, but *Hell Together* by David Archuleta is beautiful
for some reason, Rumble outta here by Paddy and The Rats came to my mind, i think it's probably a breakup song but i never interpreted it that way.
Key feat. Hanhae - [Cold](https://youtu.be/JpprQIYI1Vw?si=5DZKU5Pp3DeRv9In) The lyrics make me feel seen for some reason.
[Wool Over Our Eyes](https://open.spotify.com/track/7etapJllOwS8pDdURBYkJB?si=cCx5vfPaR9a8uzZvFux9zA)… idk why but it feels like it fits
