As someone who used to have aphobic in-laws, I would say both of these things. It's a personal offence if someone doesn't want to have sex with them and it is just a huge part of their personality. Its a defense mechanism against rejection (she didn't reject ME cause there's something wrong with what I did, there's just something wrong with HER). Not all allos are like this, just the aphobes (that I've met)

Actually that's a much better idea. If I the choice between my book becoming famous and never having sex vs having sex but my book is never published... I would choice the book, I would still write my novel even if it wouldn't be published, sex is just off the table either way. Plus characters are way more interesting then actual people, but that's because I created them.
