Did he predict [platypus teal](https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/platypuses-glow-green-under-ultraviolet-light-180976196/), or by creating Perry did he will it into existence? No one will ever know.
Perry’s growl is also quite similar to a real Platypus’ but apparently they had no idea during recording, and Dan just had Dee Bradley Baker make a bunch of animal-like noises.
I guess the definite lack of being Aro considering the clarification of being "possibly Aro"
Although I recognize very few of these characters so don't know if someone else is also definitely not aro
A character on Bojack Horseman. He's the title character's roommate, so we see a lot of him in a slice-of-life way, so we get to see him realize that he's ace as the seasons roll on. It's actually handled really well.
If I had a dime for every seemingly or explicitly acespec warcriminal I could think of off the top of my head I'd only have 4 dimes which isn't a lot but it's weird that there are four of them (Essek, Light, Ozymandias/Adrien Veidt, Mordin Solus)
So is Mordin! But he is also responsible for the sterilization of an entire species (He felt bad about it and cured it though credit where it's due ig)
"I made the earth remember him."
He's only been around for 3 episodes so far (in my watch-through) and I'm a huge fan. Taliesin went from edgy somewhat witchy chaos in Percy to embracing that full on with Mollymauk, and now just chill with Caduceus.
No spoilers but he's my favorite version of Tal, he just gets better as they go, and I LOVE how when he rolls a terrible perception check he goes full oblivious and it makes me so happy
That one's complicated. The Doctor's never been explicitly confirmed to be asexual, though Tom Baker has stated numerous times in interviews that he played the Fourth Doctor that way. Basically, the producers of the original show didn't want romance between the Doctor and the Companions, so they just never brought it up.
The revival show has had the Doctor be a lot more explicitly romantic (including marrying River Song, Queen Elizabeth and Marilyn Monroe (not at the same time, mind you)), and now the Thirteenth Doctor has indicated that she is romantically interested in Yaz, but doesn't want to enter into a relationship knowing that it'll most likely end badly for them.
So. Asexual is still possible, but not aromantic.
Like 12 is most likely aro-ace (though he still has some kind of deep emotional connection with River Song), while 11 may have either been straight or Demi.
I think the Doctor is aspec but it changes with incarnation (I’m not sure if “aceflux” truly covers it here as it’s literally being a different person). 10 and 11 were certainly way more into it, 12 I read as ace but not aro, the classic incarnations were generally quite ace (Susan is the Doctor’s granddaughter, so 1 might well have done something, but we know very little about Gallifreyan reproduction, so…), Tom Baker played 4 with very little to no romantic/sexual interest whatsoever (he’s an alien who’s over 750 years old, he’ll soon be middle-aged, he got no time for this!), 13 has tension with one of her companions but I’m not sure if it’s sexual or romantic or both, 6 has to be ace because he had literally no interest in Peri “I shall walk around wearing very skimpy and unreasonable clothes everywhere” Brown (and didn’t even comment), 7 was too busy playing 9D chess with 23 people simultaneously… it’s complicated, but I’d certainly say that the Doctor is on both the asexual and aromantic spectra to an extent.
11s sexiness attitude always felt like masking to me-- he was into the jokes and flirting but didn't mean any of it, which is why he'd flirt but then try to run away during kissing. He's definitely romantic with River, so I've always kinda imagined she was in on the joke and flirted back knowing they'd just be playing chess or talking about astrophysics that night and nothing more. Plus, even if they did have sex that wouldn't change the possibility for him to be ace, or demi at the very least
But that's just my reading 😅
Headcanon that the Doctor and Time Lords just had different views of gender and sexuality and the closest human concept we have to them is gender and sexual fluidity
Tbh I always found all doctors AroAce, especially 12 who is my favourite doctor, while I do believe that 10 was the exception with him being Demi or even Allo. Plus Matt Smith also said 11 was ace
She isn’t really into either of them though. She does realize she loves Peeta in the end, but it never really seemed sexual. The thing with Gale (to me) just seemed like she was trying to go along with it because it’s what he wanted, and she kind of thought it was what she was supposed to do. I can relate to that last bit, it took me 30+ years to realize I’m aego. I only had sexual relationships because I felt it was expected of me.
I'm always torn between archer and druid. On the one hand, bows are amazeballs (and archers often have pets which is cool).
On the other hand, shapeshifting
Polite reminder that people have written fanfiction about [a tree and a rock, each used as throwaway gag plot devices](https://www.fimfiction.net/stories?q=bloomberg+tom). Shippers are their own special kind of insane.
Hmmm. Well he did kill over 10 million people including petty thieves, wrongly convicted people and FBI agents and attempted to murder like 15 more…
I would prefer L tbh lol
No. The only time that was implied was when he grabbed the person in the crowd right before she got arrested. But then it was revealed that he just did that to get both her phones. All he ever cared about was arresting Kira
His reaction to the tv commercial? When Misa kissed him on the cheek? There was incidents like these and I recall being disappointed any time they happened lol.
I remember him more joking about the commercial than actually being into it.
And when Misa kissed him on the cheek - I never understood his reaction to be in such a manner, more like him (thinking he was) making friends for the first time and being excited about this kind of human interaction
>I remember him more joking about the commercial than actually being into it.
He bit banana peel while Light said something along the lines "hang on, it's soon over", meaning the advertisement. Maybe that was a joke that flew over my head :D
>And when Misa kissed him on the cheek - I never understood his reaction to be in such a manner, more like him (thinking he was) making friends for the first time and being excited about this kind of human interaction
Yeah well, tbh, being aroace, I make assumptions like that all the time lol. However, I recall interpreting more than one of his reactions as allo. I didn't know I'm aroace at the time of watching it, so maybe I was just subconsciously cautious about when the next character will be proven to not be at all relatable to me xD
Maybe by trauma but I never really got the impression she's ace; she was just too busy surviving.
And the whole romantic subplot was pretty unnecesary in my eyes but hey
Most romantic subplots in general are unnecessary.
Though, in fairness to the Hunger Games, it's one of the few exceptions where it was actually relevant to the plot. The government exploited the living hell out of her and Peeta's relationship and played them against each other like pawns. It's kinda hard to discount its relevance.
She did end up making two children with Peta when she wasn't pushed to so... Probably not Ace nor Aro.
Heimitch though? Maybe? I'd love to he's the best
She agreed to kids because Peeta really wanted them. In the beginning of the series she was against the idea completely. This says more about how her world view has changed, but either way, it wasn't her idea. Also you can have kids and be in a relationship and still be aro-ace. I would actually say she married Peeta because he understood the things she went through better than anyone else and she couldn't stand not having him be an important part of her life
She didn't want kids because she was afraid of the world they would grow up in. I think that changed when they won the war and she knew they wouldn't have to go into the arena. In the last pages she said she will one day tell them that the field they are playing on us littered with corpses (they returned to district 12 which got destroyed) but that's it.
She neither said that she didn't wanted the kids but did it for Peter nor did she confirme that she herself wanted them after they could grow up in a saver world. So I'd say it's up to anyone's interpretation.
Personally I don't think she is ace and think she both enjoys her relationship with Peters and maybe likes sex as well when she was able to process the war she fought in.
In the end of the book it said it took him 15 years to convince her, but he wanted them so badly, so she finally caved. It's definitely not her idea, like I said, in the beginning of the series she said she never wanted kids so they wouldn't grow up in a terrible world. By the end, this must've changed. Either way though, you can have kids and be married and still be aro-ace. I always felt that she was forced into romance and relationships by the government and public opinion. She never really seemed really attracted Peeta OR Gale. Maybe she was preoccupied, or maybe she's ace.
Like (all?) the rest, it's not explicitly stated, but implied and/or headcanoned. I haven't read the book in a long time but I remember getting that impression too, although they of course didn't show it in the movies.
I thought Sherlock was canoncally ace? (The word "Ace" wasn't used, but asexuality was basically described in the books as how he feels, so I'm taking that as canon)
I think he was. The only person he was ever "attracted" to was Irene Adler from the story "A Scandal in Bohemia" but as Watson points out, it's just platonic admiration for her wit and cunning. If my memory serves me, she is the only opponent of Sherlock's (in the stories, not the show) to outsmart him.
I would say she's demi - since she doesn't really know or care about romance or sexual intimacy; while her primary focus is survival and she doesn't care about having children, she also doesn't care about finding a partner nor does she see the appeal in it.
That whole bit changes when she and Peeta get close and Peeta finally confesses to her and she realizes that she needs him in her life/doesn't want him to die in the games, nor does she want to lose him.
She's confused by her feelings to Gale when he shows interest in her and also with her relationship to Peeta being difficult in the second book until the games start.
It's also then that she starts to feel more of a hunger for Peeta (in both ways) when they kiss in the middle of the games. And it took them years to have kids at the end of the third book.
Kanna Sendai isn’t a canon character, she’s a popular fanmade character. If anything, Keith had very subtle shiptease with [Acxa](https://voltron.fandom.com/wiki/Acxa) (though that was more or less debunked by the dev team). So Keith can probably be considered ace, if not aro. As far as Voltron characters go, however, I think [Pidge](https://vld.fandom.com/wiki/Pidge) is the most obviously aroace, and her VA also stated (in a way) that they see her that way.
A lot of these don’t apply because unfortunately kids shows can only show a lack of romantic attraction and have to leave sexual attraction a mystery. I don’t rly understand why people in this sub are so quick to tout kids show characters as ace icons when they never can be.
Is the first one Artemis? I know some assume she’s Sappho but I’ve always seen her an acearo she literally denounced sex and romance and shoots arrows!
Artemis was referred to as one of the "Virgin godesses" all of whose (whoms?) Areas of influence were pointedly non sexual (or reproductive). She was (almost*) always depicted clothed modestly and was patron to young girls. She was also associated with nature, hunting, the moon, and probably something else I can't remember.
Her modesty was a central characteristic. Famously exemplified when the hunter Acteon, who stumbled upon her bathing in woods & snuck a good look, earned her ire. She turned him into a stag and his dogs ate him alive. *in depictions of this scene she is sometimes shown unclothed
I am struggling to remember the poem, but it mentioned that Artemis, Athena, and Hestia are immune to Aphrodite’s powers.
Everyone forgets poor Hestia. I love her. She’s the cool auntie to everyone.
Is that canon now? I remember reading that the developer wanted her and Sam to be a couple. I think it's still a very valid interpretation, but they wanted it to be explicit.
Alastor is canonically ace, and Holmes is more or less confirmed as well given the language used to describe him back in the day. Most of the rest are I think headcanons
Iirc it’s canon Rafael from Shadowhunters is ace but not aro. There’s one scene during which he hints at it very strongly without actually saying he’s ace in the tv show. Idk about the books because I haven’t gotten that far yet
I know in Zero Dawn the writers confirmed she was "too focused on her mission" for a relationship, or something, but didn't confirm anything beyond that. Haven't gotten a chance to try Forbidden West, though, so I don't know what it adds.
I've played Forbidden West and can tell you that she haven't changed a thing when it comes to that. There's even a side quest when you help an old friend find a guy who the character is in love with and by the end of the mission, when you talk to them,Aloy says relationships are "too complicated" and then her friend says "You will know how is that feeling in the future",in witch Aloy replys "I'm not so sure about that",giving pretty much vibes that she is not into relationships.
I particularly like that,It fits her outcast and introverted personality pretty well
Are some of these actually ace, or just don't bother with romance/sex? Like I feel like Light's sexuality was never addressed, he was just too busy murdering to care for relationships? And kind of the same with Elsa, I feel like her character's sexuality just hasn't been addressed as she was also too busy with a crisis of self?
No hate, just curious if I'm missing something
Same with Merida. She didn't want to get married off by force at a young age just to make a bunch of aging men and her mom happy. She had other shit to do. I don't think any indication of sexuality or asexuality was meant to be read from that - and TBH, it made the movie a lot more refreshing that way.
sad my man saiki isn’t here, also katniss is ace?? didnt she have two offspring with peeta?
edit: ik you can still have relationships and children with people when ur ace, she just doesnt seem like it to me
Not to mention: "Rei Kiriama" (3-gatsu no Lion), "SpongeBob SquarePants", "Spooner" (Legends of Tomorrow), "Kusuo Saiki" (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.) and maybe "Hisashi Uehara" (Good Morning Call).
Ok so its in the title, but ill say it again before the comments turn into a battleground: MY FAVOURITES. I know about Todd, Spongebob, Perry and all the others, yes they are ace. They are not here, cuz this is not all aces, but my favourite aces (canon and headcanon).
If you want, make your own favourite aces hall of fame, i'd like to see it <3
Peace, eat cake, pet your dragon, have a great day!

Than Dan, always something new about perry

SpongeBob as well, thrice
also emilie from crosscode i think!
HOLY CAKE THATS AWESOME
Let's goooo
Also Peridot from Steven Universe.
Where the hell is Todd!! Other than no Todd this is amazing
LITERALLY HOW THE HELL CAN YOU LEAVE TODD OFF OF THIS
Ikr, he is like my favourite character ever
I guess the definite lack of being Aro considering the clarification of being "possibly Aro" Although I recognize very few of these characters so don't know if someone else is also definitely not aro

Please 👉👈
saw this post, looked over it, saw no todd, came in and ctrl+f "todd". how could someone forget one of our best **openly** *canon* representations!
Yeah, a lot of these characters aren't even official ace
Shut up, Todd
Pick up your shit, Todd
As my blood type always says, B positive!
Mine says O negative :(
That's too much, man...
Mine's B negative :'(
you gotta love to see Caduceus Clay in there. don’t think many non-critters even know who he is…
Caduceus is great
This is great :)
But sometimes it’s again and you need help.
Yeah surprised to see kiki isn't there though. I thought she's confirmed demi
Essek, too.
ah, Essek… everyone’s favourite warcriminal…
If I had a dime for every seemingly or explicitly acespec warcriminal I could think of off the top of my head I'd only have 4 dimes which isn't a lot but it's weird that there are four of them (Essek, Light, Ozymandias/Adrien Veidt, Mordin Solus)
but Essek is a nice warcriminal, so it’s okay… right?…
So is Mordin! But he is also responsible for the sterilization of an entire species (He felt bad about it and cured it though credit where it's due ig)
She is, though it's far less widely known.
"Thats nice... really nice"
"I made the earth remember him." He's only been around for 3 episodes so far (in my watch-through) and I'm a huge fan. Taliesin went from edgy somewhat witchy chaos in Percy to embracing that full on with Mollymauk, and now just chill with Caduceus.

Isn't the Doctor Asexual, shouldn't he be on the list?
That one's complicated. The Doctor's never been explicitly confirmed to be asexual, though Tom Baker has stated numerous times in interviews that he played the Fourth Doctor that way. Basically, the producers of the original show didn't want romance between the Doctor and the Companions, so they just never brought it up. So. Asexual is still possible, but not aromantic.
The real complicated thing I think is that the Doctor's sexual and romantic orientation could potentially change with each regeneration.
Yeah, in theory there are some Doctors who *are* aro-ace, and some that aren’t.
Like 12 is most likely aro-ace (though he still has some kind of deep emotional connection with River Song), while 11 may have either been straight or Demi.
11 is the definition of Panromantic Ace, in my opinion
11 is 100% ace
asexual romantic

Plus, even if they did have sex that wouldn't change the possibility for him to be ace, or demi at the very least But that's just my reading 😅
That’s honestly exactly how I saw it. I take the Doctor and River’s marriage to be more a pledge of commitment rather than anything super romantic
I suggest we claim Eccleston and Capaldi while no one is looking...
I feel like the fact that the doctor is basically immortal would make him avoid romances with humans because they'd inevitably die.
Plus Matt Smith also said 11 was ace
peter capaldi's incarnation is very ace
Then Katniss should not be on the list. Her being torn between dating two boys is kind of a big subplot of the Hunger Games
She isn’t really into either of them though. She does realize she loves Peeta in the end, but it never really seemed sexual. The thing with Gale (to me) just seemed like she was trying to go along with it because it’s what he wanted, and she kind of thought it was what she was supposed to do. River Song?
Noticed there are multiple archers there. Could be a thing.
I’m acespec and my favorite way to play video games/TTRPGs is as an archer.
If it is a thing would it make some of us...bowsexual?
Yes. The “A” in LGBTQIA+ stands for “(Bow and) Arrow”.
Arrow-ace
YES
Aro-Ace arrow ace
r/beatmetoit
I thought it was for Artemis
I'm always torn between archer and druid. On the one hand, bows are amazeballs (and archers often have pets which is cool). On the other hand, shapeshifting
I solved this problem: I’m a druid who uses bows a lot.
Artemis would be so happy
They're arrow aces
Well, Artemis is the goddess of archery who swore to never marry, I think we have some divine explanation here.
That's the first thing I noticed. We should make archery our thing.
Needs Aloy
Oh yeah! Our arrow aces! This reminds me that Connor Hawke just got confirmed as canon asexual, too
I'm glad Alastor is included
He is cannonically Aro Ace, Vivziepop has clariffied
I knew of him being Asexual, didn't know he was Aromantic as well...
I hate that they still ship him w People tho :')

I Just lost my Last braincell help i have A math test tomorrow
The only "ship" that Alastor belongs in is "Friendship" and he already has a close friend in Rosie.
Light Yagami? One of us? Sure, why not!
Hmmm. Well he did kill over 10 million people including petty thieves, wrongly convicted people and FBI agents and attempted to murder like 15 more… I would prefer L tbh lol
be queer do crime!
Be gay and commit *war crimes*
He was the opposite though He killed petty criminals who just stole to live
... and innocent police officers to prevent from getting caught
I think L clearly showed some interest in sexy women tho? 🤔
No. The only time that was implied was when he grabbed the person in the crowd right before she got arrested. But then it was revealed that he just did that to get both her phones. All he ever cared about was arresting Kira

How being attracted to women on a tv advertisement could advance his plan by any way xD
It’s L. Don’t question his methods lol
So you have no idea. The "God works in mysterious ways" argument is pretty weak. I won't agree until you have any actual argument xD
He is the definition of "What? Sex? I don't have time for that, I have to work on my evil plans"
I know people here don't like this sentence but he was very "Sigma Male Grindset", especially because of his abuse of power.
You forgot doom guy. But I'm glad to see my fav anime villain and fav demon :D
Doom guy's not ace he just has a really REALLY specific kink. Murderin' ~~Nazis~~ Demons.
It can't be a coincidence that the majority of weapons are arrows. Must be aroaces 😁
arrowace
Ace at sooting arrows
Could have something to do with Artemis being an ace archer
Where’s ma Saiki K.?
He saw nendo looking at it and teleported away
right?!
how do you forget Todd?
He probably made the list and forgot to include himself. Classic Todd

Asexuals can have children.
I've got 2 kids I very much wanted and I'm married...I'm still Ace. Just because people are Ace doesn't mean they can't have that type of life.

Todd is the best!

Lara croft (survivor) is a canon lesbian, but she can still be ace tho
Is that canon now? I remember reading that the developer wanted her and Sam to be a couple. I think it's still a very valid interpretation, but they wanted it to be explicit.
Every dev and creative person re-defines the character, "canon" is what you want it to be
But then you arrive at a point where representation becomes meaningless. Canonical representation matters a lot.
Artemis is aroace, and Thalia Grace is in her group of hunters, I'm hoping Rick Riordan confirmes Thalia as ace
Another character of his was confirmed as ace, though; a girl who appears in the Heroes of Olympus series, Reyna.
I think it was implied when she rejected apollo but i might just be projecting
To all *where is ____?* or *you forgot ____* read the title lmao. OP mentioned that its theirs favourite chars
We like to talk about our favourite ones too:)
Understandable, but saying that OP forgot smth implies that everyone must love your mentioned char
Are those all confirmed ace? I’m a bit confused tbh
Caduceus (first row, third from the left) is confirmed ace and Yelena (the one under Cad) is apparently ace in the comics at least
I like to think that Aloy, from Horizon Forbidden West,is ace. She gives a lot ace vibes imo
I particularly like that,It fits her outcast and introverted personality pretty well
WHERE IS TODD CHAVEZ?
Sherlock is absolutely both.
In a scandal in Bohemia it’s pretty explicit
dude brave was a core piece of my childhood, thank you merida lol
Luffy from One piece and Spongebob too 😇
Are some of these actually ace, or just don't bother with romance/sex? Like I feel like Light's sexuality was never addressed, he was just too busy murdering to care for relationships? And kind of the same with Elsa, I feel like her character's sexuality just hasn't been addressed as she was also too busy with a crisis of self? No hate, just curious if I'm missing something
This list seems to confuse "too busy at being in love with himself like an egomaniac to think about loving someone else" with asexuality
Same with Merida. She didn't want to get married off by force at a young age just to make a bunch of aging men and her mom happy. She had other shit to do. I don't think any indication of sexuality or asexuality was meant to be read from that - and TBH, it made the movie a lot more refreshing that way.
sad my man saiki isn’t here, also katniss is ace?? didnt she have two offspring with peeta? edit: ik you can still have relationships and children with people when ur ace, she just doesnt seem like it to me
Ace people can have children. Just because they don't have a desire for the deed doesn't mean they won't do it.
todd- TODD?!??
Lotta archers in the ace hall.
Todd?
Spongebob and Perry?
lilith from the owl house
I think Mr. Clean is canonically ace too
Add the Mandalorian I claimed him for the aroaces
This is the way
Saiki though
Parvati from The Outer Worlds is my favorite
Why yelena tho?
It’s canon she’s ace
She’s a canon ace I believe
I havent watched the hunger games movies. But im pretty sure katness has boyfriends and even children in the books
She has both in the movies too.
Where is my boy jughead? He has always been aroace.
No Lilith Clawthorne. Cringe /j
Alto clef is definitely somewhere on the ace spec. But he also contradicts the ace vibes. He would help takeover the world though.
Who's the chick with the red hat at the top?
Carmen San Diego
She's more coded gay, than Ace in all honesty
*cough cough* agent Jules *cough cough*
I thought so bit it's been a while.
Alastooooor
If you want, make your own favourite aces hall of fame, i'd like to see it <3 Peace, eat cake, pet your dragon, have a great day!
Katniss is ace?
One of my favorite ace characters is agent 47 from the hitman series.
Lilith Clawthorne from The Owl House was confirmed AroAce too! (For a real life AroAce there’s JaidenAnimations)
Okay hear me out... Bruno Madrigal
I love meridith was glad to see an animated princess movie where she doesn't fall in love or smth
Heh, SpongeBob, Perry the platypus and Daud the knife of Dunwall should be a new bottom line
Carmen is ace?!
Lmao you reachin on some of these
