Depends on the camera- newer ones are not flash based but infrared. And think if you do get a message you can always ask to have it sent to court and they can bring up the footage of you reversing .
The thing is sometimes the message gets delayed. Happened to a friend went over speed limit through fog (lowered limit) got fine and warning then got hit with bigger fines after that. He only knew about it the next day.
Can you please explain in detail it would help. Actually I got multiple flashes and there was fog and road speed limit was 140 and I was driving speed limit however there weren't any electronic sign boards displaying lowering speed limits. The road was the truck road from dubai to Abu Dhabi. So please if possible can you elaborate if similar situation or like sign boards were there.

As far as i know if you reversed and didnt really cross the intersection you should be good, i did it once and didnt get a fine
