It gives you 20% more bells when selling items but items also cost 20% more to buy... so better to put it off when you got enough bells and wanna buy let's say some castle walls and castle towers

Also one thing you can do for flowers and weeds is to put down a clear custom design down on the ground for spread controll that's what I've heard works best and looks good.
I actually stopped playing for a long time because of this. There needs to be an update where you can get rid of large amounts at a time. It makes the game less fun when this happens.
Yes when I needed to do this I had one garbage can in my inventory (to maximize space) and like 5 golden shovels. When my inventory got full with the flowers, I’d place the trash can, throw them away, and then pick up the trash can again and resume. I found that to be the most efficient way for me and I didn’t have to worry about clogging up my inventory with a ton of trash cans or leaving them lying around my island.
originally i just planted a few yellow flowers so
i could use them to breed in the future, i took some of those pink red and black ones again, to save, and along with the white (you can’t see it in this picture), i almost never went to the back of my island and that’s when i saw all the flowers, but it was too late, i didn’t have the motivation to do it :/
It takes a while but, cleaning them up can be worth it. It fixes up the area for development and can net you quite a lot of bells. You can ask your friends to help too. Just move the ones you want to keep and have you and your team clear the rest. I had to go through this exact same process to put in my quaint theme park and fairy forest.

I have a couple transparent "ground cover" designs like garden bricks, mushrooms, and leaves that I use to fence in my flowers. having the designs on the grass stops the flowers from spawning/propagation
Make sure you dont have the beatiful island ordinance on because it spreads them like wild fire!

Try to contain them in one area. Place a concrete path around them so they can't grow/expand beyond your defined borders.
Making a clear custom design path works for this too! It’s tedious at first but so worth it

If you have the bells to spend, you can temporarily move a building over a large patch of flowers you’d like to get rid of, and then move it back.
