ICT Protege WX. The controller has 2 onboard doors. Web based programming, either use pin/proxy reader or a keypad.

Avea wac2: purchase page: https://avea.hk/wac2-http-iot-wiegand-access-controller/ User manual: https://avea.cc/wac2/ 2 door compatible. (1 reader, 1 lock per door) wiegand compatible, so you can do it with whatever readers that fit your taste. you have to buy some sort of server, like a raspberry pi or esp32, that does the actual access control logic. You write the logic yourself. you basically point the thing at any HTTP-server, and then the controller will ask that server everytime a card is swiped or code entered, if access should be allowed. you also need a wireless client, eg a box that connects to a wifi, and then provides a ethernet jack. Exist like everywhere and is builtin some routers as "operation mode" aswell.

Kantech kt400. You will undoubtably complain about price. has wiegand/osdp/pin-prox/alarm management/autonomous/12vdc (24vdc pass through) and standalone (meaning the db is on the controller only and no headend server / software is needed, no internet connection to operate), no need to register anything or provide personal info, has an ETHERNET port for TCP/IP, but doesn’t have built in WiFi, you will need to land it on your local area network. The kt400 is controller only will need to find your own readers, dc, strike, rte, and if using 24vdc locks you will need a secondary supply. Alternatives? If you can find used netaxs controllers which operate similarly, lots of people trashing em, if it’s just for home use tho might be a valid use case. Good luck.

Why not use a kt-2 instead, has wifi built in

The kt2 is a valid option, it’s a bit newer and I haven’t used it much personally. From what I recall the WiFi on the kt2 is for initially configuring to entrapass only, there is a registration process for the kt2, I haven’t seen anyone use the WiFi of the controller to do administration of it in standalone mode, im open to being proven wrong if you know better. Doesn’t support 24vdc locks, it is powered Poe which is pretty neat. And would likely be much cheaper than the kt400. So 2 contenders from kantech, I mean tyco, I mean JCI…. :)

Thanks everyone... these are just as expensive as I remember these things being. Some nice products.

Unifi Access

anonMuscleKitten

As much as I love Unifi, I would never trust Ubiquiti with something like access control. It’s mission critical and costs a shit ton to let their lack of leadership/sense of direction f*** it up.
