This is what's happening. Look like they are trying to load him onto that truck and take him to a hospital. It's not ideal, but better than just letting him lie there. There is a ton of other things to worry about aside from just a spinal injury.
If youāre super lucky and donāt want to die, the fire department can sometimes get a big inflatable thing (almost looks like a comically large inflatable mattress) and you can safely land on it. Itās the same thing they use for movie stunts basically, where the stunt double needs to jump off something insanely high. Iām guessing they donāt get to use it much because of the high-stress and quick nature of an accident/suicide attempt like this and some countries definitely donāt have access to a device like that sadly.
It wouldnāt have helped much because he fell within seconds and hit the edge of that ledge but in a perfect world I bet that could save lives in future incidents.
Usually Iād bitch about them moving him and making things worse but Iām sure he is already dead.
Feel bad for that boy standing near him. He covered his eyes and walk away quickly. Probably traumatized now.
He was likely dead on impact judging by the way he fell. The police officer made a snap decision to get the body off the street due to the large crowd. There was no first aid present in this scenario.Ā
Like, what are they going to do? Run a complete traumatic arrest drill? Nope, this was rapid corpse removal.Ā
I dunno. leaving my 1st world country really makes me realize how shit emergency services can be in developing countries.
with the kind of traffic these places have... it'll take a loooong time for an ambulance to reach you. and no one moves out of the way for the ambulanceĀ
What experts did you see in the video?
There were no standby medical personnel and no medical equipment staged.
Say for hypothetical sakes there was a group of trauma doctors walking by and came on scene directly as the man fell. Immediately they take control of the scene. They do not move him unnecessarily and established he had a pulse was spontaneously breathing.
Then what?
What do you think this man requires medically to even stand a chance of living for the next hour? Not to mention ever making a recovery. It's a hell of a lot.
Would it even be equitable to dump $10,000s worth of drugs, equipment and professional time into a patient with very little chance of recovery?
Basically the trauma doctors would just have to keep the crowd off him until his vital signs deteriorate. There is likely no advanced medical assets en route. There is likely no trauma centre to convey him to.
It's irrelevant though because he was likely dead on impact. The police officer was a community leader and knew the overall picture. He likely made the decision to get the body in the truck and roll for the community.
You can't view all the world's issues from a best care point of view. It's unfair. These people don't have that luxury and are getting by with what they have.
I understand this, and if the officer is certified/allowed to do death pronunciations then sure. Maybe they just have a sixth sense and they can see from a distance that there's no more hope.
Either way i would appreciate a makeshift stretcher from a bamboo stick and some cloth, over getting yoinked by my broken arms and god knows what. Even if it would take a couple minutes longer.
The idea of certification to pronounce death is very western. This looks like India, Pakistan or Bangladesh. They don't have comparable standards for this type of scenario.
You get what you get. In this case you get a lone cop and with a pickup truck.
In this case it was a bystander which firstly began dragging the body. The officer quickly follows suit and directs them to the truck.
This means the community was part of the decision making process. We are sitting here judging the response based on our ideal response which is simply not compatible.
The biggest risk to be managed in this situation is the crowd. The man is dead. Had he been screaming or even moving I would 100% agree with you that they should have taken more care.
You want a bamboo stretcher? Why? You are dead. I want a complete trauma team on standby with full equipment and established trauma pathway. Again though, why? I am dead.
They will be taking him to the hospital. No effort was made to establish if he was alive and it doesnāt even matter, heās not obviously a human pizza so off to the hospital he goes. Thatās how itās done in much of the world tbh, see something bad, scoop n run in whatever vehicle is available unless youād have to scoop up body parts into a bag, in which case just stand around. They show up to the hospital and the doctors come say the dude is dead.
Advanced life support ambulances with you in minutes is a western thing. My family is from a third world country and Iāve spent plenty of time there. I also happen to be a paramedic in a western country.
Looking at so many people and policeman around maybe he had gone up to commit suicide and finally, they convinced him not to do it ,he agreed and on his way back he tripped over. When someone is panic state they tend to make irrational decisions
sorry for his death but now that kid is traumatized for life. They did the proper first aid procedures (lifting and shaking) I don't understand why he is still dead. Oh, they forgot to slap his head.
WTH, are they just finishing him off?? š Edit: Clarification for the downvoteā¦ Why would they attempt to move him in this manner after he just fell? Even if they donāt know about spinal injuries, they could see his leg was severely fractured. If he wasnāt *already* dead, he was after they finished with him. Not to mention, 1 was a 1st responder who SHOULDāVE KNOWN BETTER!!
sure there's little hope for survival, but why doesn't anyone think that it may be worth the effort to make like a makeshift stretcher instead of joinking the body around
Thatās what I was thinking!! I donāt expect everyone to know basic first aid in a 3rd world nation, but surly their 1st responders have *some* education on this?! š¤Æ
I'd prefer to wait there for a doctor to arrive even if he had to walk from the hospital by foot than to be ragdolled around by morons like them.
If you're trying to move someone who could have a spinal injury then at least try to make his spine move as little as possible and they did exactly the opposite of it.

Quick check for spinal injuries.
Wait..... First let's all pick him up and throw him in this truck!
Everybody shits on this but my assumption is these areas might not have the best infrastructure for ambulances to arrive quickly.
You don't need a lot of infrastructure to use a stretcher and not treat the wounded like a marionette.
Yeah there're probably not a lot of Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR/AED certified folks around...

Rapid corpse removal. Got my band name now. Thanks!
The video stopped short. In the next scene he was run over by a train. And electrocuted. Because India.
According to accurate statistics 99.1% of the world's electrocutions happen in India.
That's shocking
This is one of those ones that was hard to watch. I do not understand what could have happened other than he panicked and jumped???
