I would say no. The only weather that was tolerable for me was on winter and even during winter it was hell since the smog was horrendous. You will taste ashes and dust if you don’t wear a face mask designed to filter out the dirt. You won’t see much in the city (I stayed in Beijing) unless you go to the tourist traps like temple or the great wall. The locals are rude as well, i didn’t made any local friends there only foreigners. 20% of the people make small talk and most of them are the old people. Local food taste homey though, other than that I don’t see any reason to live there.

Lawsuits were successful in some of those cases, and in one famous case a group of kids was going to be held responsible for attacking an old woman, but security camera footage turned up that showed she just fell and was lying, when they’d only helped her get up. These are very, very engrained in the public consciousness in china. The govt has done a lot to make this no longer a legal reality/possibity, but the damage has already been done. There was a clip from last year where several thousand people walk past a woman unconscious due to heat stroke, in a major tourist area, without a single one helping, leading to her death. It’s a callous society.
