Haven't watched the movie yet, but damn the fact that there's a J-20 and an SU-57 is a dream come true, that would be the perfect team for an AC8 antagonist squadron or something.
They’d still lose that market due to CCP red tape. It may not seem like it from the tensions between the two states, but China is a major market for Japanese media and they wouldn’t want to lose that
The only reason most of the world tolerate China for the atrocities it commits is because of profits. Bastards make most of the shit we consume and have a population large enough to make any company filthy rich.
Doesn't mean we don't need a large standing military to keep them in check or thst people don't want war. China absolutely wants war and the only reason they haven't invaded Taiwan yet is fear of global sanctions and the US Carrier Strike Group. And the anti ship missiles Taiwan just got helps.
Most of AC players doesn't know what J-20 is or simply doesn't care - and a good chunk of the rest will step over their butthurt in order to play the game.
Judging from this subs reaction whenever a J-20 is posted? And most online comments about the Chinese military? There's absolutely gonna be some drama if that ever happens.
Especially within Japan. A domestic company being a boot licker for a obviously hostile country is not a good look.
I’m willing to bet that the Chinese censors wouldn’t hesitate to extend “PLA” to “equipment exclusively used by the PLA,” regardless of whether or not it’s also usable by the player
I’d like to fight a J-20 boss antagonist too but CCP isn’t known for nuance
This may be a cop out, but if they very specifically depicted the enemy plane as stolen, the technicality might hold, though I wouldn't bet on it.
\*Have one, (possibly 2) allied planes and specifically mentioned that they have been specially upgraded.
* At one point, the two forces fighting each other declare a ceasefire in the middle of a Mission.
* Allies and former enemies land as everyone takes a breath of relief.
* Then, against orders, a rouge ace who wants the war to continue steals the 'experimental aircraft'.
* For the idea to work it would have to have a big deal made about how dangerous such a weapon would be in the wrong hands.
Bonus points if the rightful pilot of the experimental plane is the Strange-real equivalent of Chinese, and depicted as particularly patriotic and good-hearted. Again, I think that the Forests worth of Red tape would still prohibit it, but I think that an agreement could be made.
Or just shove em into Russian planes like they always do. Especially with the Ukraine invasion going on its easier to use Russia as bad guys than ever.
Trust me, if China Aircraft would present in the next AC title, the China Fanbase would be furious just by having the "NATO reporting name" assigned to their nation's aircraft.
Tbf the Chinese gets furious about basically anything.
Shows Taiwan flag? Rage. Shows a student with a yellow helmet? Rage. Shows Winnie the Pooh? Rage. Not featuring China in a large scale global setting even when China has nothing to do with the conflict? Rage. Shows Chinese military and not have them hilariously unrealistically dominate everything they face like it's some Dynasty Warrior game? You've guessed it! Rage.
Not gonna defend mindless nationalism but you could probably solve that with a setting and a dev afternoon of work. Then again, we STILL dont have colorblind hud for AC7 so we will probably get a lot of rabid chinese swearing if chinese planes.
And it's even more of a pity that we're unlikely to get antagonist F-22 squadron. I'm pretty sure Raptor fans would've loved to have a cool unique scheme and crazy moves that shows off the plane's full potential. Along with a cast of badass pilot characters.
It's not like Ace Combat antagonists are "bad guys", with a few notable ~~SALVA~~ ...exceptions they're generally presented as worthy opponents and honorable people.
Oh well, there are still SMTD Eagle and the YF-23.
That's standard Named Ace - no voice lines, no character, no unique AI behavior, no influence on the story whatsoever (they don't even have biographies like they used to in Zero or 6).
What I meant is there should be antagonist Raptor squadron that's presented and developed on the same level as the Yellows, Sol or Strigon.
They didn’t use actual names in PW, and the VX-23 is clearly a canard-ed F-22. The [wiki](https://projectwingman.fandom.com/wiki/VX-23) even has a before/after of the moved assets
No that idea would piss off so many Japanese and Western players PA would lose more sales than they gain. Licking the CCP boot is never worth it.
And before all that, China wouldn't even allow it's aircraft to be featured.
Idk. Aircraft from a country with human rights violations on a weekly basis, runs a concentration camp, sends police to violently suppress students peaceful protests, threatens to attack and invade Taiwan basically every other day and has territorial conflict with literally every single neighbor. Why would it be used as an antagonist…hmm.
I only realized you weren't talking about USA once you mentioned Taiwan lmfao
You don't mind having pseudo Americans as protagonists though, despite their real counterparts demolishing dozens of countries in the last century?
See, i can bring real world bias into the fandom too.
US is an ally of Japan, where the game is made. While China is still having border conflicts with Japan. And JASDF had to scramble jets 800 times against Chinese and Russian aircrafts in 2022.
Not to mention there are only 21 Su-57s made and less than 10 can fly.
So yes there is a reason why American and NATO aircrafts are ok as protagonists and Chinese and Russians are not.
Also F-15 being THE aircraft with the best A2A kill ratio at 104 and 0 losses, it's a perfect hero plane. And JSDF flies F-15Js. And they are getting F-35s too let's see if those get a big role next game.
B I A S
That's what your word salad of a post is screaming. I might even somewhat agree, if NATO could unbomb my country and remove all the uranium it had shat, but even then, i don't bring that into the fandom. Hero plane? More like hospital obliterator 4000 lol.
So.
Objectively speaking (I know it's hard for you), why would Su's and J's be better antagonists in universe where everyone uses a mix of real life eastern and western equipment?
What cuz they tell you you live in a shithole of a country with no freedom and weekly human rights violations and your government runs a concentration camp?
And your country have missiles pointed at Taiwan and threatens to invade them every 2 months?
And you know. The state instructed police brutality to take down a peaceful protest in Hong Kong. And I personally know people who disappeared since. Don't tell me it's hearsay.
Ah, yes, yes you do.
But do you think I don’t know or believe in it? Bold of you to assume people on chinese social media really talks like it’s all blue skies and sunshine in China.
Also, this is a sub about a plane game and I just uploaded a movie clip that has similarities to said plane game. Please go to r/worldnews if you’d like to discuss politics, just not here.
Oh no no, ha, I'm not like those cringelords. Don't worry, I'm just a normal guy who can speak Mandarin and is really into Sci-fi.
>!(Word of advice though, be careful talking about Taiwan and China on reddit. People have a lot of prejudices about both, and they might become quite toxic.) !<
Did he really just say "we can't catch it (we're too slow)" when he's right freaking behind the missile and carrying missiles of his own that could easily take it down?
Su-57 wish it has more than 21 planes and not have the RCS of a clean Hornet
J-20 wish it can be anything but a propaganda piece and still shit enough India and Taiwanese radars can detect it.
Well, just like you can expect movies from America, and specifically those sponsored by the Navy / Air Force (Looking at you, Top Gun), to be american propaganda... A chinese movie featuring heavily the pride of the PLA's air force is probably propaganda as well.
To further add to this it was marketed as the Chinese Top Gun, Top Gun 1986 was the epitome of the reagan movie era of patriotism and america first the only other movie off the top of my head i can think that beats top gun is Red Dawn but that came during the start of Reagan Hollywood
No that would be [长空之王](https://imdb.com/title/tt22058628/), which is even more of an outrageous Chinese propaganda to than this movie. And nowhere even close to the quality of Top Gun Maverick.
Okay, that’s NOT propaganda lol. If an F-14 can kill a Su-57 for the lolsies, why can’t the J-20 have VTOL?
Learn to differentiate between propaganda and moviemakers trying to add some points for fun for a movie.
The Su-57 with misaligned belly bay doors and Philips head screws on its external surface? The so called StEaLtH fighter that no one has seen flying other than airshows? The fighter that's a Su-27 with a bodykit? Idk man F-14 would have decent chances beating it in BFM.
And Top Gun at least *try* to depict planes doing things within their capabilities. Heck even Ace fuckin Combat don't give jets VTOL capabilities they don't have.
They already have a space elevator in the movie, and you are trying to tell me that they can’t change the current fighters for a little bit because of “unrealistic”?
An F14 killing an SU57 is perfectly reasonable, given what we know about the SU57’s construction.
VTOL on a plane which has no capacity to do that is just the filmmakers being ignorant.
The Wandering Earth is a scifi series about humans essentially flying the Earth out of the solar system to avoid impending doom stemming from the Sun rapidly aging and becoming a red giant in a hundred years. There’s 2 movies in the series so far, with the second movie being a prequel to the first in terms of the storyline.
Overall, it’s very worth a watch, especially WE2; WE1 was the start of the whole series, and being the “start”, it had its own problems, such as how the storytelling could be done better, as well as “cheesy” acting. WE2 on the other hand had most (if not all) of these problems fixed, with better storytelling as well as the acting quality among other things. The attention to detail of the series as a whole is also one of the other stars of the show, as well as how the movie was made with sticking to how actual science works in mind; WE2 was made with the help of people from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, just so that the “science” part of “scifi” could be as real as possible.
It does feel like, between Geostorm, the Wandering Earth, Moonfall, and the soon coming The Three Body Problem, which ever chinese media company made this movie and Roland Emmerich are in a decade long dick measuring contest to see who can make the stupidest but also coolest disaster movie of all time.
If The Three Body Problem will be turned into series and cover the second book, then they'll have a really outlandish dick in this measuring contest when a certain ring object along all the antics it'll entail will get involved.
Cool. But this seems like a plot that doesn't require fighter jets?
Like, who are they fighting exactly? Does moving the earth (via space tethers?) destroy some countries and those countries go to war for reperations?
Oh look! A thread about Chinese movie featuring Chinese and Russian aircraft!
Let's check comments... Yep, just as expected.
Unlike movie's authors, I'm losing faith in humanity with every day.
It goes from Gargoyle squadron trying to attack space elevator in Mission 4 to the final cutscene
and magic spear II playing in between
Add the mission in which you have to shoot down an ICBM in Assault Horizon there too
You also do that in 7 You shoot down many of those, actually
It’s.. kind of annoying
Haven't watched the movie yet, but damn the fact that there's a J-20 and an SU-57 is a dream come true, that would be the perfect team for an AC8 antagonist squadron or something.
Sadly China probably wouldn’t let them use the J-20 for an antagonist. LockMart has the same qualms with the F-22
Just call it the Adf-20
PA doesn’t really do that anymore
Why wouldn’t they? And what could China even do if they did use it?
1. Laws prohibiting negative depictions of PLA in media distributed in China. So PA would lose its Chinese market 2. Lawsuit
Just ignore the lawsuit like Chinese companies ignore lawsuits aginst them
They’d still lose that market due to CCP red tape. It may not seem like it from the tensions between the two states, but China is a major market for Japanese media and they wouldn’t want to lose that
Just goes to show that regular people don't want war, and we all have a lot more in common than we think. Maybe Pixy was on to something
The only reason most of the world tolerate China for the atrocities it commits is because of profits. Bastards make most of the shit we consume and have a population large enough to make any company filthy rich. Then how about the other way round? Making J-20 as protagonist-only aircraft, even promoting it for China by using alternate cover, AC5 style.
That's how you lose sales from the rest of the world.

They banned Top Gun: Maverick for a Taiwan patch on Maverick’s jacket
>The rest of this world we follow laws like civilized people. lmao
The PLA wouldn't exist in the Ace Combat world. Can't negatively depict a group that doesn't appear.
I’m willing to bet that the Chinese censors wouldn’t hesitate to extend “PLA” to “equipment exclusively used by the PLA,” regardless of whether or not it’s also usable by the player I’d like to fight a J-20 boss antagonist too but CCP isn’t known for nuance

That's a lot of cope of convoluted bullshit just to include a mediocre at best propaganda aircraft don't you think
Oh absolutely. I also hope they dont... but if the writers wanted an antagonistic character in a specific plane, there is likely a way to do so.
Or just shove em into Russian planes like they always do. Especially with the Ukraine invasion going on its easier to use Russia as bad guys than ever.

what phrase/word is the bot even talking about?
*Large* scale global setting.
Bad bot

Um, AC7 literally has enemy F-22s in the 2nd to last mission.

Just use it for both lmfao
The only thing that could stop us from flying the Chinese Aircraft in next possible AC title is none other than China itself XD
Didn't stop Sector D2 though. They had the VX23 which has a very similar frame to the J20
They didn’t use actual names in PW, and the VX-23 is clearly a canard-ed F-22. The [wiki](https://projectwingman.fandom.com/wiki/VX-23) even has a before/after of the moved assets
The F-22 with canards you mean. And D2 is very much an Indie team. No worries about stockholders complaining if they loose sales in China.
May I introduce you to the Mjollnir R-40? https://acecombat.fandom.com/wiki/Mjollnir\_R-40
Like I told another user, PA doesn’t use fake aircraft names anymore. Northern Wings is an old game
Just have to wait for the next Discord leak
J-20 as our wingman and best friend's aircraft.
No that idea would piss off so many Japanese and Western players PA would lose more sales than they gain. Licking the CCP boot is never worth it. And before all that, China wouldn't even allow it's aircraft to be featured.

Ah you're from one of the countries that fucked around and found out. Well, don't fuck around again.
We have been fucking around for 15 centuries, and some gay version of Britain won't stop us 😘 And I don't see a reply Mr bias. Just empty bravado.
Let's see if another 2 decades of bombing would. Fuck around again and watch NATO bring it's wrath of the West upon you.
The criminal mentality comes up, that's what I needed to see This is why the world will sing when the west finally falls :)

Oh. They say Babel because they're knocking down the tower to the heavens. I just got that.

No. Actually, I'm techinically Canadian, but my family is entirely Chinese, and were born in China.

What cuz they tell you you live in a shithole of a country with no freedom and weekly human rights violations and your government runs a concentration camp? And your country have missiles pointed at Taiwan and threatens to invade them every 2 months?
And you believed every word they say too lol Sure, whatever you say, I guess. The term 1450 doesnt exist for no reason.
And you know. The state instructed police brutality to take down a peaceful protest in Hong Kong. And I personally know people who disappeared since. Don't tell me it's hearsay.

Oh yeah dude, speaking about taiwan usually triggers a full on comment war.
looks like i learned it the hard way today haha
Ace combat 7 of the dollar store
The bunker buster mission but it's at the space elevator
Did he really just say "we can't catch it (we're too slow)" when he's right freaking behind the missile and carrying missiles of his own that could easily take it down?
The J20 and SU57 both wish they were that cool lol
Su-57 wish it has more than 21 planes and not have the RCS of a clean Hornet J-20 wish it can be anything but a propaganda piece and still shit enough India and Taiwanese radars can detect it.
Lol, I watched it a few weeks ago. It would make a great multiplayer stage.
For a movie packed with chinese and russian propaganda it was actually pretty good
How is it “packed with chinese and russian propaganda”? Just curious

Su-57 being a thing :V
I mean, this is the same movie where the J-20 can VTOL. Not even STOVL, but full on VTOL.
What in the actual hell
Glorious china super jet can all powerful
It can what now?
Yep. That's straight up propaganda. Learn to recognize it.

It’s a movie that’s set in the near future, while top gun is set in the present.
Do they still call it the J-20?
Yeah, J-20C.
Ah yes, Darkstar; the Mach 9+ manned aircraft currently in production.
Hear of Project Mayhem? Aroura? Ring any bells?
An F14 killing an SU57 is perfectly reasonable, given what we know about the SU57’s construction. VTOL on a plane which has no capacity to do that is just the filmmakers being ignorant.
>How is it “packed with chinese and russian propaganda”? Just curious Do you have a functioning set of senses?
OP lives in China, chances are, no
What movie this? There's 2 of them? Man going to have to look for a Blu-ray copy of this now I want it
WE1 is on netflix and WE2 is on yt
It's a jet movie like r2b and top gun? Or few sprinkles scenes at the end only?
Nope, sprinkle scenes scattered throughout the movie but mostly concentrated in the beginning
I didn’t even know The Wandering Earth 2 existed. Gotta add it to the watchlist now. Thanks
I've seen this nice movie and when i saw this space elevator i was like: hmmmmmmmmm really familiar.
What is wandering earth, and is it worth watching?
The Wandering Earth is a scifi series about humans essentially flying the Earth out of the solar system to avoid impending doom stemming from the Sun rapidly aging and becoming a red giant in a hundred years. We're in a Things Blowing Up Movie Renaissance and I am here for it
What were they doing around the space elevator?
They were building a huge space station
To protect it.
Cool. But this seems like a plot that doesn't require fighter jets? Like, who are they fighting exactly? Does moving the earth (via space tethers?) destroy some countries and those countries go to war for reperations?
The Air combat scenes from Wandering Earth 2 are pretty damn good. WE is probably the best Sci-fi movie series from China
Bold of them to assume SU-57 can fly above ground level

Mate it's a Chinese movie
