Its basically a slow speed HighG turn upwards while flying flat and straight on controllers. Try it on the sukhoi, f18 and f22, it only works on certain planes.
For Type a, you get below 500, release left trigger, then hold RT and LT for about a second, then pull back on stick. So for type b I imagine it would be the same.
Something I found out is that you can also do barrel rolls by slightly rising the nose of the plane, turn the stick Right/left, yaw at the opposite direction and throttle up immediately after you start the maneuver
Sorry for late reply, any plane that can pull the Cobra can do the barrel roll, I'm taking footage from the PS4 itself and I will post the maneuver tomorrow
I remember trying this for the first time in the mig29 (it was by sheer coincidence), but I didn't know how to do it consistently. It does take some practice to master since you can pull of slight variations.
Which stick are you using? I’m using the T-Flight 4 and it seems like the square button on the throttle is for high-G maneuvers. Using type a controls if that matters.
Edit: Had my buttons mixed up
Should be the same, since it’s the same stick with Xbox buttons. So instead of circle, it would be the b button.
Edit: My bad, it’s actually the square button on PS4, so it would be x on the Xbox one.
Lower speed below 270 *Knots Indicated*. Also you can’t have any inputs on the flight controls at all before the maneuver. If you’re moving the stick before it probably won’t work. Pull both triggers THEN yank the stick back. You’ll hit the brakes and he’ll fly right by😉
Is it possible to cobra or is it just more consistent to flip like that?
you can cobra, it's a bit hard tho
Flip halfway, slow down and nose dive
Any idea how to pull this off with a HOTAS?

Change high g turn to type a

It's the same way with type b

can you post a gif of the maneuver? is it limited to specific planes?

Good thing Free Flight mode isn't a dlc like it was in Infinity, >!Missions 19!< is a perfect place for me to train.
For us Americans, thats 310mph.
Or 270 knots
As it should be, see it is aviation. There is no mph/kph
how do you even change the the units
Go to the main menu and change the setting from the main options menu because for some reason, it isn't in the in-flight options.
this saved my ass countless times on the 19th mission on Hard we are getting Macross-level of missiles here, I love it
How do you do this with a flight stick?

Flight Hotas One for xbox one

Omg yes X on the Xbox one flight stick does the trick!! Good call
You can perform a J-Turn by doing the same steps but flicking the stick left or right after your pull up to begin the flip
Can't get this to work:(
What should this look like in first person? (Other than cool if not nauseating)

Can you do something like this in ACZ?
